Perfect Plum Duo

I’ve had a busy week this week and its still not over! Still have a Business Launch for my newest Latte Irene tonite and a workshop on Sunday to go!

Yesterday I did a workshop for some friends I used to go to Church with some 30 years ago a very long time ago and we had a ball!

Veronica wanted to see some things made with the Big Shot machine so I just had to oblige!! I shared all the things I’ve made recently from cards and top note frames to boxes of all shapes and sizes!

Here is what we did for our make n take ….

Pretty Butterflies & Pillow Box

Such a cute little set dont you think??

I taught the girls how to do the two tone embossing with the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders and they just loved it!

Here’s a close up of the card …

Beautiful Butterflies

A great ‘queasy’ card using Vintage Vogue, Petite Pairs and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

I must have done something right as I sold three Big Shot machines!  They were even more impressed at all the freebies they got with their orders from Sale-a-bration!

It was an wonderful day with lots of fun and lots of catching up and hope we can do it all again and soon 🙂

Festive Friday Challenge

Good Morning!!

Well today is the first day I’m up with the Festive Friday Challenge which has been started by the lovely Nicole Derendorf.

Each Friday the design team will share a Festive card for the challenge to inspire you into creating card for Christmas and all those Festive occasions that happen during the year and this week it is Valentine’s Day!

Now remember the other day I said I’d have more from Easy Events??  Here is my card for today’s Festive Friday Challenge …

It’s amazing what you can do with just one of those little stamps!!

As soon as Nicole asked for Valentine’s well I knew what stamp I wanted to use – I love that little tree!

Now you know how all crafters say there is no such thing as a mistake and its just a creative licence?  well see my little banner? thats one of those ‘creative licences’!  I had stamped the image crooked and after all that spongeing I just about cried! So I just redid the greeting on a scrap of paper (this way it doesnt matter if it’s crooked cos I can cut it out and make it straight!) and turned it into a banner and used glue dots to position it to not only cover my mistake but to also give it the wavy/wind blown look 🙂

Now I wanted to make this card a little special so I can use it for Valentine’s Day for hubby and came across an idea online and once I saw it I thought yes this lady will have a template … but no – her sight was in some foreign language I’d never seen before so I just made my own using Microsoft Word and here’s the inside ….

Cute hey??  Took a bit of fiddling but finally worked it all out and I must say I do like this card!

Want to know more about the Festive Friday Challenge? here’s how it works.

  1. Choose a card or project that inspires you
  2. Create your own Project
  3. Load your project online somewhere and mention who on my design team inspired you
  4. Link your project to the Festive Friday Challenge on Nicole’s blog.
  5. Links close Thursday January 26th at 10am.  Winners will be posted with Next Week’s challenge.

I hope you like my little card and it inspires you to create and enter the challenge.  This is a fun new challenge so make sure you pop back each week to see what we’ve been creating to inspire you and who knows you might have all your Christmas cards done before December this year!

Divas Sketch #155

Hey … well what a change in the weather .. we had a hot 32°C yesterday and today its just 20°C forecast – talk about crazy weather!!

We are at Saturday again so that means another Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge and here is today’s sketch – which is brought to us by the lovely Tammy …

Easy enough right???

Well I really struggled with this one and even rotating it didnt help! Then I remembered a card I’d seen online last week and do you think I could remember where?? nup!!

So here’s my take on this week’s sketch ….

I really needed something simple today as I woke with a horrid headache – which I might add is still hanging on even after going back to bed this morning … I thought I’d been going so well as I hadnt had one for a couple of weeks.

I do like the simplicity of this card and it has just one stamp and highlights the new In Colour ruffled ribbon – isnt it gorgeous?? Oh and the new In Colour Printed Designer Brads – these are delish and you will need a pack once you see them up close 🙂

I also designed this card so it would fit in our gorgeous square envelopes (14cmx14cm) and make for a larger card for someone special!

I do hope you like my card and dont forget to stop by the Utah Divas International Blog to check what the other designing Divas have created!
