Freshly Brewed Projects – Leaves and Foliage

Welcome to another week of Freshly Brewed Projects from the Latte Girls …

This week we are creating with the theme “Leaves and Foliage”.

We have a gazillion sets with leaves and foliage in them but I always go back to my lovely Vintage Leaves set.

See I had an idea a week or so ago for my sister’s Birthday present (you know the smart one that’s not only a High School Teacher but a poet as well) and since she’s Canada mad – well she loves all things Canadian and just released her Book of Poetry and last week had a couple of book launches in Victoria (you can get yours here)  So after seeing the Book Cover for the umpteenth time a penny (well canadian dollar maybe) dropped and this is the idea I had …

Here’s the book that inspired the creation …

The litte rocks inside the frame were an afterthought as I was putting it all together.  I’ve also sent her the extra Maple leaves for her own ‘in home’ display.

Of course no gift is complete without a card …

It was her birthday after all!

I do hope she likes it and see’s the connection to her book.

Now be sure to pop around to see what Libby and Narelle have created for this week’s challenge.

Weekly Deals

Happy Thursday!

Sorry these deals are coming to you a day late.  Yesterday I was travelling back from my Dad’s in Victoria and was a rather long day – we left Dad’s around 9,20am and I got home a little after 6.30pm!  That’s a long day of travelling considering it was the ‘quickest’ way.

On with the deals ….

Some nice sparkly and gold things there!

I will have to check my supply of Glimmer Paper and will definitely be ordering a couple of rolls of that Gold Ribbon – I love that stuff!  At these prices they’d make awesome stocking stuffers or an inexpensive gift for your favourite crafter!

Be sure to let me know if you’d like some of these goodies too – remember they are only on sale till Tuesday 24th November.

Thanks for stopping by and see you latte ..

All Boxed Up

I do love so love the Kits we have in our Catalogue. I love how Stampin’ Up! makes these available each catalogue and versatile they can be.

I recently assembled the All Boxed Up kit and I must say I love it and it’s great value for money!

Now my picture here shows 8 very cute boxes but there are actually 10 in the kit!

The stamp set is sold separately which is great because if you need more than 10 boxes you can just get another kit or if you feel you will need to make lots of these boxes you can then choose to buy the Baker’s Box Thinlits die which comes with extra pieces for tags, holes and embellishments!

These little boxes will be great for …

  • Birthday Party Thank You’s
  • Place Settings for birthday, Christmas or any occasion
  • Gift Boxes
  • Handing out treats to friends and family
  • Wedding Favour Boxes

Here are the boxes I created …

I do hope you like these little boxes and if you’d like to make one at your workshop be sure to  contact me to arrange a date.  You could earn any of the Stampin Up Kits for free when you hold a party in July with me!  So contact me now by phone or email and you could get ‘Your kit for free’!!

Stampin’ Up! Artisan Embellishment Kit

How much do you love the new Occasions Catalogue?  Are you like me and find something new every time you look through it?

One little kit you may not have noticed is the new Artisan Embellishment kit on page 27 ….

Artisan Embellishment Kit $16.95

This kit is just gorgeous and so very versatile.  One thing I will point out though is that in the catalogue it lists 4 white doillies when in fact there are 2 in each kit so just be wary of that.

The rose cutouts are lovely and you can use either side so you have white or sahara sand. You can also use these as masks to sponge the rose design onto a card before using the actual cut out on another card – cool eh? Then there’s the beautiful buttons, pearls, lace, flower trim and velvet trim – just divine.

Here’s a very simple card you can make …

I simply used the same colour cardstock as used in the lace – Rose Red and added a white panel at the bottom to stamp my greeting from Butterfly Basics.  Used one of the clear buttons and popped a small pearl in the centre.

I then cased the decorated journal from the Catalogue …

Now I’m not sure if you can see the stamping I did on the journal cover – I took the fern stamp from Butterfly Basics and stamped it in versamark just to give it a bit of pattern. Then I adhered one of the doilies, lace, velvet trim and butterfly.  The embellishment on top of the butterfly is simply one of the silver buttons with a large pearl on top – it reminds me of the old pearl buttons you used to see on Grandma’s Blouses and Cardigans! I then cut off two of the ribbon rose trim and popped them either side – all my layers were adhered with the Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive – I find that will stick anything to anything!

I love this little ‘old fashioned’ kit and I know you will too!

Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop … with Blog Candy!

Good Morning and welcome to my very first Stamp A Latte Team Blog Hop and we are featuring products from the Holiday Catalogue !10599134_10152811648097577_7044930502867129878_n

I have a wonderful team of ladies and I’ve done blog hops with other groups and thought it time I introduced you to my awesome team of ladies … there are five of us doing todays Blog Hop …

For my projects today I chose to use the lovely Endless Wishes Stamp Set, All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper and Washi Tape.

At first I struggled although I love this little stamp set many of the cards created tend to look the same. Then I remembered the Christmas Planner I made a few years back and thought I should make a new one ….

This planner was created based on a project I did years ago and just altered the size to fit the lovely Stampin’ Up! Note Cards and Envelopes.

The first opening has the Christmas Card List to keep a record of the cards you’ve sent and when.

The middle pockets house the Note Cards – there’s three in each pocket with envelopes.

In the back pocket we have our ‘Gift to Make’ list.  This is a great list to fill out when you see items here on my blog or on pinterest – it’s a good idea to write the link or name so its easy to find when you go to make it!

Then we have our cards …

The front cover was decorated with letters and adhesive diecuts from the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Accessory Pack.

I will be running a class for this Planner or I can bring the class to you so be sure to register for that.  Not local and want the tutorial?  Contact me and place a $50 order and you’ll get the full tutorial for free – or you can join my Creative Club (starting in October) as it will be our Club Project.

Now how would you like to win a little Blog Candy??

Well you can and all you need to do is visit all 5 blogs in this hop and comment on each one.  I will gather the names and email addresses from the girls and one lucky visitor will receive the Trim the Tree Designer Series Pack and a packet of Rhinestone Jewels! So get hopping and commenting … sorry but we can only give the Blog Candy to Australian Residents and Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators are not eligible – but everyone is welcome to comment!

Fringed Flower Box

Do you struggle to find lovely packaging for your gifts?  I know I do … I’m past just getting the gift bags from the local store as I want to give my friends and family something special … something they wont get from someone else and hopefully something they’ll admire as much as the gift inside!

Stampin’ Up! has wonderful gift giving ideas and there’s so much you can do to make it ‘from you’ – we’ve got bags, boxes, tags and all the pretties to pretty them up and ribbons and twine to tie it all up!

I’ve started a new stamp club with a lovely group of ladies and here’s one of the projects we made recently ….

We simply wrapped a piece of Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper around the Tag a Box and added a Doily and some ribbon. The pom pom flowers were made using the Fringed Scissors from the Occasions Catalogue and some more Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper and were stuck to the top with Tombow Multipurpose Adhesive Glue.

They look pretty cool dont they?

Twisty Monday Treats

Good Afternoon … firstly my apologies in the delay in posting this Monday Makes for you today.

I knew what I was going to make and it wasnt going to take that long … really it wasnt … well it didnt really … well not until I changed my mind soon after starting and thought “Oh I could do a video on this!’ If only ‘doing a video’ was as quick as ‘making the project you want to video’.  It’s not just the shooting of the video but then the editing, captions and saving. Then after all that there’s also the uploading to YouTube!

So while it’s uploading I’ve taken photo’s of the projects, edited said photo’s and now doing up my post and I have a feeling the ‘uploading’ is going to take a wee bit longer than to complete this post!

So this week we are ‘making’ with the Twisty Treats Gift Bags and Petal Parade – both available free during Sale-a-bration with a $90 order and here is the card I have made ….

Now I have to say that I really love how this one turned out and even love the brightness of it!  Do you see the polka dot layer?  are you wondering what paper or stamp I used?  Well it’s neither!  I simply cut up one of the Twisty Treat Bags and wrapped it around my Strawberry Slush cardstock and this is the effect you get – love it!  I saw it on Shelly Godby’s blog this morning and thought yeah thats another use for the bags! So thanks Shelly!

The card is quite quick and easy with elements from the Twisty Treats Gift Bag kit and Petal Parade – too easy – oh and the Hello Friend comes from the Peachy Keen stamp set.

Now with my second project I wanted to make something with the bags … something a little different and something you’d find useful so I hope I’ve achieved that for you … I’ve made some Twisty Treats Boxed Gift Bags ….

I’ve created a little box to sit inside these Gift Bags so that they will stand up by themselves.  I know when I give a gift I like it to stand up proud in its packaging and it really does make it so much easier to photograph!

How cute are these??  I love that they stand up and they are going to be perfect for my Scentsy parties!  I started Scentsy when they came to Australia and just love their Warmers, Waxes, Scents and everything else they have.  This Bag has a Scentsy Shower Gel inside – fits perfectly!

I’ve been a lover of Scented Candles for a long time and didnt think there’d be a difference in the smell from a traditional candle to the Scentsy Warmers but yes there is … the soot a regular candle puts in the air is astounding and I’m not surprised some say candles/scents give them asthma when its actually to soot not the scent that causes the trouble.

The Gift Bags above and below both have a Scentsy Wax Bar inside – Lilacs & Violets above and Blueberry Cheesecake below …

Oh my … I can just about taste that Cheesecake!  It really does smell as it tastes!  If you dont believe me let me send you a sample to try for yourself!

I do hope you like what I’ve created today and please be sure to stop by Libby’s blog for her Monday Makes – I do believe it has something to do with Chocolate … oh dear .. cheesecake and chocolate … I do believe I’ve put on weight just typing this post!

Yes we are still waiting for the video to upload .. I’ll have to learn how to get these video’s shorter and uploaded quicker … or maybe just not leave it till the last minute or 30 to do!

I’ll post now and pop back later to upload the video into the post … thanks for you patience and hopefully it will be worth it.

Eastern Elegance Gift Box

Good Morning … hope you are having a lovely Saturday!

Today I wanted to share with you a little project I made recently.  One of my friends asked me to make up a gift for her friend – actually this is the second one I’ve made for her.  She tells me what her friends like and what she’d like included and of course how much she’d like to spend and then I get to work.

This gift was made for  a friend who likes to make cards and she wanted a gift pack of ‘things to go on the front of cards’ so I went to work.   I grabbed one of our Wood Mount Storage cases and inserted a piece of the gorgeous paper from Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper Pack.

The tag from Chalk Talk is absolutely perfect for gifts and I just coordinated it with the colours of the Designer Series Paper I used.

Then I went to select some of our gorgeous embellishments. I selected clips, buttons, various ribbons tied with slivers of crumb cake cardstock, frosted embellishments, candy dot bases, lace tape, bakers twine, candy dots and doillies.

I grabbed some empty button/brad containers and popped a scalloped circle on top with a label for its contents.  I’ve also made a little pocket and stuck it inside the box to house the Candy Dots and Doillies.

I tied the Seam binding around the box and finished with a pretty bow then hooked the tag on – perfect.

The recipient was over the moon … and its a customised gift so its not like others would have given her the same.

Maybe you have a crafter that you are looking for the perfect gift?  Just contact me with their likes and how much you want to spend and I’ll do the rest!

Or maybe you are a crafter and would love a gift just like this?  Well give my details to your hubby, boyfriend, friends or relatives and get them to contact me so I can customise your gift for you!

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely weekend!
