Truckload of Cards

Sorry for not posting the last couple of days … I got my birthday present early and have been playing with it and configuring it and trying to work out how to get it to do what I want it to do – what is ‘it’??  It’s an iPad!  I’m not as impressed as I thought I’d be but I’m slowly working it out.

If you remember I had my lovely friend Tanya come stay for a few days at the beginning of the month and one of the projects she brought kits for us (us being my lovely friend Lisa and myself) to make is this awesome 3d Truck complete with cards!

truck

How cool is this truck? and doesnt every girl need a pink truck? I think so!!  Looking at the above image I’m thinking we could even pop on some swirls or flourishes around the fender. Now that would be cool would it not?

Here are the lovely cards we made to pop inside ….

truckcards

They are like a gate fold. Now when I was making my cards I got a bit of a serve from the girls asking why I put the presents and pets in the back. Well when you move you have to take the pets right?? and there will also be all those housewarming presents you’ll need to pick up too!! Or maybe they are all the new stamps and accessories in the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue!!

Now if you didnt want to put cards in the back of the truck you’d be able to fit in some coffee/hot chocolate sachets, chocolates, gift card, small stamp set, ribbons, brads, glimmer paints, gorgeous new sizzlits dies or some of the lovely new textured impressions embossing folders! So much to choose from!!

Now you wont fit the new Idea Book & Catalogue in the back of that truck but you can arrange your own copy from me as I have received my order of 4 boxes!

You can get yours by ….

  • paying $10 plus postage. Now if you live close by and can pick it up or I can drop it off you wont have to pay the postage. Also, you will receive a rebate of $10 on your first order from the new catalogue of $100 or more.
  • book a workshop & get it for free – its that easy!

Now if you do happen to purchase yours from me and after reading the book decide you need a workshop to earn the awesome new products for free then I will give you a voucher valued at $10 to use at your workshop.

Contact me today to arrange your workshop and get your free catalogue!

Scalloped Treat Bags

Sorry for my absence – I’ve had the lovely Tanya Kitto visit me for a few days so we spent alot of time chatting, laughing and creating.  It was wonderful to finally meet in person and to spend some stamping time with her. Thanks to Robby and the kids for letting her come all this way for a few days.

Just before Tanya arrived I came across these gorgeous little bags using the Scalloped Envelope Die and the booful Big Shot.

chocbags

I found a video tutorial on Chic n Scratch and just followed that … they are so super easy to make.  They are going to make an awesome make n take for my Open House on 17th September – so mark that date in your diary!

With Tanya visiting we had a couple of friends come along for a ‘play date’ as they knew Tanya as well and wanted to meet her in person. So I showed them how to make these delightful bags and this is the one we made.

chocbags2 Here is a close up of a couple of the bags showing the greeting – oh look its a set from a previous Mini thats going to be in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue (which my copy arrived today and its just delishamon!)

Arent these bags just the cutest little things??  They are even better when they come with a Mint Pattie or Golden Rough inside and they happen to fit perfectly!  You can also fit in two Freddo Frogs or several little Chocolate Eclairs – yummo!

Happy New Financial Year diary

With my business I like to have a Financial year diary each year so its easier to file with my Taxation records. Now being a crafter I like my ‘tools’  to be nice and bright and cheery.

If you have ever looked for a Financial Year diary have you ever noticed just how drab and boring they are? Well I suppose there is such a big choice – you can have black, black or umm black!

I always go to Big W and look there first as they are just so affordable and looking at the ones they had last week we worked out (yes I was shopping with hubby) that we could remove the insert and I could then undo the binding, make a new cover and then re-do the binding.

Once I pulled the diary out it I wondered if our spiral punch would fit the binding.

Lo and behold it did!!

So now instead of having to undo the binding, make a new cover and then redoing the binding all I have done is cut a piece of Designer Series Paper the size of the pages in the diary and use the spiral punch down one side.

To give it a little more protection I added a sheet of Acetate over the piece of Designer Series Paper again by cutting it to the size of the pages of the diary and using the Spiral punch and slotting it into the binding.

Now since uploading this post I’ve found out about the latest Challenge over at Just Add Ink. Just Add Ink is a blog run by a couple of fellow Aussie demonstrators with a new challenge each week and this week’s challenge is to ‘Just Add Patterned Paper’ and think my diary fits the challenge.

Now when I need a change or the Designer Series paper becomes a little tatty or retired I can just slot in a new piece of DSP and its just like having a new diary!

Stamp Club

How would you like to earn a free Hostess Stamp Set and $30 to spend on any item in the Stampin’ Up Idea Book & Catalogue or Mini Catalogue?  How about learning new techniques to use in your stamping?

You can do this and more just by being a member of my Latte Stamp Club you can do this and more!

What is a Stamp Club?

  • The Latte Stamp Club meets monthly and for 6 months, the workshop is free of charge and you will get to make 3 items created just for my stamp club members.
  • Each Latte Stamp Club member must place a minimum order of $50 each month
  • Each month each Latte Stamp Club member will take a turn of being the ‘hostess’ and as a hostess will earn hostess benefits being a free Hostess Stamp set as well as a minimum of $30 of  free products from the Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalogue or the current Mini Catalogue. Now when it is your turn to be hostess then you are welcome to get outside orders to boost your hostess benefits.

Not located near me?  Not a problem!

You are then able to join my Latte Long Distance Stamp Club.  If you like the idea of the stamp club but are unable to make the time to attend or cant attend on the specified date then  contact me to arrange a spot in my Latte Long Distance Stamp Club. You will still be required to place a minimum $50 order each month, and each member will still get to be ‘hostess’ and receive the hostess benefits!

Maybe you’d like to start your own Latte Stamp Club with just you and five of your friends – I just need 6 people to start a club and then you can share all the joys of the monthly Latte Stamp Club and taking turns in playing  hostess with your friends.

Please note that this is a 6 monthly commitment so you wont be able to drop out during those six months and you will need to complete the agreement to participate each month. If you find you can not make the Stamp Club meeting for any reason you will still be required to place a $50 order and you will receive kits to make the projects for that meeting along with any templates and full instructions.

Sale A Bration Spectacular Update

Well what an awesome day Saturday was at our SaleABration Spectacular!

We had 46 people come for the day and we all had lots of fun and all the ladies worked hard making all those projects we’d set up for them – they made 8 projects in all and with quite a few going home with door prizes or raffle prizes!

Here is a slideshow of how things looked before everyone arrived ….

Here are the make n takes that I made for the day ….

There were 8 make n takes in all and the other six were created by my lovely fellow demonstrators – Lisa, Jossleen and Clare.  We had some make n take kits leftover so I managed to grab a couple of kits so I can make up the make n takes too.  Now I have some of my kits left over so if you’d like a kit for the above make n takes then please email me with your address and I’ll post them to you.

I do hope those who were there on the day had as good a time as I did!

Coaster Calendar

Well yesterday my big girl didnt last long at her first day of High School – I had to pick her up after 2 hours as she was feeling rather sick – too many nerves I think but today she’s back and so far so good ;)   She’s made new friends and can you believe there are three girls in her class all with the same name! Hopefully today I will have the whole day to myself!

This calendar is one that I started before I went away on holidays – I had hoped to give a few as Christmas presents but that wasnt meant to be as I just had too much to do before we left. I can still send them on as ‘just because’ gifts.

So here’s the cover

Here are all the pages that make up the calendar

As you can see I’ve tried to make the months in colours that suite the season they are in – not always easy when most things Christmas have snow on them and well Christmas in Australia is rather hot!

I hope you like this little calendar and I will be running a class for this on 25th February and as my house is small places are limited to ring and book in today!

Now before I share my project with you I also want you to know that if you do make it around to all 41 Blogs involved in today’s Blog Hop and if you make a comment on each one you are then in the running for some Extra Special Blog Candy.  The demonstrators from all over have donated blog candy for this blog hop and if you are the lucky winner you’ll be getting all sorts of parcels and you will truly think that Christmas has come early this year and that you’ve been a very good girl (or guy)!  Now if you do get to all and comment on all the blogs shoot me an email with your name and email address and then everyone who has also visited and commented on all the blogs will go in the drawer for the ‘extra special’ blog candy. Last time Lynda Shrimpton was the lucky winner and just loved all her little surprises however this time we will have 3 blog candy winners so please enjoy the trip and dont forget to leave comments cos we really do love having people comment on our blogs.

Now onto my project …..

I love all the stamp sets that are available in the Sale A Bration Catalogue and chose to pre-order the Vintage Labels to use and make samples to share with you.  Last November we had Regional Training with Stampin Up! in Sydney and it was there that one of the demonstrators recommended making classes using our Notecards so thats exactly what I’ve done.

Here is the set I created.

I created a box which holds 5 Notecards and envelopes.

The box is a new creation of mine which was inspired by an item in my bathroom – its amazing what we get our inspiration from sometimes hey?

The base is done using Old Olive cardstock and I’ve used Bella Rose Designer Series Papers to complete this whole set. I’ve also used a build a brad to embellish the closure and the closure is secured by a velcro dot.

All the cards are completed using the Notecards available in the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue, Rose is a Rose stamp set, Vintage Labels Sale A Bration Stamp Set and the Bella Rose Designer Series Papers with coordinating cardstock.

Here are the cards

I do hope you like this little set as much as I loved making them. Now remember to leave me a comment and your next stop on the blog hop is the blog of the lovely & talented Linda Craven.

Dont forget to send me an email at leonie@stamp-a-latte.com to advise when you have completed the blog hop … winners will be announced 31st January.

Kaleidoscope Treasure Box

Hello all … hope youre managing to stay cool if youre in Australia and staying warm for my friends on the other side of the globe.

I’ve seen these Treasure boxes around for a while now and have always wanted to make one! It was seeing all the lovely ones that they lovely Lynda made that prompted me to sit down and create one. Actually its been finished for a little over a week but was just waiting on the butterflies which I never seem to get to so while hubby was playing with routers and interupting my internet service I decided to get those butterflies done!

Here is my finished box …

Isnt it sweet and how much do you love those new Kaleidoscope Designer Series papers in the Summer Mini Catalogue? They are sure getting a workout here at my house!

Now I got the idea for the butterflies from the lovely Kerri Hunter.

They are done using the five petal flower punch and just snipping the top petal off. I’ve then used some (retired) Gold Cord to wrap around the body and use as the feelers. They have then just been attached using the wonderful mini glue dots.

Here is another shot of the box showing the flower on the top of the lid.I’ve just used the large flower from the Pretties Kit then layered Pumpkin and Rose Red flowers from the Flower Fusion kit and a pink rhinestone brad to secure them all together. Its affixed on the lid again using the mini glue dots.

Now here is the box opened up …

Now how cute is that??

Can you imagine all the little goodies you could pop into the boxes? You could pop just about anything in there and I even thought of making one for my daughter and put in little encouraging sayings or notes of love and then roll them up and tie a piece of cord or string around them to secure them.

This would make a great gift for teens with earrings, necklace, bracelet and maybe some chocolate or a lip balm. Or for your favourite crafter and pop in some brads, buttons, flowers, ribbons, chipboard pieces and maybe some dazzling diamonds or embossing powder.

Would you like to make one of these? then contact me today and put your name down for my Treasure Box class.

So thank you for the nudge Lynda and to Kerri for those very neat butterflies.

Tea Party Gift Set

Well here I am again – posting two days in a row!!

I wanted to share a set I made for a Secret Santa gift I sent as part of the ESAD-SU Yahoogroup Secret Santa Swap last December (seems so long ago!)

It comprised of a large gift bag so I could fit in the Eyelet Border punch, an acetate box full of yummy caramels and a memory tin.

All the items were completed using the Tea Party DSP – I just love this paper and the colours in it!

The gift bag was made from just one sheet of 12×12 DSP and based on a bag that Alisa Tilsner created. I will remake the bag and prepare a tutorial over the next day or so.

The acetate box is the same as the one that I created for the Teacher’s gifts I made in December. I will do a tutorial for these as well as I edited the measurements for the tutorial at SplitCoast Stampers.

The tin is just altered using the Tea Party papers and I made a ‘belly band’ to go around the tin which I stamped the ‘Remember’ sentiment from Life Definitions stamp set.

Now, if you want to get the Life Definitions stamp set then NOW is the time as its on sale as party of the Inventory Sale and is just $68.21 which is a saving of $22.74! It comes with 28 great sayings and so good for any occassion or scrapbook layout. To see what else is on sale in the Inventory Clearance Sale click here

Inside the tin …

I’ve covered the inside with matching Tea Party Designer Series paper and then popped in an acetate pocket which contains a 2010 calendar with each month on a separate sheet so you can mark dates for special occasions.

In the base of the tin I’ve attached a long post it note pad so you can jot down reminders, thoughts or ideas which you can then leave in the tin or stick it to the fridge or your mirror or anywhere you wish really! I’ve also included a matching pen to jot those notes down with!

I do hope you like this little set and I’ll be running this gift set as a class in February so stay tuned for more details on that class.

Flutter Drawers

Hello Everyone!

I do hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and Boxing Day.  I am loving this cooler Victorian weather – I cant remember the last time I had to put a jumper on on Christmas Day! Actually I dont think I ever have before this year.

I thought I’d pop in today and share a little gift I made as one of my Secret Santa presents. I loved making this little project and love how it turned out.

This is the top of the box.

I’ve used the Tea Party Designer Series Papers on the top and then layered a scalloped circle in Regal Rose and a circle in Whisper White. I’ve cut the scalloped circle and circle using the Big Shot. The stamps here are all from Flight of the Butterfly and the awesome new Butterfly Punch from the new Summer Mini Catalogue.

I have found that when stamping with the Flight of the Butterfly Stamp set you ‘need’ a Stamp-a-ma-jig. The Stamp-a-ma-jig is one of those ‘must need’ tools and everyone really should have one.

Here is the box looking from the side showing a drawer and the ‘handle’ being one of the metal flower brads from the Spring Mini Catalogue.

Here you can see some of the drawers open and can get a better idea how it all goes together.

Once the box is completed you can then fill the little drawers with anything you like – for example I’ve put in some brads, buttons, flower fusion and flowers from the pretties kits.

You could also put in some little messages or notes of encouragement, some jewellry like a bracelet, earrings or a necklace.

I will be running this project as a class in February so please make sure you contact me and register for the class … more details will follow when I return from holidays.
