Swinging into Christmas

Can you believe its less than 4 weeks to Christmas? how scary is that?

Today was my “Christmas Cards with More” class and the ladies enjoyed making the cards which is always nice. One of the cards they made was this lovely Swing Card …

To create this card I used the faithful Season of Joy stamp set with a little help from Christmas Classics.

I followed the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers but found their sizes would not fit in our regular C6 envelopes so I went to resizing and converting to metric. After a few alterations I came up with a card and sizing I was happy with.

This card is called a Swing card due to the centre panel swinging around as you open the card.

Here’s the open card …

I love this card – its simple enough but a nice card to send to someone special.

Dont forget Season of Joy is part of the ‘Dress Up Christmas’ promotion where when you purchase Season of Joy and the So Swirly wheel you will receive a free roll of ribbon. If you’d like to order this or any other bundle please do not hesitate to contact me – this promotion finishes 30th November so be sure to contact me before Tuesday.

I hope you like this card and if you’d like to learn how to make this card please email or ring me to book in for the “2011 Movers Card Class” which will be held in January, 2011.

Christmas Bauble

Whew!  What a busy few days its been!

I’ve had three days of Stamp A Stacks and talk about busy and on the go and I must say after yesterday morning’s trip along the M5 I am so grateful I dont have to drive in peak hour traffic every day!

Here’s a Christmas card made using the lovely Season of Joy stamp set and I am happy to let you know this set will be in the new Idea Book & Catalogue

This is a very easy card to make and two of my Stamp A Stack classes made it and were very pleased with their creations. They were surprised at just how easy it was to make and that always makes me happy :)   Its great when someone sees a card and thinks its really hard and the look on their face when they have re-created it is something special. You may have seen this card featured on Libby’s blog on Sunday.

You may have noticed I have a new tab up the top - Last Chance List.  If you go to this page you will find a link to the Last Chance List and also a list of the products which are low in supply and also those that have already run out.  So please check there regularly so if there is anything running low and you ‘need’ it to contact me as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.

Joyful Sketch

Diva Sketch Challenge #52Hello and welcome to another Saturday and another Diva Sketch Challenge!

This one is a little different and it wasnt until I’d finished my card that I saw the ‘top’ bit …. oh well.

I’m sure Carol is used to me by now in rotating and changing and swapping and well just anything else and it is a challenge – lol maybe she thinks I’m her challenge??

I had to make a card using Season of Joy for a Stamp A Stack tomorrow at my sister’s house so I thought I’d combine the two and here’s my card.

Joyful SketchI was rather happy with the way it came out and I will apologise to my sister tomorrow for the ‘extra’s’.

She did say traditional Christmas colours but I couldnt help myself – i just had to add the Ballet Blue as it just breaks it up a little. She will also hate that I put some ribbon in there too but the ribbon just lifts it a little.

Recipe:
Stamps: Season of Joy
Paper: Old Olive, Ridinghood Red, Whisper White, Brocade Blue
Inks: Old Olive, Ridinghood Red, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon

I hope you like this card and if you’d like to get started on your Christmas cards give me a call to book in for your Stamp A Stack!

Season of Joy

With November nearly over this means that Spring too is coming to an end and Summer is just around the corner. Not just in our seasons but also in our Mini Catalogues! The current Spring Mini Catalogue will finish on Sunday so if you want to order anything now is the time to do so – before its too late.

One set from the Spring mini which I have deliberated getting is Season of Joy. Its a truly lovely set and the images included in this set could be used for other things so its not just a Christmas set although it really does make it easy to make pretty Christmas cards!

I found a great tutorial on my good friend Patty Bennett’s blog and made up this little gift card holder. Patty has some wonderful ideas and designs on her blog and I just love seeing what she comes up with. I have adjusted mine so its all in centimetres so if you’d like a copy of the instructions I’ll include it in your next order.

These are very easy to make and a great way to jazz up giving gift cards at Christmas.

I do love gift cards as they take all the hassle out of Christmas shopping and then the recipient can buy whatever they want – my girls love to get them as then they too get to go shopping and spend the money on them and whatever they want – well as long as mum says so!!

I’ve coloured the block stamp in with my Stampin Write markers so I can choose what colour goes where.

I do love my markers and I’m grateful for this month’s promotion where you can buy the single markers for just $4.95 as some of my markers are showing the signs of being well loved! So I am able to buy the single pens to enable them to all look brand new.  If you would like to get some single markers then there is still time so you’ll need to ring or email me by Friday.

This is the inside of the card holder. I’ve just used the flourish around the edges and then stamped the tiny flower in randomly and used the Christmas greeting on the left side. I’ve slotted in one of my business cards to show you how the gift card would sit and look like. The curve in the holder was done using the oval punch.

I am a bit sad that I didnt make more cards using this Season of Joy stamp set but as they say all good things must come to an end and as one door closes another opens.

So the doors to the Spring Mini Catalogue will soon be closed and locked so make sure you have another look of the Spring Mini Catalogue so you dont miss out on anythig you may ‘need’. Just click on the Spring mini in the sidebar to view the catalogue online.
