Christmas Wishes

You may remember the little Baby Stocking card I shared the other day and while sitting at my desk the other day I had a new idea for that very card!!

So here is a card you can make for all the stampers in your life and they will love it!

You just love it dont you??

Now what stamper wouldnt want to wake up to a stocking like this on Christmas Morning … wonder if they make stockings big enough for all the stuff I want??

Maybe you are the same as me and never know what you want for Christmas when asked – well with the start of the new Catalogue my wish list is huge! How cool would it be to get some of the new stamps and products for Christmas?

Well you can!!

I am offering the same service as I do each year where you can download the Christmas Wish List, fill it out and give it to hubby/family/friends and it has all my details on it for them to call me and place the order. Alternatively you can send your wishlist to me and tell them to contact me and tell me how much they wish to spend and arrange payment and I will order, wrap and deliver or send your presents ready to go straight under the tree!  Also, if you order by 30th November and your order is at least $120 then you will receive a bonus free gift from me!

Leonie\'s Christmas Wish List (91)

Simply Click on the link above and download my Christmas Wish List and have it completed and you’ll need to make sure orders are placed by 10th December to ensure delivery before Christmas!

I do hope you liked this card as much as I did making it!

What a weekend!!

Good Morning!

How are you enjoying all this gorgeous Spring weather?? I love Spring when everything becomes new and the buds come out and all the flowers start to bloom – just love it!!

With Spring we also have something new to love too – the New Stampin’ Up! Idea Book & Catalogue!!  Its started on 1st September and if you dont already have a copy please contact me to arrange your copy today! Being September it also means lots of birthdays for my family and that of my dear friend Lisa.  Since joining Stampin’ Up! I’ve met the nicest people and Lisa has become one of my closest and dearest friends.

Lisa and I had our 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue launch this past Saturday and the weeks beforehand were spent making a tonne of samples so at least I should have some pretties to share with you over the next few weeks!  We had a great day and I hope all the ladies who attended had a great time too.  We had door prizes, mystery hostess and a ‘vote to win’ prize as well. Its was also a little bit of a birthday bash as we both have our birthdays in September and had the yummiest Caramel Torte to celebrate!

Here are the make n takes for the day ….

Pennant Parade Make n Takes

Pennant Parade make n takes

We thought it would be best to highlight something that shows how well Stampin Up! coordinate their products so we went with the Pennant Parade Stamp Set and Pennant Punch.

Lisa created the box for her make n take.

It uses the Box #2 die  with the Big Shot and she’s also used the Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper, the Pennant Punch and some Linen Thread – how cute is this box? It does look small but you’d be amazed at what you could fit inside. Its a great idea for giving little treasures, gift cards, chocolates or jewellry.

If you have a close look at the Big Shot and dies in the new Catalogue you will be pleasantly surprised to see most of them have been reduced in price!  How sweet is that??

For my make n take I wanted to show just how versatile the Pennant Parade Stamp Set and punch is so wanted to make something other than a ‘pennant’ card.

I love the Pennant Parade stamp set as you can make just about anything with it as it has 6 greetings in the set which cover just about everything – Christmas, Birthday, Baby, Love and Thank You! There’s even a little ‘hello’ stamp which would cover everything else!! I am sure you will see many more creations using this set and punch in the future!

This is a very easy card to make – you simply stamp three pennants, fold them in half and stick them together and then pop them onto the card so you have a 3D tree! The pot & star are also in this stamp set as well as 4 pennants so you really have lots to choose from!

I’ve used the Polka Dot embossing folder on the Pear Pizzaz layer – I find using the embossing folders on a layer like this just lift a card so much. The Real Red frame is a Sizzlits die from the Lots a Tags set and the greeting (from Snow Swirled) is stamped on Whisper White and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch. Its all just too easy!!

I do hope you like our little projects and I do hope the girls liked making them.

Dont forget we have the Limited Time Mini Kit available for just $169 but this offer finishes on 30th September so if you were considering purchasing this kit please contact me as soon as possible and dont forget about my bonus “Super Stamper Offer”  which is good for just 9 more days!  Feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all

Also, I’ll be travelling to Canberra on 29th October for Regional Training and youre more than welcome to come along with me to that – ask me about all the details if youre interested.

Top Note Medallions

Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator has brought many wonderful people into my life and some of these just happen to be other demonstrators.  I run an online forum for demonstrators from Australia and New Zealand called ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators)  and through this group I’ve met lots of wonderful ladies and also as we share our creations online with those demonstrators we find ourselves inpired and motivated by others.

One such card that inspired these cards today was created by Julia Leece – a demonstrator from New Zealand.

Here is my card in the lovely purple tones of Elegant Eggplant and Pale Plum

medalliontopnotet

I love these colours together and will be so sad to see Pale Plum retire next week – its been one of my favourites over the four years I’ve been a Demonstrator.

I loved this card so much that I decided to make a few in different colours ….

medalliontopnoteset

The other colour combinations I’ve used here are Baja Breeze/Basic Black and Pretty in Pink/Chocolate Chip – these make a lovely Stamp A Stack card and the girls enjoyed making them here the other week. This is another versatile card that would suite any occasion just by changing the sentiment.

Now dont forget there is just one week left to order anything from the current 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue and the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue as these books both finish on 31st August.

Now as a special offer to my lovely and loyal customers from now until 31st August anyone placing an order of $100 or more I will pay the shipping and handling!  So this gives you a little more spending money right? Dont forget to check out the Last Chance List and the Availability List here.

So go grab a cuppa and have a good look through both catalogues and get your orders to me – you can email me or ring me.

Truckload of Cards

Sorry for not posting the last couple of days … I got my birthday present early and have been playing with it and configuring it and trying to work out how to get it to do what I want it to do – what is ‘it’??  It’s an iPad!  I’m not as impressed as I thought I’d be but I’m slowly working it out.

If you remember I had my lovely friend Tanya come stay for a few days at the beginning of the month and one of the projects she brought kits for us (us being my lovely friend Lisa and myself) to make is this awesome 3d Truck complete with cards!

truck

How cool is this truck? and doesnt every girl need a pink truck? I think so!!  Looking at the above image I’m thinking we could even pop on some swirls or flourishes around the fender. Now that would be cool would it not?

Here are the lovely cards we made to pop inside ….

truckcards

They are like a gate fold. Now when I was making my cards I got a bit of a serve from the girls asking why I put the presents and pets in the back. Well when you move you have to take the pets right?? and there will also be all those housewarming presents you’ll need to pick up too!! Or maybe they are all the new stamps and accessories in the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue!!

Now if you didnt want to put cards in the back of the truck you’d be able to fit in some coffee/hot chocolate sachets, chocolates, gift card, small stamp set, ribbons, brads, glimmer paints, gorgeous new sizzlits dies or some of the lovely new textured impressions embossing folders! So much to choose from!!

Now you wont fit the new Idea Book & Catalogue in the back of that truck but you can arrange your own copy from me as I have received my order of 4 boxes!

You can get yours by ….

  • paying $10 plus postage. Now if you live close by and can pick it up or I can drop it off you wont have to pay the postage. Also, you will receive a rebate of $10 on your first order from the new catalogue of $100 or more.
  • book a workshop & get it for free – its that easy!

Now if you do happen to purchase yours from me and after reading the book decide you need a workshop to earn the awesome new products for free then I will give you a voucher valued at $10 to use at your workshop.

Contact me today to arrange your workshop and get your free catalogue!

Scalloped Treat Bags

Sorry for my absence – I’ve had the lovely Tanya Kitto visit me for a few days so we spent alot of time chatting, laughing and creating.  It was wonderful to finally meet in person and to spend some stamping time with her. Thanks to Robby and the kids for letting her come all this way for a few days.

Just before Tanya arrived I came across these gorgeous little bags using the Scalloped Envelope Die and the booful Big Shot.

chocbags

I found a video tutorial on Chic n Scratch and just followed that … they are so super easy to make.  They are going to make an awesome make n take for my Open House on 17th September – so mark that date in your diary!

With Tanya visiting we had a couple of friends come along for a ‘play date’ as they knew Tanya as well and wanted to meet her in person. So I showed them how to make these delightful bags and this is the one we made.

chocbags2 Here is a close up of a couple of the bags showing the greeting – oh look its a set from a previous Mini thats going to be in the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue (which my copy arrived today and its just delishamon!)

Arent these bags just the cutest little things??  They are even better when they come with a Mint Pattie or Golden Rough inside and they happen to fit perfectly!  You can also fit in two Freddo Frogs or several little Chocolate Eclairs – yummo!

Breezin by …

Tomorrow I’m off down south for a Stamp A Stack with a lovely group of ladies. These ladies like both card making and scrapbooking so I always tailor their Stamp A Stack to suite both. They will make one 12×12 layout and 4 cards – two of two different designs.

They use the Stampin’ Up!® Idea Book and Catalogue as it was designed – as an idea book. They will go through all the samples in the book and decide which they want to do and tonight I’m sharing the cards they’ve chosen. They have chosen the two cards at the top of page 75 -  I have altered them ever so slightly as I dont have the Kindred Spirits stamp set and I’ve change the chipboard to using the cardstock instead.

bajapairIn previous years the recipes for each card have been listed in the back of the catalogue and idea book. This year they have used those pages to give us a few more stamps and accessories and have placed the files for the recipes on the Stampin Up Website with the Catalogue. You can download the recipe file with or without the images.  You can find the files here

bajathankyou

Here are the recipes for the two cards ….

This card is made from a 6×6 base so finished size is 6×3 inches.

Recipe:

Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Frames with a Flourish
Inks: Not Quite Navy
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
DSP: Urban Garden
Accessories: Stampin Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Paper Snips

This is a very quick and easy card to make and really suites any occasion.

friendcattiecaseRecipe:

Stamps: Circle Circus, Eastern Blooms, Pocket Silhouettes
Inks: Not Quite Navy
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White
DSP: Urban Garden
Accessories: Paper Piercer, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals

This also makes a quick and easy card as I think the longest bit was cutting out the circle and ring.

I am looking forward to catching up with the girls again tomorrow as we always have a good time when we catch up and stamp together.

I’ll be back tomorrow to show you the layout they will be making.

To Case or not to Case

If you hang around with stampers or card makers you will hear them talk about a card they may have cased or how someone cased their card. What does this mean?

Case – to Copy And Share Everything

So in reality to CASE a card is to copy a card that someone else has created. Now some people like this and some people dont so its best to ask first. In any case you should definitely give credit where credit is due so be sure you acknowledge the original creator by stating her name and if possible include her email or blog address. I have cased many cards and have always given credit to the original card and some have cased my work as well which is fine as long as they acknowledge that it was cased from one of my cards.

There have been times when I’ve seen a copy of my cards on blogs and such and yes it does hurt when they dont acknowledge the original and I know that friends have also been hurt or upset in this way. It doesnt take long to pop in a person’s name or a link to their blog.

So today I have cased a couple of cards to share with you. I always find there is something you do a little differently so its not always going to be a complete replica.

cattiecasep85This one is a case of a card in the 2008-2009 Idea Book & Catalogue.

The great thing about the Stampin Up catalogue is that it isnt just a catalogue. Its an idea book as well and where else can you purchase a book or magazine that has over 300 samples and ideas for just $12.95?

Even better the Idea Book & Catalogue also gives you the recipe for each project displayed inside!

This card is located on page 85 of the current 2008-2009 Idea Book & Catalogue. Now if you grab your copy and go to page 155 you will see a ‘supplies’ list. This is where you find each recipe for each project in the Idea Book & Catalogue. You will notice at the beginning of each paragraph there is a number and a letter. The number refers to the page number the project is on and the letter refers to where on the page the project is.

So for example this card on page 85 is the second project on that page so the reference you need to look up is 85B. You will find the recipe for 85B on page 157. You will see it tells you the stamps, papers, cardstock, inks, tools & accessories used for that card. Pretty cool huh?

If you read that recipe you will notice that I substituted the groovy guava for more mustard and used a oval shaped clip instead of the hat pin and pearl.

bloomscasehadamsHere is another card that I cased today – its a case of a card I recieved as a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) from Heather Adams. We are on a new Stampin Up RAK group based in Australia where we send out RAKs and of course get a return back. If you’d like to join this great group then go to Stampin Up in OZ and join – its open to all so its not just from demonstrators.

I love the clean simple design and the vibrant colours so I just had to case this one and pop it into my Stamp A Stack folder with the kind permission of Heather.

So remember its fine to case a card but please remember to give credit where credit is due.

I had a lady from USA email me the other week after I shared my Valentine Heart card and she asked if she could case it for a demonstration which I was flattered she asked and it actually resulted in her selling many of the Pretties Kits – now if only had that effect on my customers! Its always a huge boost to one’s self esteem when asked if one of your cards can be cased.

Just going back to the Idea Book & Catalogue – there will be a new one released in April and I will be able to do a pre-order for them so I have them for you on 1st April. If you would like to pre-order a 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue then please email or ring me so I can put your name on my pre-order list. Or you could book a demonstration in for April and get your new Idea Book & Catalogue for free!
