Leafy Green

Oh my … I just checked and my last post was on 21st June!!  My apologies for being so tardy :/

We’ve had a rough week here with my Father in Law passing away early Sunday 3rd August and we had the funeral on Friday 8th July.  He was 96 years old and being the fanatical cricketer he was he would agree that he had ‘a good innings’!  Its always the good cricketers that are always out just before their 100 is it not? Being a veteran soldier he was given a lovely tribute by the local RSL and they also held the wake for him at no cost to the family which was very nice. It was a long emotional day but I do think Pop would have been proud. I must say though that “The Last Post” has not affected me they way it did Friday before and I dare say each Remembrance Day will be the same.

Onto a brighter note …

Here’s a card I made using the gorgeous Growing Green Stamp Set.  Sometimes it is hard to see uses for a stamp set full of flowers other than cards with flowers so wanted to share this idea with you ….

I originally  created this for a dude card however I’ve been informed that its not a dude card but a dudette card!

I’m thinking I might recreate this into a dude card using some Crumb Cake and replacing the twine bow with maybe some twine wrapped around the River Rock panel.

I just love this set as its images are just so lovely to water colour and as you can see it could be used for either male or female cards – regardless of what your kids say ;)

This is another of those queasy cards which are suitable for any occasion at all.

I do hope you like this card and would love to hear what Stampin Up! sets you like to use for both male & female cards.

Dont forget that when you spend $100 or more during July you will receive a gorgeous Ice Cream Parlour gift pack of ribbon and buttons absolutely free – thats over $30 worth for free!  So email or ring me with your orders today and grab your free ribbon & buttons.

Framed Butterflies

I just love this card and so has everyone who has made it over the last few weeks. Its such a queasy card!

Here is the card side-on so you can see the dimension in the butterflies and I just love Elegant Eggplant and Cherry Cobbler together – and I mean love it!

Now one of the reasons for my absence can be summed up in one photo ….

Yup I finally got a new car and it smells sooo good and I love love love it!!

Doesnt the neighbour’s wattle look awesome!?!

My poor old Magna Wagon was really getting very old and starting to show signs of being an 18 year old car … and you could hear her moan so not a good sign.

So if you’d like to see my new Stampin Mobile then book me in for a workshop or party … there’s a great special coming for July so be sure to book your dates in as soon as possible!!

Subtle Flowers

Its currently school holidays here at the moment so things are not going according to my routine as they usually do. I had a lazy day today so thought I’d give my blog a little makeover – what do you think?

You might remember in my last post the card I cased from the lovely Lynda Shrimpton – well Lynda is such a lovely friend she let me case a couple more cards – aint she sweet.  Most of my cards are my own creations and as I do many Stamp A Stacks I like to give my customers a few different choices when choosing what cards they wish to make so sometimes its nice to not have to think too hard – especially during school holidays!

Here are a couple of very easy cards using the Vintage Vogue stamp set.

How pretty and delicate is this card?

The flowers just trail down the card a bit like Jasmine on a fence or anything that stood still too long and too close!

This has to be one of the easiest cards I’ve made and the ladies on Sunday enjoyed making it too.  It is one of those cards that could be used for any occasion.

Recipe

Stamps: On Your birthday, Vintage Vogue
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, Whisper White
    Inks: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Mellow Moss Stampin Write Marker, Pretty in Pink Stampin Write Marker, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Stampin Dimensionals.

Now for the second card – another lovely soft card but in blue ….

This card is the same layout and design as the other just in the landscape orientation. I’ve also added a row of the lovely leafy edge image at the top and bottom of the panel in versamark.  The top and bottom of the white piece is daubered in Bashful Blue and a simple little sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.

Dont you just love the Soft Subtle range?  well if you answered yes and your a regular Stampin’ Up! customer you will know that many of the the Soft Subtle colours are retiring at the end of August.  However we have had a few colours start to run out already so if you’d like to grab some soft subtles before they are all gone I’d suggest you get your order in sooner rather than later.

If the single colours sell out dont forget you can still buy them in the mixed family packs!

Would you like to make these cards?

I still have a couple of places available for my Stamp A Stack here on Saturday 10th July so if you’d like to come contact me today to reserve your spot. Its just $20 for 9 cards – oh and some very yummy coffee … and I’ll even make you a cup in my new coffee cups!

A Rose for mum … and a special bonus offer

Hi everyone … I hope you are enjoying this last week of school – well those in NSW anyways.  Dont forget its Easter this weekend so make sure all your Easter Bunny preparations are all done! I’m sure there will be a huge rush on carrots over the next few days!

Here’s a card that I created for my mum as its her birthday on Thursday.

Mum loves roses and I love this rose!

My last two Stamp A Stack groups made this card and they just loved it!  Its quite easy to put together and the hardest part is just the embossing!

The Pink Pirouette layer is stamped in versamark then clear embossed.  The rose is stamped in Whisper White onto Whisper White cardstock and then clear embossed. Its then coloured using the Aqua Painter and Pretty in Pink Classic Ink Reinker and highlighted with the Regal Rose Classic Ink Reinker.  You will need your Aqua Painter to be very wet for this technique to spread the ink over the whole flower.

I would just love to show you how to make this card and you and your friends could make it for free just by holding a demonstration! So all you need to do is to email or ring me to book your demonstration in.

Seeing Spots …. or is that Circles?

Good morning everyone – I do hope you are well and not getting washed away with all this rain we are having in Sydney. We do need it and it is falling in the catchment areas so that’s a good thing as it means its going into our dams where we need it.

Thursday I shared with you two scrapbook layouts I made using the Circle Scissor Plus and at our SaleABration Spectacular I demonstrated using the Circle Scissor Plus and the different ways you can use it.

SweetCircles Today I want to share with you two cards I used as samples on the day.

This first card was done using the Sweet Always Designer Series Papers, coordinating cardstock and the A Kind Word and Always Stamp sets.

I showed the ladies just how easy it is to do frames with the Circle Scissor Plus without moving it. I’ve also thrown in a couple of our circle punches to show how well Stampin’ Up! products go together.

WindsorBoyBirthdayNot to let the boys out I even made a card for them!

This card uses the Windsor Knot Designer Series Papers, coordinating cardstock, and the All in the Family, On Your Birthday and the Calendar Alphabet & Numbers stamp sets.

I have layered the circles again for the main image and with the All in the Family stamp set its imperative you use the Stamp-a-ma-jig so all your images line up well.

I did try to not use it and my little girl (which is not shown here) ended up with fangs from the top of her dress! Not a good look for a little girls card – unless of course you’re doing a Twilight theme!!!

I am running classes this first term called “Tool Time” where I will highlight a tool and show you different ways of using your Stampin’ Up! tools. So many times we see them demonstrated and just ‘have’ to have it and then it get put on the shelf or in the cupboard to gather dust.

The first class will be on the Circle Scissor Plus and you will get to know this tool and make three projects using the Circle Scissor Plus.

Tool Time – Circle Scissor Plus

    Date ~ 26th February, 2010
    Time ~ 10.30am
    Cost ~ $20.00
    bookings essential

    Birthday Roses

Good Morning all … its another chilly morning here in Sydney and the last day of school term so the girls finish up today for 2 weeks – that means sleeping in and lazy days – love school holidays!

Today is the birthday of my good friend and downline Jossleen so Happy Birthday Joss!

JossBdayThis is the card I made for Jossleen and will be going out to all my July Birthday Club members as well.

I got the inspiration for this card from the 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue – from the framed sample on page 8 for the Sweet Bella Style Swatch. I was looking at it and realised that i dont have the little sprig of flowers in the frame so had to consult the recipe for the project.

You might remember last year (and previous years) the recipes for all the samples in the Idea Book & Catalogue were in the back of the Idea Book & Catalogue. This year they decided not to include them in the Catalogue but they are available for download from the Stampin’ Up! website.

Here are the links to download the supplies/recipes list

So I then realised that the flowers in that frame were from one of the sheets of Designer Series Paper in the Bella Rose pack. So then I went to cutting! I do love to cut images out and find it rather therapeutic so after making this card for Joss I decided I’d make it for all the July birthdays of my Birthday Club Members. So last night I sat down and cut away to my hearts content while watching TV.

JossBdaycloseupAs you can see the the second image I ‘paper toled’ the rose in the middle to give it a little extra dimension.

I really do like how this card turned out and Joss loved it too. Using the paper meant the flowers on the card were smaller than the stamps and it also shows you just how very versatile and all the Stampin’ Up!® products coordinate with each other.

You also dont need a heap of stamp sets to make a pretty card – although it does help! Helps you and me!

Have you joined my Birthday Club?

I run a Birthday Club for my customers where once they have signed up I send them a Birthday Card which includes a special offer for them to use with their next purchase. It is free to join and you can sign up here

Have a great day and dont forget to take time to put your feet up and enjoy a Latte!

    Tri shutter Rose

I’ve seen these lovely TriShutter cards around for a little while now and really wanted to make some for myself.

I thought they’d be a little harder than what they are but the hardest part was the scoring and cutting of the base card. You can follow the tutorial for this card here

    trishutter4libby

How nice did this one turn out?

This one was made specially for my dear friend Libby for her birthday. She loves the colour blue and I just love the Bella Bleu DSP so what was a girl to do?

    Recipe:

    trishutter4libby2
