What a weekend!!

Good Morning!

How are you enjoying all this gorgeous Spring weather?? I love Spring when everything becomes new and the buds come out and all the flowers start to bloom – just love it!!

With Spring we also have something new to love too – the New Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalogue!!  Its started on 1st September and if you dont already have a copy please contact me to arrange your copy today! Being September it also means lots of birthdays for my family and that of my dear friend Lisa.  Since joining Stampin’ Up! I’ve met the nicest people and Lisa has become one of my closest and dearest friends.

Lisa and I had our 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue launch this past Saturday and the weeks beforehand were spent making a tonne of samples so at least I should have some pretties to share with you over the next few weeks!  We had a great day and I hope all the ladies who attended had a great time too.  We had door prizes, mystery hostess and a ‘vote to win’ prize as well. Its was also a little bit of a birthday bash as we both have our birthdays in September and had the yummiest Caramel Torte to celebrate!

Here are the make n takes for the day ….

Pennant Parade Make n Takes

Pennant Parade make n takes

We thought it would be best to highlight something that shows how well Stampin Up! coordinate their products so we went with the Pennant Parade Stamp Set and Pennant Punch.

Lisa created the box for her make n take.

It uses the Box #2 die  with the Big Shot and she’s also used the Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper, the Pennant Punch and some Linen Thread – how cute is this box? It does look small but you’d be amazed at what you could fit inside. Its a great idea for giving little treasures, gift cards, chocolates or jewellry.

If you have a close look at the Big Shot and dies in the new Catalogue you will be pleasantly surprised to see most of them have been reduced in price!  How sweet is that??

For my make n take I wanted to show just how versatile the Pennant Parade Stamp Set and punch is so wanted to make something other than a ‘pennant’ card.

I love the Pennant Parade stamp set as you can make just about anything with it as it has 6 greetings in the set which cover just about everything – Christmas, Birthday, Baby, Love and Thank You! There’s even a little ‘hello’ stamp which would cover everything else!! I am sure you will see many more creations using this set and punch in the future!

This is a very easy card to make – you simply stamp three pennants, fold them in half and stick them together and then pop them onto the card so you have a 3D tree! The pot & star are also in this stamp set as well as 4 pennants so you really have lots to choose from!

I’ve used the Polka Dot embossing folder on the Pear Pizzaz layer – I find using the embossing folders on a layer like this just lift a card so much. The Real Red frame is a Sizzlits die from the Lots a Tags set and the greeting (from Snow Swirled) is stamped on Whisper White and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch. Its all just too easy!!

I do hope you like our little projects and I do hope the girls liked making them.

Dont forget we have the Limited Time Mini Kit available for just $169 but this offer finishes on 30th September so if you were considering purchasing this kit please contact me as soon as possible and dont forget about my bonus “Super Stamper Offer”  which is good for just 9 more days!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all

Also, I’ll be travelling to Canberra on 29th October for Regional Training and youre more than welcome to come along with me to that – ask me about all the details if youre interested.

Take a Sip

I’ve mentioned before how much I love to make cards from a sketch and when I saw the latest one from the lovely Makeesha on her Inkspirations Blog I had to have a play.

Now I had a design in mind for this sketch and I knew what images I wanted to use but seeing they were on a Stampin’ Round Wheel I had a few problems getting a single cup image on the squares and after trying for an hour I decided to give in and contemplated taking the rubber off the wheel and cutting it up.

So after a little deliberation this is exactly what I did!  So now my Take a Sip Wheel looks like this ….

I think the images will come in quite handy like this and to replace the wheel its only going to cost $11.95. All I did was to pop a bit of snail adhesive on the back of the stamp and popped it on an acrylic block to stamp. I simply just rubbed the snail off the block after use using the Adhesive Remover.

Here is my card ….

Because I Care

Its the first day of School Holidays here in Sydney, NSW and I sooo enjoyed my sleep in today. Although I do find if I sleep in then I feel tired and lethargic for the day … maybe I need to sleep in again tomorrow to be sure??  One has to research these things just so we can educate others ;)

With a new catalogue comes new stamps and I love remaking favourite styles of cards using new stamps and one of my favourite cards is the Easel Card.  They are a “Squeasy” card … now I’ve educated you on the new ‘Onie’ style of cards being the “Queasy” cards but now here is a new term for you – “Squeasy” which of course means Super Quick and Easy!

I love the Hydrangea in the Because I Care Hostess Stamp Set and couldn’t wait to use it. I had to team it up with En Francais for this elegant card …

Stamps: Because I Care, En Francais
Paper:   Concord Crush, Very Vanilla
Inks:     Crumb Cake, Concord Crush, Jet Black Stazon, Old Olive
Accessories:  Stampin Dimensionals, Stampin Sponges, Big Shot, Lots of Tags Sizzlits Pack

I love Hydrangeas and they always remind me of my mum and the numerous plants we had around the house when growing up.

Here are a couple of views of the card ….

These cards are great for any occasion and as you can see you can post them flat and the stopper is there so they can be stood up to display. I’ve just popped a heap of dimensionals under the Concord Crush frame to make it higher and therefore be used as the stopper.

Feel free to contact me for more information on how to make this card or one similar.

Birthday Tess

I’ve had a few birthdays the last few weeks and wanted to use my Tote-ally Tess stamp set.

After deliberating for what seemed like hours (which was really about 20 minutes or so) on what papers to use I finally gave in and went with the gorgeous Cottage Wall Designer Series Papers.

As much as I love the Tote-ally Tess set and ‘had’ to have her I’ve struggled to use her in cards.  So I’m challenging myself  to use Tess more so I hope you will see a few different “Tess” cards over the next few weeks.

Why dont you make a card with Tess too and pop a comment with the link to your blog post or online gallery?

This one is simply a “Birthday Tess” carrying a little cupcake. Looking at the card now I could have added a little gift bag as well – I might even still do that and send through a photo once its done.

Recipe:

Stamps: Tote-ally Tess, Short and Sweet
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White, Cottage Wall DSP
Inks: Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Ridinghood Red, Going Gray.
Accessories: Big Shot, Lots of Tags sizzlits, White Taffeta Ribbon, Aqua Painter, Stampin Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, Mini Glue dots.

One of my favourite ways to colour is to use my Aqua Painter and the ink pads to water colour and I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Certainly Celery top went with the Rich Razzleberry pants.

So who’s for a cupcake?

I could go one right about now!  Why not treat yourself to one today and why not grab a Latte at the same time to wash it all down! In honour of all the birthdays we’ve had lately of course ;)
