Cherished Times

Yes its Saturday and time for another Utah Divas Sketch Challenge and I do hope the other sketchy Divas had a great time at Leadership in Utah!

I am feeling a bit weary this afternoon after hitting the shops this morning to do the ‘back to school’ shopping … Uniforms, Shoes, Back Packs, Books, Pens, Pencils, etc – the list seems to get longer and longer each year!  My poor body is starting to seize up so I’ll take some meds and go rest up a bit after I finish this post.

Here is this week’s sketch ….

simple enough hey?? well i had a sneak peek at what the other girls made and wanted to do something a little different – so unlike me isnt it?? well you will be surprised to know that I rotated the sketch (is that you I can hear gasping??) and here is what I made …

Recipe
Stamps: Easy Events, Tiny Tags, You’re Cherished
Inks: Jet Black Stazon, Pear Pizzaz, Pool Party, Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Old Olive
Paper: Whisper White, Pool Party, Early Espresso, Spice Cake DSP (Summer Mini)
Accessories: 1/8″ White Taffeta ribbon, Whisper White Bakers Twine, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Modern Label Punch, Vintage Trinkets, sponges, aqua painter, stampin dimensionals

When I rotated the sketch all I could see is the sweet little grandfather clock from Easy Events – yes I used that set again!!  I did tell you that you’d see a few things made with it didnt I??

I do hope you like what I’ve made this week and be sure you pop over to the Utah Divas International Blog and see what the other girls have made.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Frosty Sketch

Good Morning and Happy Christmas Eve to you!!  I do hope you’ve managed to get everything done and dont have to race around madly today and can put your feet up a bit and take it easy.

Here is this week’s sketch for the Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge …

Divas Sketch Challenge 168

Now the twist with this week’s sketch is that we had to use the sketch on a shaped card – so it couldnt be on a regular rectangle or square card.  Bit sneaky but then I got to thinking and remembered my telescoping cards I made back in September and gave it a Christmas theme!

How cute is this guy??

I’ve rotated the sketch so the vertical lines become horizontal and become Frosty’s arms.  I just love making these Telescoping cards!!

Here’s the card opened …

I love this guy and I love giving my circle scissor a run too – makes the best circles and for any size you want!  You can grab the glass mat for the circle scissor for just $26.57 as part of the December Frenzy!  Thats a whoppin 30% off!

Now dont forget to pop over to the Utah Divas International Blog to see the gorgeous cards the other Divas have created.

Diva ‘scrappy’ Presents

Good Afternoon and welcome to another Utah Divas Sketch Challenge.

This is this week’s sketch …

Sketch challenge 167

Now seeing this sketch you’re thinking Christmas and Baubles arent you??

Well I went a little different and here is my card …

I have some scraps of the Letters from Santa DSP so decided to use them on this card.

This is also another of those ‘queasy’ cards and I’ve also used scraps to do the ‘bows’ on the presents – I simply punched the triple flower punch and cut the flower in half to create the ribbons and added a rhinestone jewel for a little bling!

I have to make some Christmas cards as I dont have the number I want to send out so here’s the same card but with a red polka dot ribbon …

Hope you like my ‘gift card’ and be sure to pop over to the Utah Divas International blog to see what the other girls have created.

Spicey Notes

Happy Saturday to you! I hope you are well and if you’re anything like me your busy preparing for Christmas with shopping and what not.  We got our tree up last night – funny story as hubby wanted a 5 foot tree and we sorta ended up coming home with a 7 foot tree! Thats ok cos it was in sections so we just left one section out and wallah – instant 5 foot tree!! So glad he only got the box of 300 Christmas Tree lights and not the box of 600 lights!!

Now being Saturday its time for another Sketch challenge from Utah Divas International group and here is this week’s sketch …

Now I can see you imagining a lovely simple Christmas card with some snowflakes – right??

Well thats what I thought to start with but then my mind started to wander and since tomorrow I have a Project Class on I wanted to make something with this sketch – something that could be used either by the ladies coming or given as a gift for Christmas and this is what I came up with ….

I’ve used the new Spiced Cake DSP in the new Summer Mini Catalogue and I just love this paper and can see me going through quite a few packs over the next few months!

This would make a great gift for Mums, Dads, or students on their desk or maybe even as a Teacher Thank You gift.  It could lie flat on your desk or pop a couple of magnets on the back and attach it to the fridge.

I hope you like this little message centre and I hope the ladies like it tomorrow too!

Dont forget to stop by the Utah Divas International Blog for links to what the other Designing Divas have created with this sketch.

Happiest Birthday

Happy Sketchy Saturday!!

Well here we are with another Utah Divas Sketch Challenge and I’ve been good and not twisted or turned or done anything to the Sketch this week!!

Mind you, I did hit a bit of a hurdle as the stamp I wanted to use for this card was missing from the set I wanted to use but being its from Stampin Up! I wont have a problem getting it replaced :)

Here is this week’s Sketch …

Diva Sketch Challenge 162

Looks a bit like a porthole doesnt it??

I was in Canberra last weekend for Stampin’ Up! Regional training and one of the make and takes was quite similar and since I hadnt actually made the card up I decided to use the pack for today’s card – was rather nice of Stampin’ Up! to do that for me wasnt it??

Anywho here is my card …

I did change a couple of the colours from the Stampin’ Up! make n take and changed the Stamp Set as well as they’d used Big Top which I’m still a little unsure about!  I also thought putting the greeting in the circle rather than an image changed it around a tad and we dont always think to make the greeting the main focus on a card.

This image shows how the card opens – its a bit like opening a Birthday Present isnt it?? I love how this card turned out and I love the effect of the Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon under the Pretty in Pink Cardstock.

The Scalloped Circle you see used here is from the Perfect Pennants die which happens to be on sale this month as part of the “Sale to Die for” promotion so grab it today and save!

I hope you like my card and please make sure you pop over to the Utah Divas International Blog so you can go visit the other ladies on the Design Team and see what they came up with!

Creative Elements

My apologies for getting my Sketch card up so late – I do hope all the Divas forgive me.

Yesterday I woke with a touch of the flu so yesterday was a bit of a struggle to get everything done and October is a very busy month so really dont have time to be ill but then do we ever have time to be sick?? I had my monthly Stamp A Stack yesterday so couldnt go back to bed even though I really wanted to but did end up crashed in my recliner not long after the ladies left and this is why one eats dinner at 9pm!

Anyhoo … Here is this week’s Sketch

Easy enough hey?

I love the simplicity of this Sketch and here is what I (eventually) came up with as my brain wasnt working so well …

Subtle Elements

Recipe:
Stamps: Creative Elements
Paper: Purfect Plum, Bashful Blue, Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride
Inks: Versamark, Basic Black, Purfect Plum, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Stampin Sponges, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Stampin Dimensionals

Well I must have been unwell … did you notice I didnt rotate it or adjust it in any way!!

I do hope you like my card and make sure you stop by the Utah Divas International Blog and see what the other Divas created!

Divas Sketch #155

Hey … well what a change in the weather .. we had a hot 32°C yesterday and today its just 20°C forecast – talk about crazy weather!!

We are at Saturday again so that means another Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge and here is today’s sketch – which is brought to us by the lovely Tammy …

Easy enough right???

Well I really struggled with this one and even rotating it didnt help! Then I remembered a card I’d seen online last week and do you think I could remember where?? nup!!

So here’s my take on this week’s sketch ….

I really needed something simple today as I woke with a horrid headache – which I might add is still hanging on even after going back to bed this morning … I thought I’d been going so well as I hadnt had one for a couple of weeks.

I do like the simplicity of this card and it has just one stamp and highlights the new In Colour ruffled ribbon – isnt it gorgeous?? Oh and the new In Colour Printed Designer Brads – these are delish and you will need a pack once you see them up close :)

I also designed this card so it would fit in our gorgeous square envelopes (14cmx14cm) and make for a larger card for someone special!

I do hope you like my card and dont forget to stop by the Utah Divas International Blog to check what the other designing Divas have created!

Diva Sketch chocolates

I know this is coming a little late but I’m sure its still Saturday somewhere in USA … well maybe just ;)

This past couple of weeks have been crazy with school holidays, rearranging my craft area and suffering sinus infections and a very unsettled stomach – felt like Yasi has made its way inside my tummy yesterday …. so not good!

Here is this week’s sketch …

Yup … circles again!! I’m sure Carol laughs at me everytime she draws a sketch that has circles in it!  Well thats ok cos I’ll just change and flip it to suite me ;)

Here is my card for this sketch ….

I had a customer who wanted to make an Easter card so when I saw this sketch a couple of ideas popped into my head – scary I know!

I’ve used the new build a cupcake punch but would like to let you know these are chocolates/truffles on the card and not cupcakes as my teen daughter will tell you.  Its her birthday on wednesday so maybe I should buy her some chocolates that come in the little paper cases.

This card was so easy to do using the cupcake punch, circle punch and the new decorative label punch for the greeting.

I hope you like this card as much I did making it – its such a fun card

Now its time to hop along to the next designing diva being the lovely Ruthie Burkey and dont forget you can find the others plus many more challenges at the Utah Divas Blog.

Strength & Hope

Good Evening!!

I know I’m coming to you a little late today however we’ve been out trying to find me a new workbench – a nice long one so I have plenty of room to make a mess create and store all my tools and such.  We have decided to go with the one we’d chosen from Ikea a little while ago but be sure you’ll see pictures once I’ve cleared the area and have the new table and its all set up and before I make a creative mess!

Now onto this week’s sketch for the Utah Divas Internation Sketch challenge # 130 …

As you know we had the new Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue start on 1st April and one of the ‘must have’ sets in the new mini is the Strength & Hope stamp set.  Now this is not just ‘another’ stamp set – this one is very special and worth the purchase whether you are a stamper or not!  You see its been designed for a very special purpose – and not just for Australia but for Stampin’ Up! worldwide!  This set was created to raise funds for Breast Cancer Research and while anyone raises funds for Breast Cancer Research this also creates awareness of just how this illness affects so many people and just why it is so very very important that us women check our breasts regularly. So for every set that is sold throughout the world Stampin’ Up! will donate $2 to that countries National Breast Cancer Research Foundation – dont you just love how Stampin’ Up! do whatever they can to help those in need whether its from Tsunami’s, Floods, Fires, Hurricanes or Breast Cancer! I dont know a company that gives back as much as Stampin’ Up! does.

Oh yeah … the sketch … the card … whoops!

Here is my card that I created using the Strength & Hope set and this week’s sketch …

I have to say I love how this turned out! I surprised myself and I even surprised myself more when created my own little corner frame from the flourish stamp and all by accident!  I wanted to stamp the image close to the edge so i could punch out the little pink heart and it turned out on an angle on the scrap piece of cardstock and when I saw it I immediately thought “oh what a cool corner frame”!  Sometimes the best ideas do actually come out of nowhere!

I also wanted a ‘special’ butterfly and the single layer one wasnt doing it for me so I thought some acetate wings would go nice and give it a ‘floating’ effect.  Here’s a close up …

This just shows the dimension of the butterfly not to mention those gorgeous pearls and a bit of the corner frame.

Now dont forget to stop by the other Sketchy Divas and leave some comment love – cos we allll love comments! The next blog on the list is the lovely Ruthie Burkey or you can visit via the Utah Divas International Blog.

Now for all Strength & Hope stamp sets I sell not only will Stampin’ Up! donate $2 to the National Breast Cancer Research Foundation but I too will dontate $2 to the National Breast Cancer Research foundation. So contact me today to place your order and help raise funds for Breast Cancer Research.

Scalloped Moments

Wow!

What a day!

I had my monthly Stamp A Stack here today and had two new girls join us which in turn gave us a full table – I might have to put this on twice a month if more people wish to come – how cool would that be? I just love this job and being able to do it when it suites me and my family is just a double bonus.

Its been a busy day and I’m so grateful that I managed to do my Utah Divas Sketch Challenge card on Thursday :)

Here is this week’s sketch ….

OOOhhhh Scallops!!

When I saw this I thought this was the perfect time to use my Scallop Square die in my Big Shot – mind you I’ve had it for a month or so and hadnt used it yet so this was the perfect opportunity!

Here is my card …

Scalloped Moments

Yes I know … I’ve used Every Moment Stamp Set yet again but I just love that set!

Now you might notice that my scalloped square is not really a square on my card.  What I did was cut out a square using the die and then I moved the square along within the scallops and ran it through again to create the scalloped rectangle.  Easy :) so now you have two uses for the scalloped square die!

Now this die is in the Summer Mini which finishes on 31st March so if you want it or anything else in the mini then make sure you get your order to me before the end of the month – and dont forget the 10% discount that you get if you order with me before 31st March. All purchases of $100 or more also earn Sale•A•Bration sets as well so dont miss out on the discount AND the free sets!

Now why dont you play along with this week’s sketch?  Just click on the sketch above to go to the Utah Divas International Blog and feel free to post your link in a comment here – I’d love to see what you make with it!  I’ll send a RAK to anyone who plays along and posts a comment with their link.

Now the next Designing Diva is the lovely Ruthie Burkey so be sure to stop by her blog and see her lovely creation … oh and dont forget to say hello!

Builder Sketch

Well hello and welcome to another Utah Diva Sketch Challenge albeit a little late.

Here is this week’s sketch ….

Diva Sketch Challenge 126

This week’s sketch really had me stumped for a while and I’d seen so many cards lately with the swirly plant image from the Sweet Summer Sale•A•Bration set that I wanted to use it before Sale•A•Bration is over!

This past week I received my Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue pre-order and I thought I’d sneak the two gorgeous Builder Wheels I got in my pre-order into this card.

That is one of the best things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is that not only do you get the catalogues one month before release but you can also place a pre-order from that catalogue so you have plenty of time to make lots of delish samples to show your blog readers and customers.

I will have lots of more samples to come over the upcoming weeks but for now here is today’s card …

Builder Bliss

Now after making the card I shared on Thursday I had to use my Itty Bitty Shapes Punches again and thought this time I’d team them up with the Bitty Buttons.  I saw this colour combination on Gretchen Barron’s site this past week and immediately fell in love so saved it for my memory bank so to speak.

From the photo you cant see the buttons so well but they really do make the card pop.

The strips I stamped with the Builder Wheels are Delight in Gladness in Melon Mambo and Butterfly Bliss in Peach Parfait. I just added some strips in Old Olive and Melon Mambo which I ran through the Crimper.

The more I look at this card I do like it more and more!

Now the next person in the Diva Sketch Challenge list is the lovely Ruthie B so be sure to pop by her blog and see what lovely creation she has made this week!
