Diva Sketch Challenge

Another SAturday and mine is nearly over so sorry for my lateness for posting this card.  I had intended to make another however time has got away from me once again!

I have had a very busy week with 4 Stamp A Stacks in 7 days! its really no wonder I’m tired!! lol

Here is this weeks sketch from the lovely Carol DSC44

Now I needed to make a thank you card last week for a lovely friend who had that Watercolour Demonstration that I’ve been sharing the cards from.  I also wanted to use the hostess set she’d chosen which was Organic Grace.  I love this set as it has great elements  – flower stem, leaf, dragonfly and daisy and I have used this set for both male and female cards.

I wanted to do Plum and Moss combination as I havent done one in a while and I love that combo but again those circles are there again! So I made one circle the sentiment with ovals (or elongated circles) and the other I turned into a flower … or two!

DSC44-PlumTYIve taken a couple of the flowers from the Pretties Kit and dyed them using the re-inkers. One is done in Perfect Plum and the other is in Pale Plum. I also took some white grosgrain ribbon and popped that into the Pale Plum re-inker as well.  I’ve used a green rhinestone brad from the Circle Ice Rhinestone brads.

This made a very quick and easy card and I am pleased to say my Hostess liked it too!

I hope you like this card and now I’m off to pack kits for tomorrow’s Stamp A Stack at my sister’s house.

Have a great night and see you next time

Christmas Window

Today I’m sharing with you the other Christmas card I made for my sister’s Stamp A Stack.

While making the Wish for Peace christmas cards I shared in the last post it dawned on me to use the Window Dressing Stamp set. This is a great set for a variety of occassions however the only way you can get it is to earn one through holding a demonstration.

A must have tool you will need to have for this stamp set is the Stamp-a-ma-jig. It makes lining up your stamps so much easier and therefore saves alot of cardstock being thrown out!

With this card we also used the masking technique when stamping the tree inside. The ladies were very impressed with how this card came together and how simple it was.

Recipe:

Stamps: Window Dressing, Lovely as a Tree
Paper: Real Red, Whisper White, Holiday Treasure DSP
Inks: Stazon Jet Black, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Ridinghood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stampin Write Markers, Dimensionals

If you would like to see how this card is made ring or email me today to book in for your demonstration or Stamp A Stack.

There are many great advantages of being a Hostess of a Stampin Up! Workshop including the HOstess sets which are only available to Worskhop hostesses – I cant even buy them! and then there are the free products you can earn as well as the free gifts and projects from me!

Coordination

One of the things I truly love about making your own cards and gifts is being able to coordinate your gifts with your card and seeing the delight on the recipients face when they see all their matching goodies.

There is no other company I know of that coordinates their products as well as Stampin’ Up!® does!  All their colour families are the same in the cardstock, inks, pastels, markers, ribbons and Designer Series Papers and Simply Scrappin kits.  You will also love the new catalogue as there are now little colour swatches with the samples of the Designer Series Papers showing what colours thye’ve used for that particular pack so it will take alot of the guess work out for us.

dottygiftbagncardBefore I joined Stampin Up I would spend hours just picking out patterned papers and matching it with cardstock or ribbon in my local Scrap Shop. With the coordinating that Stampin’ Up! does you know that you will always be able to get the right colour to match your printed paper with your inks, pastels, cardstock and the like.

Here is a little set I made on Saturday for a party that Emily was going to.

dottybirthdayI’ve used one of the gift sacks from Stampin Up! and just attached the same paper to the bag that I’d used as the background on the card. I first chose the paper I wanted to use and then matched the colours from there – it was so easy just to know that the colours used in this DSP pack were Lavender Lace, Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery so I knew exactly what cardstock to use and colours to use when colouring the image.

Here is a close up of the card.

I’ve used one of the new Hostess Sets from the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue called Window Dressing.

It was so much fun to use this set as you have the window image and then you add to it with the little girl, bird and cat. There is also some snowmen, pot plants, pumpkins and 2 more sayings that go with this set. I can see many many uses for it and I’m sure you’ll see more of this set over the next 12 months!

The mother of the birthday girl was very impressed with the card and gift bag whereas Emily’s friend just loved the cat!

All in all it was a good day for all and the girls loved the Ten Pin bowling party while I rushed around doing the grocery shopping and a couple of other errands.

I hope you like this card and if you’d like me to show you how well the papers match with the cardstock, inks, markers and accessories then contact me and we’ll arrange a date for me to come and show you all the lovely new products starting April 1st.

Diva Sketch Challenge … with new stamps!

I nearly missed it being Saturday and its actually now Sunday here in Sydney but its still Saturday in some parts of Australia – like Perth and Brisbane!

Here is this week’s Diva Sketch Challenge for the Utah Diva’s International group.

I think this sketch, like last week’s, has lots of possibilities so you might just see more cards done using this sketch during the upcoming week.

One of the benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is you get to do a pre-order for upcoming mini catalogues and the new Idea Book & Catalogue. We havent seen the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue yet but we did receive a selection of new stamps and accessories we could pre-order from.

I was lucky enough to be able to get a couple of the new sets and they arrived this past week and they have been patiently waiting on my cupboard to be inked so I thought I’d use some with this sketch.

So here is my very first card using the Echoes of Kindness Stamp Set which will be a Level 2 Hostess set in the upcoming Idea Book & Catalogue. I’vdsc21-kiwiechoese also used some of the new In Colour cardstock and inks.

I’ve stamped the two flower images onto Stampin’ Up! Water colour paper in Jet Black Stazon and watercoloured the images using the ink pads and the aqua painter.

The blue flowers are done in Baja Breeze then highlighted with Pacific Point. The pink flower is done in Pink Pirouette then highlighted with Riding Hood Red and the leaves are done with Kiwi Kiss. The sentiment is stamped in the gorgeous Pacific Point classic ink.

I just know youre going to fall in love with these new In Colours just as I have! When they were first introduced in USA I only liked the Pink Pirouette – its such a gorgeous soft pink! From seeing the girls in USA use them they grew on me and now I just cant wait to share them with you!

I hope you like my card and are getting excited about the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue – well I know I am and hoping we’ll recieve our copy soon!
