Sketchy Saturday is back!

After a long couple of months I’m back doing the Utah Divas Sketch Challenge!

Firstly, I’d like to thank the lovely Carol for putting up with me for so long and welcome the new girls doing the sketches and we have the lovely Ruthie Burkey coordinating us all and keeping us all in line – no easy task I must say!!

Here is this week’s sketch ….

Diva Sketch Challenge #152

Now I wouldnt be me if I didnt change it in some way now would it??  I’ve given the sketch a flip and come up with this ….

See Ruthie … I made two cards!!

I couldnt decide which colour combination I liked the best so whats a girl to do??  She makes one of each of course!! I also wanted to make them as Father’s Day Cards being its Father’s Day here tomorrow so now I have two cards – one for Dad and one for Hubby :)

I do have another design in my but that might have to wait for another day ;)

Here’s a close up of the Autumn card …

Not sure if you can see it but the Cajun Craze layer has been run through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and it gives it texture and a bit more depth.

I’m sure you’ve heard that we’ve just had our new Idea Book & Catalogue released here in Australia and I’m very happy to report that not only is it full of all sorts of gorgeous new stamps, papers and accessories but the price of the Big Shot and some of the dies and folders have actually come down in price!  You can even earn a Big Shot for half price by hosting a Workshop so if you’d like a Big Shot at half price why not contact me today to book your Workshop in.

Now dont forget to pop over to the Utah Divas International Blog for links to what the other Designing Diva’s have created for this sketch.

Secret Stampin Sister Round 4

Its that time again – a new round of the Secret Stampin’ Sister program! I cant believe we are up to round 4 already!

I’ve received  a couple of gorgeous cards this month and I wanted to share them with you today.

How nice is this card?

These arent colours I would have put together but dont they look so very nice?? Colours used are Kraft (Crumb Cake), Baja Breeze and Elegant Eggplant.  I’m going to add this one to my Stamp A Stack Selection – I love it.

I love the touch of the Elegant Eggplant ribbon and the scrunched flower.

They have used the lovely Medallion stamp too – I thought it odd when I’d made those Medallion cards the other week and here comes one in the mail for me!

Now I received this card a couple of weeks ago and then yesterday I received the second card for the month of August.

How cool is this one?? and just in time for Father’s Day too!

This card is so neat … and I love how the tie and shirt have matching hankies in the pocket! Too cool – the Designer Series Paper used here is the Windsor Knot papers which will retire on 31st August but suit this card so well.

Now with every good suite the jacket opens up as shown below and the shirt layer opens to reveal a white background for you to pop your message onto …..

Now dont forget the Last Chance List and those items that are discounted even more than before – also I’m still offering free post on all orders up till 31st August so get on the phone or shoot me an email with your order and how you wish to pay.

Man Cards

Monday I told you about a couple of my Stamp A Stack groups wanting “Man Cards” – I am still amazed at these cards and how they turned out.

This is the first one I made and had contemplated exchanging the set as I just didnt think I could do it justice until my good friend Nicki shared some of her creations with it.

I am pretty pleased with this and how it turned out to say the least. Its a very simple card and I even researched the knot on Wikipedia so I hope you’re all proud of me! It also makes a great card for a Stamp A Stack or swap.

Recipe:

Stamps: Sanded background, Seaworthy
Paper: Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue, Very Vanilla
Inks: Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, Basic Black
Accessories: Twine, Sponge Daubers

Here are a couple more ‘man cards’ I made on the weekend.

I really did enjoy creating with the Outlaw papers and the Wanted stamp set – one that I thought I’d never buy! The Priceless card on the right is a case of this card by Margaret Raburn.

I am pretty pleased with how these turned out too and just love how Stampin’ Up! make stamps to suit their punches … or is it that they have punches to suit the stamps?? Just another way the products all coordinate so well!

If you’d like to make these cards then contact me to book your “Manly” Stamp A Stack in today!

Father’s Day Concertina

Well here I was thinking I was going to be bored and all lonely while certain friends attended the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip the other week. To say the least ‘bored’ did not enter my vocabulary – for the past two weeks I’ve had the busiest time as a demonstrator and my best sales month ever!

Who knows I might even be on the Incentive Trip next year!!

I have a couple of regular Stamp A Stack groups and a couple of them have asked for ‘male cards’ – I nearly fell off my chair – being that I’m a mother of two girls I don’t do many cards for the male species! I thought with Father’s Day this Sunday I might offer a nice card for the dads, grampa’s, pops, opa’s and hubbies.

I came up with this little Concertina Tag card and I must say I’ve had a great time using the Outlaw Designer Series Papers.

I love the earthy colours in this paper pack and using them for this project I’ve had the desire to make more items from this pack.

The stamps in this card are from Occasional Greetings, Baroque Motifs and Define your Life. All very versatile sets which can be used for many occasions.

This picture shows the card open leaving room in the centre for your own personal message or maybe a photo?

I do hope you like this card and if you’d like to make one I am holding a class at my place on Thursday where you make this card and a small gift for dad. So call me to book your spot!

Father’s Day Wallet

A friend of mine held a demonstration last night and what a great time it was – and to think they paid more attention to me than to the Olympic’s Opening Ceremony!

There were lots of ladies there and I do hope that they had as good a time as I did! This is the card we made as the make n take.

I’ve been seeing this card online for a while now and seemed to be everywhere when it was Father’s Day in USA and have always loved it and thought it a great card for the man in your life. There’s a great video tutorial for it on Dani’s blog

I’ve made this one for Father’s Day but by just changing the front stamp it could be for birthday or anything!

I also created a ‘faux’ credit card and ‘faux’ coin or token.

Recipe:
Stamps: Rough Texture wheel, Always, Occasional Greetings
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa
Paper: Close to Cocoa Cardstock, Kraft Cardstock, Basic Black Cardstock
Accessories: Daubers, Mat Pack, Tool kit, corner rounder punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, Sticky Strip, Stampin Write Journaler.

If you would like to hold a demonstration and make this card then ring or email me today to book in a date & time.

Have a great Saturday!
