Flutter Drawers

Hello Everyone!

I do hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and Boxing Day.  I am loving this cooler Victorian weather – I cant remember the last time I had to put a jumper on on Christmas Day! Actually I dont think I ever have before this year.

I thought I’d pop in today and share a little gift I made as one of my Secret Santa presents. I loved making this little project and love how it turned out.

This is the top of the box.

I’ve used the Tea Party Designer Series Papers on the top and then layered a scalloped circle in Regal Rose and a circle in Whisper White. I’ve cut the scalloped circle and circle using the Big Shot. The stamps here are all from Flight of the Butterfly and the awesome new Butterfly Punch from the new Summer Mini Catalogue.

I have found that when stamping with the Flight of the Butterfly Stamp set you ‘need’ a Stamp-a-ma-jig. The Stamp-a-ma-jig is one of those ‘must need’ tools and everyone really should have one.

Here is the box looking from the side showing a drawer and the ‘handle’ being one of the metal flower brads from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

Here you can see some of the drawers open and can get a better idea how it all goes together.

Once the box is completed you can then fill the little drawers with anything you like – for example I’ve put in some brads, buttons, flower fusion and flowers from the pretties kits.

You could also put in some little messages or notes of encouragement, some jewellry like a bracelet, earrings or a necklace.

I will be running this project as a class in February so please make sure you contact me and register for the class … more details will follow when I return from holidays.

Summer Dragonfly

I shared on Tuesday the gorgeous Frienship Folder well tomorrow I’m doing a Stamp A Stack where the ladies asked for cards using stamp sets from the new Summer Mini Catalogue. I had a great time creating the cards last night and want to share with you one of them today.

DragonflyHappinessI just love how this card turned out! Its so simple yet elegant at the same time.

I’ve started with stamping the dragonfly from Nature’s Nest in Jet Black Stazon Ink onto Watercolor Paper. I’ve coloured him in using my aqua painter and the ink from the Classic Stampin’ Ink Pads.  The Happiness sentiment (from Warm Words stamp set) is stamped in Not Quite Navy ink.  The dragonfly image is then layered on Bashful Blue then Not Quite Navy. I’ve layered a piece from Urban Garden Designer Series Paper and dressed it up with a lovely piece of white grosgrain ribbon. Simple hey?

Now with my share the other day I talked about the blue eggs and yes as some of you shared it was the Robin I was thinking of and originally thought the Emu to have blue eggs however on researching their eggs seem to be more of a dark Jade shade.

I did some research on the dragonfly too while doing this card last night. It seems that if you are given a dragonfly that you should then hear ‘good news’ and I do have some good news for you today!

It appears that a few of the popular products from the Spring Mini Catalogue are still available for purchase even though the sales period for the mini is now over. Now not only are they still available but these products will also be available in next year’s Idea Book & Catalogue.

Here is a list of the still-available products:

Item # Item Price
112534 Jumbo brads 5/16″ Neutrals Assortment $15.50
112533 Jumbo brads 5/8″ Neutrals Assortment $13.50
114889 Scallop Oval punch $30.95
106960 StazOn ink pad (White pad and refill) $22.95
109196 StazOn Cleaner $9.95

How good is that??

So if these are items you’d like to still get and didnt get a chance in the Spring Mini Catalogue then you can still order them – pretty cool huh?

Just a reminder that if you want anything ordered and to you before Christmas you will need to get your orders and payment to me by 11th December – thats this friday! Also, here’s some more good news, any orders placed and paid for this week (before 11th December) I will pay the postage & handling for you.

Also, I am taking a holiday! Yes you read it right! I will be going to visit my family in Victoria for Christmas so will be leaving here on 20th December and will return back to working on 11th January, 2010.

Timely Sketch Challenge

Time … well thats something that I dont have a lot of lately! DSC57

These past couple of weeks have been very busy for me and I’m grateful that after consulting my diary last night that I have a quiet week coming up. Maybe I’ll be able to find some time to do some Christmas Shopping or maybe I should just give everyone stamps??

Yesterday I attended Stampin’ Up! Regional Training in Sydney and I had the best time – I even managed to get all the make n takes made – the first time I’ve done this at a Stampin’ Up! event since joining. We used new stamps from the upcoming Summer Mini Catalogue and they are very cute to say the least and I’ll show you those projects during the next few days.

Here is this weeks sketch and here is my card …

DSC57I wanted to do a masculine card as I wanted a card to send my dad for his birthday.  Living over 1000 kilometres from my parents and sister make it hard to see them as often as I’d like so I like to make their cards a little more special.

I love the Sense of Time stamp set and havent used it as much as I’d like and I love collage stamping so I thought I’d combine the two for this Challenge. If you do like the Sense of Time stamp set then you’ll need to purchase it by the end of November as the Spring Mini Catalogue finishes  and this set will no longer be available after 30th November.

One of the requirements for this week’s sketch was to use window sheets but since we dont have them here in Australia I couldnt use them. Maybe we will get some in the Winter/Autumn Mini Catalogue due out in April 2010. I’ve seen lots of lovely things made with them and hope we get some too so we can play with them too!

This card has a few different techniques – Masking, Collage, Pastel (chalk) popping and sponging – all the things I love to do!

If you think you’d like a go at collage stamping then I would just love to show you how I do it so why not contact me for my Collage Class or Technique Class or I can come and do a demonstration for you and your friends. I guarantee you’ll all have a great time and enrich those friendships you already have.

As Easel As …

I’ve been seeing quite a few of these Easel cards of late and have wanted to try one for some time now so took the opportunity while stamping with the lovely Kerri Hunter who came to visit from Victoria this past week.

EaselCard

I’m not sure why but when I see a new style of card (well new to me) I always think how nice they are and that I’d like to make one but they are probably fiddly or too involved.

I was pleasantly surprised when I found out just how easy these cards really are so dont be surprised if you see a few more in the future!

This card on the left is the front view and I’ve gone and used the ever faithful Snow Swirled stamp set.  I’m not really a ‘snow’ or ‘cold’ Christmas card person but I really do love working with snowflakes.

The colours I’ve used are Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze and Close to Cocoa and were actually inspired by some cards Kerri had shared on her blog. I’ve also added a few white little snowflakes on the base of the card.

EaselSideOnHere is a side view of the card so you can see how it stands up and why its called an Easel Card.

To make the card stand up you simply use a brad as a point to where to lay the bottom of the card.

EaselFlatYou can actually mail this card flat as you can see by this last photo.

These cards are super easy to make and I’d love to show you how – contact me today to book your workshop.

Want to purchase the products to make this card?  this is what you will need …

  • Snow Swirled Stamp Set
  • Chocolate Chip Cardstock
  • Baja Breeze Cardstock
  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Baja Breeze Classic Stampin’ Pad
  • Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad
  • Two way glue pen
  • Dazzling Diamonds
  • Rhinestone Brad

During November when you place an outside order of $50 or more you will go into the draw for a free Forest Friends stamp set.  An outside order is an order that is not placed as part of a workshop or demonstration. So contact me today to place your order and be entered into the draw for this gorgeous free set.

Dont forget the Spring Mini Catalogue finishes November 30 so if there is anything in there that you still ‘need’ then contact me today to order it before its too late!

Parisian Love

Well after Tuesday stinkin hot 40C day Wednesday’s 20C was a nice relief and now today its raining – this is a good thing for the gardens and the fish pond out the front as the water level was going down with that very hot Tuesday we had.

ParisianLoveWhat better way to spend a rainy day than stamping! Well I cant hang the washing out can I??

Here is the last card I made last week with my Dreams du Jour stamp set.

With the Spring Mini finishing at the end of this month I thought I’d better use some more of the very yummy Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This card is very easy to make and the colouring is easy too and its sooo therapeutic.

I’ve just used the Pretty in Pink in the centre of the flower and butterflies, then used Baja Breeze then Close to Cocoa on the edges of the butterfly wings.

If you would like to see the recipe for this card then just click on the image and it will take you to the project information on my Stampin Up! Demonstrator Website.

So if there is still something in the Spring Mini Catalogue that you dont have and ‘need’ to have email or ring me today to place your order!

Diva Sketch Challenge 54

Good Morning .. its another sunny Saturday here in Sydney and I’m posting early today as I have a Stamp A Stack this afternoon.

DSC54I love doing these sketches!

I find that with a sketch you can do just about anything with it – youre not limited to colours or stamp sets or themes and as soon as I saw this one I knew exactly what ‘stamp’ I was going to use just not what colours or papers etc.

I sorted my cards out the other day and found I’ve only made 23 Christmas cards – apart from those I carry in my work trolley to demonstrations and I probably have another 12 or so there. So I figured I’d make some more Christmas cards to show you and here is the card I made for this Sketch.

DSC54LPJBlogIt has very little stamping on it and so quick and easy to make! I think I’ll be making a few more of these between now and December!

I’ve just used the Peace Love Joy stamp from Occassional Greetings stamp set and stamped it in Ridinghood Red and embossed it.

Now you might say “how do you emboss with the Dye/Classic Ink pads? well … you ink your stamp up in versamark first then ink again on the colour you want. Stamp your image as you normally would and cover with clear embossing powder, shake of excess and heat with your heat gun.

Inking up your stamp with versamark with not hurt your classic pad as it is a clear embossig pad and the embossing powder with cling to the versamark you’ve just used – you just need to remember to clean your stamp before doing these steps again or else you’ll end up with a red patterened versamark pad!

To choose the colours of cardstock for my card I just go buy the colours in the Designer Series Paper pack that I’ve used. With this card I’ve used the Ski Slope DSP and I just love the Baja Breeze with the Real Red!  This pack finishes at the end of November as does all the other gorgeous items in the Spring Mini Catalogue so if there is anything you want or ‘need‘ then please contact me today so you dont miss out!

Hope you like this card as much as I do!

Secret Stampin Sister

Morning All!!

Another lovely sunny day here and its forecast to be another hot one … better get the washing out and dry before that ‘late thunder storm’ hits.

Today I’m sharing with you the first card I received from my ‘Secret Stampin’ Sister’.

Secret Stampin' Sister Card

Secret Stampin' Sister Card

As you know I run a yahoogroup for Australian & New Zealand demonstrators and we’ve recently started a ‘Secret Stampin’ Sister Swap’. You are allocated one demonstrator to send card and gifts to for 3 months and the current round goes to end of December.

Now I’d really love to show you what I made for my Secret Stampin’ Sister however I dont want to spoil it for her and let her know who I am until the end of December! So you’re just going to have to wait until January to see what I created ;)

This card is a lovely card and I just love getting happy mail in my letterbox!  Its done using the lovely Great Friend stamp set in the Spring Mini Catalogue.

Just a reminder that the Spring Mini Catalogue finishes at the end of November so if there is anything in there that you ‘need’ you will have to order it before its too late!

So thank you to my ‘Secret Stampin’ Sister’ for my first card!

Elegant Prayers

Good Morning!!

Today I’m off to do a Stamp A Stack for one of my Aunts and I’m sure the other Aunt will be there too … and hopefully some apple pie!

This is a card that I made a few weeks back for a demonstration for some local church ladies. This card has a few layers to it however the end result is very elegant and its not hard at all!

eggplantpaleplumprayersHopefully the ladies today will agree with me!

It just uses the lovely Thoughts and Prayers stamp set and I decided that I hadnt made a ‘purple’ card for a while so I had better before I forgot how!

I’ve used the Eyelet Border Punch along the bottom of the Pale Plum piece which I’ve then daubered around the edge in Perfect Plum.

The sentiment is stamped in Elegant Eggplant which was then punched with the large oval punch and then layered on a elegant eggplant piece which has been punched with the scalloped circle punch from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

The main image was done using the Stampin Write markers direct onto the stamp and then stamping it onto the Very Vanilla piece. Then without reinking I’ve huffed and stamped on the long thin piece twice. I’ve then daubered the edges of both panels with the pale plum ink.

This card makes a great card for any occassion – not just for prayers. You can put any sentiment on the oval piece for whatever occassion you have need of a card for.

Christmas Petal

Sorry I havent posted in a few days.  This past weekend I spent down at Kiama Downs with a few of my Stamp A Latte team for some ‘faux’ training! I call it this as it was such a great weekend and I got to meet and get to know a few ladies that I really only knew by name till now!

I have been so blessed with my Stampin’ Up! business its brought such wonderful people into my life and it continues to bless me each day. Now in saying this it doesnt just all fall in your lap – you do have to work at building your team and your customer base. I also had some great feedback from some of the girls who ran the Stampin’ Up! stand at the Papercrafts festival.

5PetalPoinsettiaChristmas

Here is a card I made last week and havent had a chance to share until now.  Its a very easy and simple Christmas card yet turns out so elegant!

This card has just one stamp and makes use of the gorgeous Stampin’ Up! punches.  The sentiment is from the Level 1 Hostess set Best Yet which you can earn for free just by holding a Stampin’ Up! workshop or demonstration. The patterned paper comes from the Candy Lane Designer Series Paper pack.

The Punches I’ve used here are the 5 petal flower punch and the scalloped oval punch. I’ve also added a Vanilla Taffeta bow to lift the card. I found the tutorial for these flowers at Paula Goff’s Blog.

Remember Stampin’ Up! has offered to donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for every new demonstrator plus you get a couple of bonuses for free. So if you’d like to find out more about becoming a demonstrator – even if its just to buy the awesome Stampin’ Up!® products at a discount for yourself – I would love to tell you all about Stampin’ Up! and how it has blessed me and my family so give me a call or send me an email or sms today!

Now I had better get to finishing the kits for tomorrow’s Stamp A Stack!

Sketchy Trees

Morning all! Its a gorgeous sunny day here in Sydney – I just love spring!

Its been another busy week so sorry for not posting more this week.

Its time for yet another Diva Sketch Challenge! DSC49

When I first saw this sketch I immediately thougth “OOOO no circles!” nah just kidding Carol!

Now the card I’d thought of first for this sketch just didnt happen but I did use my Trendy Tree stamp set that I was going to use so I hope you like the card I’ve done!

dsc49TreesSo here’s my card and yes I finally used my brayer!

I’ve been wanting to use my brayer more and used it here for the grass/hills. I hope to find time soon to use it more and share those creations with you.

The tree leaves on the tree on the right was done using the Stampin Write Markers. I inked up the leaves in baja breeze and the using the thumping technique with the Old Olive and Really Rust markers.

Recipe
Stamps: Trendy Trees
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine
Inks: Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, Old Olive
Accessories: Brayer, 5/16″ brads, stampin sponges, old olive stampin write marker, really rust stampin write marker.

Well I must be off and prepare and get ready for tonights demonstration.

Friends Forever

I’ve seen lots of cards made using acetate and have wanted to try one for a while and well I wasn’t sure where to start or what set to use. Then I noticed the little one on the front cover of our Spring Mini Catalogue.

AcetateFriend1If you look closely you will notice that I have added a few more accents to my card than that on the Mini Cover.  To work out the size I wanted to make I first measured the frame image from the Summer Love rub ons then added a nice margin. I then took 5mm off top, bottom and right side to give me the size of the whisper white insert.

All the rub ons I’ve used came from the Summer Love pack in the Spring Mini Catalogue – I love this set and they are such good value as you get two colour sheets in the pack and it coordinates so well with the Great Friend Stamp set and the Walk in the Park Designer Series Papers.

AcetateFriend2Here is a photo where you can see the shadow on the whisper white layer from those rub ons on the front of the acetate.

I’ve applied the ‘friends forever’ and frame to the front of the acetate piece. Then holding the whisper white piece in place I position the leaves  and small flowers on the whisper white layer.

My good friend Caz has made quite a few so I consulted her on how to assemble them so as not to have the adhesive showing. Now the one on the cover of the Spring Mini has a little baja breeze spine on it which I assume is to cover the adhesive. I didnt really like this way so I decided to use my handy dandy Crop-a-dile and punch a couple of holes and tie some ribbon through to secure it all together.

AcetateFriendInsideThe card opens to the lovely greeting from the great friend stamp set on the left and I’ve added some of the gorgeous butterflies, leaves and other accents.

I love how easy this card was to make and what a special card it then becomes!

If you would like to see how this card is made then why not arrange your very own demonstration and earn free stamps and Stampin’ Up! products while you have a fun evening with your friends stamping and make cards or gifts.

Dont forget about the free ribbon bundle with every $100 order and if your party qualifies then you get another free ribbon bundle!

How sweet is that??    Ring or email me today to arrange your demonstration.

Christmas Baubles

Its a bit of a dreary day here today so thought I’d share a little set of Christmas cards I’ve made. They are actually a case of the cards the USA Demonstrators made at their Convention recently in Utah.

White4x4RedGreen

These are just three very quick and easy Christmas cards. All the same design just a change in the colour and sentiment.

This one is done in the traditional Christmas colours of Red and Green and if you take a close look you will see I’ve added a Rhinestone brad to the smaller bauble.  The sentiment is embossed in Gold and is from the Many Merry Messages set.

White4x4BlueRedThis second card is done in Red and Blue – I love using blue with my Christmas cards so expect to see more Christmas cards using blue shades.

Same design and layout as the other just a change in the colours and greeting – the greeting on this card is from the Snow Swirled stamp set.

Here is the last one in this set and I made this card in these colours specifically for two very dear friends who love pink!

White4x4PinkGreen2The colours arent showing up too well but I’ve used Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery for the colours.

The greeting for this one comes from the Occassional Greetings Stamp Set.

Now I’m offering a class on this set .  Make 12 cards with matching envelopes for just $20.

Now I can do this class at my place or yours. If you want me to come to your house then you’ll need to have a minimum of 5 people attending – thats including you!

If you want to book in for the class at my house then please contact me as soon as possible to reserve your spot as my house is small and numbers are limited.

I am also offering a bundle for you to purchase to make these cards.
