Subtle Flowers

Its currently school holidays here at the moment so things are not going according to my routine as they usually do. I had a lazy day today so thought I’d give my blog a little makeover – what do you think?

You might remember in my last post the card I cased from the lovely Lynda Shrimpton – well Lynda is such a lovely friend she let me case a couple more cards – aint she sweet.  Most of my cards are my own creations and as I do many Stamp A Stacks I like to give my customers a few different choices when choosing what cards they wish to make so sometimes its nice to not have to think too hard – especially during school holidays!

Here are a couple of very easy cards using the Vintage Vogue stamp set.

How pretty and delicate is this card?

The flowers just trail down the card a bit like Jasmine on a fence or anything that stood still too long and too close!

This has to be one of the easiest cards I’ve made and the ladies on Sunday enjoyed making it too.  It is one of those cards that could be used for any occasion.

Recipe

Stamps: On Your birthday, Vintage Vogue
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, Whisper White
    Inks: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Mellow Moss Stampin Write Marker, Pretty in Pink Stampin Write Marker, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Stampin Dimensionals.

Now for the second card – another lovely soft card but in blue ….

This card is the same layout and design as the other just in the landscape orientation. I’ve also added a row of the lovely leafy edge image at the top and bottom of the panel in versamark.  The top and bottom of the white piece is daubered in Bashful Blue and a simple little sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.

Dont you just love the Soft Subtle range?  well if you answered yes and your a regular Stampin’ Up! customer you will know that many of the the Soft Subtle colours are retiring at the end of August.  However we have had a few colours start to run out already so if you’d like to grab some soft subtles before they are all gone I’d suggest you get your order in sooner rather than later.

If the single colours sell out dont forget you can still buy them in the mixed family packs!

Would you like to make these cards?

I still have a couple of places available for my Stamp A Stack here on Saturday 10th July so if you’d like to come contact me today to reserve your spot. Its just $20 for 9 cards – oh and some very yummy coffee … and I’ll even make you a cup in my new coffee cups!

    Painted Easel

Hello!!  Well I knew it had been a while since I’d posted but I had thought it was days rather than weeks! I am so sorry – we’ve had so much happening and I havent been 100% but now with super-charged meds I should be on the road to recovery – well lets hope so cos they cost $70!

Its Saturday so time for another Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge and another lovely sketch from the lovely Carol. I looked and looked at this sketch until I worked out what to do – I know its not a hard sketch but I wanted to do something a little different and this is what I came up with …

It suddenly dawned on me that I could do an Easel Card and I’d done one of these for Christmas but not for a general card and since I am now creating classes for Mother’s Day gifts I thought why not turn this into a Mother’s Day card!

It also happens to be my Mum’s birthday on 1st April so I can easily make this card into a lovely birthday card just by changing the sentiment!  Mum has always loved hydrangeas and has always had at least one plant of them in her garden if not a row of them! I am sure she’s had them at every house she’s lived in.

I love these Easel cards as they are so so so easy to make and when someone receives one they just ooo and aaah over them!

Now so you can see how they stand here is an image of the side view of the card when standing.

These cards flatten out for easy posting too – you might just have to include instructions on how to stand them up and show them off!

Now we are continuing with the Sketch round so now hop over to Lori’s blog to see what wonderful creation she has made this week.

Now my lovely husband has to go in for cataract surgery on Monday so I will be out at the hospital with him all day but will try to be back posting regularly again for you – I actually have some projects I havent posted yet so thats a good thing. If you dont mind please say a prayer for him (and me) on Monday.

    Soft Summer gift set

I’ve been playing this week with some templates and tutorials I got from Lauren Meader at Paper Trey Ink in her Timeless Templates range. She has some very good templates there and they all come with full colour ideas for the templates with lots of ideas and designs with them with full instructions and all for just US$5 – bargain in my book!

Here is a set I made using the “Get a Handle on it” template.

    GetAHandleSet

How sweet is this little set? I’ve just printed the templates out onto whisper white cardstock and stamped it in the Soft Subtles using the new Soft Summer stamp set that will be in the upcoming Spring Mini Catalogue.

GetAHandleBoxThis great little box is 8.5cm square so you could use it for lots of different gifts and it allows you to tailor it for different peoples’ likes and desires.

You could fill it with ….

        • candle
        • chocolatles
    • stamps
    • coffee
    • hot chocolate mix
    • small mug
    • cupcake
    • muffin
    • cookies
    • jewellry
    • embellishments

SoftSummerCardNow I have made this for a special friend so I’m hoping she will like this little box and whats inside!

Here is a small gift card to go with the gift.

I’ve done the white panel the same as the box and adhered it onto Certainly Celery. The oval sentiment is from All Oval stamp set – another great set from the upcoming Spring Mini Catalogue. I’ve used my Stampin Write Markers to colour the stamp direct onto the rubber and then stamped it onto whisper white and punched it out using the large oval punch. The scallop oval you see here will also be available from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

Email or ring me to put your name down on my mailing list for the Spring Mini Catalogue for when I post them out over the next couple of weeks.

HOpe you like this little set and if you’d like to make one of these then please dont hesitate to contact me for further details on this class.
