Wonderful Tulips

Last month I was very blessed by a dear friend in  USA who sent me a ‘care’ package – it contained a pack of Wisteria Wonder Cardstock and a Wisteria Wonder Ink Pad – how blessed am I??

I also had a customer ask for a workshop focusing on different ways to use the Owl Punch and after some research found some gorgeous ideas and one in particular was this beautiful tulip flower …

How sweet is this card??

It is rather easy to do – just a little fiddly with the punched petals but once they are done its super easy!  Since I was making a tulip how could I not complete the card without using the Tulip Frame embossing folder?

The leaves are done using the wide oval punch – too easy!

Notice the flower and it looks a little shimmery?? well thats cos we painted some gorgeous White Shimmer paint over the top using the aqua painter and it just glistens!

This is a sweet simple card and one the ladies loved when they finished making it. I will also be holding some punchart classes over the next few weeks so keep an eye out for those!

Now I have a nice little display with all my creations using the Owl Punch which I’ll share with you over the next couple of days.

Punch your scraps out

I hope you’ve had a wonderful Tuesday and that things arent too wet where you are. We’ve had a couple days of light soaking rain which is great for the gardens and the catchment areas but no so good for the washing!

Today I am sharing with you a very simple and sweet card which could be adapted for any occasion.

Its just a Pink Pirouette base which I’ve used the Eyelet Border punch down the front edge. I’ve slipped in a Whisper White piece inside the card so you can see the pretty eyelet border.

I’ve then just grabbed some of my Designer Series Paper scraps/off cuts and used the Heart 2 Heart punch and punched a heap of the three sized hearts out. I’ve then attached these randomly to a Whisper White piece which has been distressed using the Cutter kit.  Some of the heart are stuck flat and then I’ve raised 4 or so hearts using my lovely Stampin Dimensionals.

Card Recipe

Hopping into Easter

OOOO did you know that Easter is just 3 weeks away?? yup so you better get your lists to the Easter Bunny so he (or she) can spoil you this Easter. Actually thinking about it the Easter Bunny must be a ‘she’ cos could a he really be organised so well and get so many eggs to so many people at the same time? no I dont think so either!!

Firstly let me thank everyone for their messages and prayers for my husbands cataract surgery last week. He’s had some discomfort yet is amazed at how he can now see many things he just couldn’t see before. He still has to be careful with his eye and there is still lots of healing to be done. So please keep those prayers going.

Its Saturday again so that means another Sketch Challenge from the Utah Divas International group.

This one has many possibilities however as I have a Stamp A Stack on Monday and they’ve asked for ‘kids’ Easter cards I figured I may as well use the sketch for one of the cards.

I have also used my punches to create the ‘bunny’ and I followed the instructions by Amy Celona which you can find here.

As you can see there is minimal stamping on the card – just using the Egg Hunt Stampin’ Round and a Teeny Tiny Sentiment from one of the upcoming stamp sets in the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue which starts 1st April.

I do hope you like this card and I encourage you to ‘hop‘ onto the next Diva with her creation for this sketch which is Lori

Now dont forget to hop around all the blogs for the Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge Team.  You will find links to the next blog at the end of each post like I’ve done here.
