Balloon Celebration

Today my youngest turns 18!  Not sure how that happened when I’m sure just the other week she was 3!  So I’ve made this card for her using the Birthday Celebration Stamp Set and the Happy Birthday Thinlits

Birthday Celebration by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

This was another card included in my Birthday Stamp A Stack on Saturday.  The ladies loved this card.

Birthday Celebration

I used the small solid balloon from Balloon Celebration and stamped it randomly over my white layer in Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach.  I wanted the balloon layer to be soft and subtle so stamped off first before stamping onto my card.

To make my Happy Birthday a little bit special I painted it with my Clear Wink of Stella Brush after cutting it out with the Happy Birthday Thinlit.   I did try to capture the shimmer in the photo but it’s a little hard to see.

Dont forget I have my Facebook Live Card Demonstration today on my Stamp A Latte Facebook Page at 11am (sydney time)  – click here to go to my page now.   If you miss it ‘live’ you can always watch the replay!

Afterwards I’ll be taking my girl out for a sweet treat at Oliver Brown Belgian Chocolate Cafe which opened recently here – I’ll be sure to share photo’s!

Now I wonder if there’s anything Weight Watchers friendly there for me?  hmm looking at the menu online I’m thinking probably not!

Cards with Texture Class

This week’s class is Cards with Texture!  We’ll be doing all sorts of embossing …. heat embossing, embossing folders and embossing paste!  Contact me today to register – Class is on Sunday at 2pm.

Happy Birthday Honey … with a Twist

Yesterday was my hubby’s birthday so he had the normal Happy Birthday wishes in the morning … well mostly!  It was Happy Birthday Honey … with a Twist – you see I’d made his card however he couldn’t have it till after my Birthday Stamp A Stack class!  I’m sure he was fine with that!

Actually this card has a couple of ‘twists’ …

Happy Birthday with Twist by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Austrlalia

The first twist being of the Lemon Lime variety! I cant tell you just how wrong I was about this colour when I first saw it back in April.  My first impression was ‘what were they thinking’ but I’m now finding it hard not to use it in my projects!  It goes with most colours, adds a pop when needed, and if you look around you will see it everywhere!

So, once again, Stampin’ Up! is in the know and knows what will be trending!

Another twist on this card is how I did the framelit sentiment …

Happy Birthday with Twist by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Austrlalia

I’ve cut out the sentiment twice – in Lemon Lime Twist and in Whisper White.  I then popped the Lemon Lime Twist onto the Whisper White with our Liquid Multipurpose Glue and gave it a ‘twist’ to offset it a little and give like a drop shadow effect to the sentiment. This also adds a little depth and dimension to the card.

If you look closely you’ll see a sneak peek from the upcoming Holiday Catalogue (have you requested your copy yet?  click here to get yours).  Yes it’s the gorgeous new Black Rhinestone Jewels – my gosh they are gorgeous and the perfect embellishment for this card!

I hope you also noticed the Gold Metallic Thread I used – it’s not one of my favourite trims to use so it needs noticing when I do! 😉

Happy Birthday Thinlits

You’ll want to grab the Happy Birthday Thinlit for all your Birthday cards – it’s one of those ‘must have’s’ plus you can purchase it to coordinate with your Stylized Happy Birthday Stamp or in a bundle with the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set …

Dont forget August is my Stamp-a-versary and  you will get a free 6×6 Designer Series Paper Stack when you place an order of $100 or more plus be entered into the Birthday Prize draw … It's my Stampaversary - dont miss out on your free gifts - shop with Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Star of Wonder

You know when you see something for the first time and know you just have to have it?

No … I’m not talking about Chris Hemsworth … …. …. no really I’m not!

When I first looked through the Holiday Catalogue one set that really caught my eye and I knew I had to have was the Star of Light Stamp Set.

Everything about it grabbed me .. from the stars, swirls and accents to the sentiments – it was just perfect.  Well I finally had time to sit down and create with it and this is what I made …

sugarskystarwonder

This photo really does not do this card justice.  It’s hard to get a good picture of a white background with soft colours on it.

The star swirl and medium stars are stamped in Soft Sky. The sentiment is done in Sweet Sugarplum and the little stars in Pink Pirouette.

I chose this colour combination from the Fancy Frost Sequins which I’d intended to use on the card but it was a little too much … just a few of the smallest rhinestones was enough and the heart in the centre of the large star is from the metallic enamel shapes.

I’ve painted clear wink of stella onto the Soft Sky star to give it a little extra sparkle and it truly does look lovely.

If you are coming to my Christmas Stamp A Stack today you’ll get to make this sweet card as well as 2 other designs.   It’s not too late – you can contact me up till midday to register and class starts at 1.30pm.

If you cant make today maybe you’d like to book a workshop in October and this could be your make and take – simply contact me to arrange your date and I’ll get a party pack to you as soon as possible.

Grateful

Good Morning.

I hope you are having a lovely Christmas weekend and sharing it with loved ones – this time of year truly makes us grateful for those still with us and grateful for the memories we have with those no longer here.  I’m grateful to have spent this past week with my sister and my Dad and their friends and family.  We havent had Christmas together in quite a number of years so it’s been a real blessing to be here.

Today I have a card we made recently in the Remarkable You Stamp A Stack …

CallaLilyMasked

This is such a quick and easy card to do.

Here’s what I did …

  1. I simply stamped the Lily image in black and coloured the stamens
  2. I daubered a little yellow around the stamens.
  3. I masked my flowers and then lightly sponged all over in blue.
  4. Stamp the greeting in Basic Black and then adhered the layers.

Told you it was quick and easy!

Have you tried masking?  It’s very easy and I’d love to show you how!  Contact me to book into my masking class coming in January or to arrange your own party or workshop for you and your friends.

Thanks for stopping by and see you latte ….

Oh Christmas Tree

Dont you hate it when you put off or schedule to do things later online and bundle certain tasks together that all need to be done online only to find when you go to do them online there is a service outtage so no access to internet?  and no they didnt even know it was down till we rang and sorry not sure how long.

How would we be if our boss asked us to do something and we replied no cant do it now and not sure when I can get it done.  I know it’s first world problems but in this day and technology age you’d think they’d have systems in place to notify them that service is down and what the issue is or could be.

Not to worry I’m back online (yay!) and not putting off those things I’d had planned for yesterday …. two orders in and here I am blogging! Next on the agenda is a couple of newsletters so stay tuned for those!

Today I have my last card for my Lots of Joy Christmas Stamp A Stack ….

MerryBanners
I do love how this card turned out and it’s one I cased from the lovely Diana Gibbs.  I had the pleasure of meeting Di on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip on the Carribbean Cruise in 2014 – she is such a sweet sweet lady!

The products I used for this card are …

  • Now see under the products listed there’s a ‘supply list’ link?  You can download that list and save it for when you want to place an order – how cool is that?

Now speaking of Christmas we have our new Holiday Catalogue starting on 1st September and it’s jam packed full of Christmas goodies and it just so happens I got my Catalogue order yesterday so if you’d like a copy be sure to let me know! You can add a comment on this post or click here to email me … or the  phone works too – well now it does!

    Remember ….

  • This week’s weekly deals finish tonight
  • Place an order of $60 or more and receive a free gift (use Hostess Code D2TJEYSQ)
  • Join my Stampin’ Up! team and select items from Holiday Catalogue in August before they go live!
