Another Nature Walk

Good Morning!

Well today will be a mad rush to ensure I’ve packed everything and done everything I need to do before tomorrow’s flight to Melbourne for the Stampin’ Up! Convention which starts on Thursday.

I wanted to pop in and share a card I made a little while ago using the Nature Walk Stamp Set and the Tulip Frame Embossing Folder both new in the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue.

I wanted to show how you can use the Tulip Frame Embossing Folder for making various sized frames and mats.

You simply cut your cardstock to a little larger than the mat/frame you want and line up 2 or 3 edges of the cardstock with the frame and run it through the Big Shot.

Then you line up the other edges and the pattern you’ve just created and run it half way or 2/3′s through the machine and then wind it back – dont put it all the way through as the last part will flatten what you did in the first pass. Oh I hope that makes sense … if not drop me a line and I’ll do some instructions when I get back from Melbourne.

This is a very queasy card and I’ve just used my Stampin Write markers to colour in the flower stamp and stamp it straight down and then stamp a sentiment at the bottom.

As you can see you could use this card for any occasion at all from Sympathy to Birthday to Get well.

Now I’d better get back to that to-do list so I dont leave anything behind tomorrow!

Welcome Christmas

Last Sunday I had my last Stamp A Stack with Libby’s group of lovely ladies.  Libby recently joined my team so next year she’ll be running her own!

The ladies were after Christmas cards so I was happy to oblige. I love Christmas :)   I had decided on a couple of cards I’d already done with several groups and wanted to give them a new card as well so I decided on Welcome Christmas as I’d got it with the Dress Up Christmas promotion last month and hadnt used it yet.

Here is what we made …

treegreetings

Recipe
Stamps: Welcome Christmas
Inks: Soft Suede
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Big Shot, Petals a Plenty Textured Impressions Folder, Cherry Cobbler Stampin Write Marker, Old Olive Stampin’ Write marker, Paper Snips, Real Red Grosgrain Striped ribbon 1 1/4″, Stampin Dimensionals, Stampin Sponges.

I love this card as it is just so simple to do and has the added effect of the Petals a Plenty Textured Impressions Folder.

Now if you’d like some Stampin’ Up! goodies for Christmas then dont forget to get hubby, boyfriend or family to contact me with your wishlist and to guarantee that you receive you order before Christmas you should get it to me by Friday or Sunday at the latest.  If they mention its for Christmas I will give them (and you) free shipping on all orders over $70 – so thats my little gift to you for Christmas!

Also, make sure you check out the December Frenzy specials as some items are 50% off!

Wheely Nice Cuppa

On Thursday I shared with you the new Builder Wheels and how you can use two with the spacers & spindle. Today I’m going to share a card I made using just one of the Builder Wheels and the cute little Share a Cup stamp.

So this is what you get when you combine the new Builder Wheel, the big Shot and a little coffee ….

Card Recipe
Stamps: Share a Cup, Thoughtful Friend Builder Wheel, Itty Bitty Bits
Paper: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Ink: Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Accessories: Big Shot, Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon,
Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack

I just love how this card turned out and the colour combination – I’m loving the new colours especially Early Espresso (everyone needs one of these – in the cup and in the inks/cardstock!), Cherry Cobbler and Blushing Bride.

One thing making this card showed me was the need for the wheel guide. I have one and never really used it before with the standard and jumbo wheels however I’ve found you really need it for the builder wheels – especially when your using just one of them.

I do hope you like this card and you’re having a lazy Sunday afternoon.  Its a very hot day here in Sydney – it was 37.6C (100F) at midday so I’m hoping your keeping cool wherever you are.

Elegant Embossing

Happy Friday!

I am on a group where we were given a challenge to do a technique that we havent tried before – to me that in itself is a challenge! So after thinking for a while I thought I’d try the Inked Embossing Technique – now I dont know if there is a correct term for this or not but thats what I’m calling it!

You simply ink up one side of a Textured Impressions Folder – you can swipe the ink pad all over till its covered or you can use your brayer to apply the ink. You then pop your cardstock in and run it through the Big Shot and awesome wowness :)

Here’s my card …

How nice did this turn out??

I inked up the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder with Elegant Eggplant classic ink and then ran it through with a piece of Perfect Plum cardstock. I just love it!

I’ve then finished off the card by adding some ribbon and the sentiment and gorgeous daisy from the Every Moment stamp set – new in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue. I just love this stamp set and have made a couple of cards with it over the past couple of days and will share them with you in time.

Makes a very ‘queasy’ card (quick and easy – a new Onie-ism)
