Free Pass to Spring ….

How good would it be if you could just skip all this cold ikky weather and just fast forward to Spring??

Well if youre anything like me youre a little over the rain! Here in Sydney I think it has rained since last Autumn!  When you’ve been in a drought for so long its great to have enough rain to fill up your dams from 8% to 101% isnt it … well until they have to let the gates down and what isnt already flooded becomes flooded!

I suppose that saying ‘be careful what you wish for’ does have some truth in it!  So if you live on the Eastern side of Australia please stay safe and dont take any risks :)

Now I did mention a free pass didnt I??  a bit on that later!

Here’s a card I actually made a few weeks ago and is actually a case from one made by Jo Dumbleton

This card feels like it is Spring bursting out and saying hello!!

Remember the other day when I said that my lovely friend Cristena had invited me to be a Guest Designer for her ‘Bunny Tails Spring Edition’ for her online ‘Gettin Crafty’ classes well today I’m excited to be able to give one lucky reader a free pass to this round of classes. All you need to do is reply to this post and share your favourite Spring Memory – it could be something from your childhood or when hubby proposed or just recent too!

Be sure to pop your comment on as soon as possible as I’ll draw the winner tomorrow at 12 noon – so that gives you 23 hours to do some thinking and share your favourite Spring Memory.

Now if you’d like to join us over at Gettin Crafty Online Classes for the  ’Bunny Tails Spring Edition’  then just click here – you will get over 20 projects and ideas for just US$24.95 (so for us Aussies its even cheaper as our dollar is so good at the moment!)  Now if you join today and win the free pass tomorrow your joining fee will be refunded or you can keep it with Cristena for the next round!

If you’d like to be part of the Gettin Crafty community but not wanting to buy in for the classes then joining is free – just click here to join the forum today!

I am rather excited about being part of this round of classes with Cristena as she does the loveliest creations and she’s just about as crazy as me – I did say  ’just about’ ;)  It is an honour to be involved in this and I do hope you will join us over at Gettin Crafty Classes.

Sunny Spring Flowers

I am really loving getting into Spring colours and stamps at the moment even if it is now Autumn here!

I noticed this morning that over at Sunny Challenges my lovely friend and downline Libby Dyson is a Guest Designer for the current challenge so I had to play along!  Well truth be told I was going to play along with their Colour Challenge I saw the other day however when I went to the Sunny challenge blog this morning I now realise that was 3 challenges ago!!

Here is this week’s sketch by the loverly Libby ….

Sunny Challenge 30/12

I decided I would still go with the stamp set and colours I’d planned on using and just used Libby’s sketch and here is my card …

Spring Blues

I still had my blue back drop and my pearls out from taking photo’s of the Wedding Invitations I’d made recently so decided to use that for this card too.

Now I thought today I’d share a little trick I’ve learnt with the ribbon on the front of the card.  If you have been to any of my classes you’ll know that I love to show my ladies how to save the amount of ribbon they use and therefore make it last a little bit longer … and every little bit helps right?  If you look at the above card you might think that I’ve wrapped the ribbon all the way around and tied the bow at the front?  welllllllllllllll its not!

Here’s what I do …

Doing the bows the way I do them this is how they would look on your card – but we want to look natural – like they have been tied behind the bow. So these next steps show you how to get that “natural” look.

1. Take a piece of ribbon and a small piece of twine.  The ribbon should be long enough to cover the front of your card piece and say 1cm on each side to adhere to the back.

2.  Take your twine and tie it around the centre of your piece of ribbon – tie in a knot and snip off the ends of the twine. At this stage you can pop your long piece of ribbon around the piece of card and then stick the bow on.

Adhere your bow over the tied/gathered section and wallah – it looks like you’ve tied the whole thing around the card and its all pretty.

I always use Mini Glue Dots to pop my bows on and just pop one, sometimes two, behind the knot and you’re done!  When I use the glue dots those bows never come off!

Dont forget to pop over to the Sunny Challenges Blog and play along :)

Don’t forget its still Sale•a•bration and for this week only anyone who places a $100 order with me will not only receive gorgeous Stampin’ Up! products but they’ll also receive a bonus Sale•a•bration set of their choice plus I’m giving away 2 bonus Sponge Daubers with every order!  So be sure to get that order to me by Friday 9th March to get your extra extra bonus :)

Shimmery Festive Friday

Good Morning!!

Its a busy day here today with preparation for tonight’s Stamp A Latte Team meeting and for tomorrow’s Big Shot Boxed Up! class for Tracey and her friends. Yes I know I could have done some preparation and kit making however hubby bought home a Samsung Galaxy Tab to ‘assess’ and see if I wanted so whats a girl to do??  Oh and there were these cute little boxes I was making too that a friend in the USA shared with me – you’ll see those over the weekend!

Well its time for another Festive Friday and here is my card for this week …

Shimmery Greetings

Recipe
Stamps: Curly Cute, Easy Events
Paper: White Shimmer
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Pear Pizzaz Stampin Write Marker, Poppy Parade Stampin Write Marker, Big Shot, Petals a Plenty Embossing Folder, Vanilla Velvet ribbon, Pearl Jewels

This one turned out to be a very classy Christmas card and one that I think will be very popular this year although I will need to stock up on the velvet ribbon as its only available until the end of March with the Summer mini catalogue.

Be sure you hop over to Nicole’s blog for all the details of the Festive Friday Challenge #7 and play along!

We are also half way through Sale-a-bration and you still have time to get those free stamp sets so be sure to get your orders to me or contact me to host your Stampin’ Up! Workshop by the end of March. These sets are purely for Sale-a-bration and do not come into any future catalogues so once March is over these sets will no longer be available.

I am also hosting a “Leap into it” online Workshop on Wednesday with it being 29th February and we all know that only happens every 4 years!  I’ll be offering free tutorials, an online cyber stamp and when you place an order of $100 or more you’ll be entered into my mystery hostess draw and receive a free make n take kit – but remember orders must be placed with me by Wednesday. Feel free to contact me if you need more details or have any questions!

Chat n Challenge

One of the best things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is all the wonderful people you meet throughout the world! Some of my best friends are Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators and some live in USA and Canada!  That is how I met the lovely Cristena Bagne and Christyne Richardson – through SUDSOL which is a Demonstrator only group.

Now each week SUDSOL they have a Chat time – actually I think its a couple of times a week! Sometimes its a Business Chat and sometimes its just a chat time. Today it was “Chat n Challenge” hosted by Cristena – she gave us a sketch to make something for and here is the sketch …

Chat n Challenge #204

Now last night I hadnt slept well at all … I think I managed like 2 hours so creating anything was a major achievement in itself!

Here is what I created …

Recipe:
Stamps: Forever Young, Elements of Style
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, River Rock, Timeless Portrait DSP
Ink: Basic Black, River Rock, Island Indigo, Soft Suede
Accessories: Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Big Shot, Scallop Cirle Duo, Circle Scissor Plus, Glass mat, Stampin Sponges, Sticky Strip, Stampin Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots

I hope you like my card – I’m still unsure. I went with the colours from the Timeless Portrait Designer Series Paper Pack and these are not my usual colours.

It was a fun card to make and reminds me of the house we grew up in and the big old tree we had in the back yard. Cant remember if it had a swing on it but we did have a very old swing that I think my grandfather may have made for us. Must find some old photo’s of the house and garden in Portland and do some scrapbooking!

Now if you are a demonstrator and would like to try the SUDSOL group for free for 2 weeks then please click on the button below …

Vintage Flower

Good Morning!!

Well the sun is finally shining and I do feel I am winning against this flu!

Its Saturday so time for another Utah Divas Sketch Challenge and here is today’s sketch …

Now this sketch has so much potential – I even made a card completely different to my original idea so you might just see another sample later in the week!

I helped my newest “Latte” team member last night with her business launch and she asked I demonstrate the flowers on the front of the Summer Mini Catalogue so I thought I’d incorporate them into this week’s sketch card and here is my card …

Fun Vintage Flower

Oh dear I should have straightened that photo a bit hey? sorry!

I love this flower die and running them through the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and giving them a little sponging just makes them pop!!  It’s been  a while since I used a wheel too and love this Friendly Words Jumbo Wheel.  This is a lovely quick and easy card and the girls last night loved my flowers!

Now be sure you hop over to the Utah Divas International Blog to see what the other lovely ladies have created – oh and please say a prayer for Ruthie B who is at the hospital with her Mom.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Hello and Happy Valentine’s Day!

I just wanted to pop in and wish you a lovely day and share a cute little project I made today to give to my beautiful girls and hubby.

Valentine's Treats

This was the very first time I’ve played with the treat cups – can you believe that?? What fun they are – they make gorgeous little gifts like this!  When researching all the things you can do with them this morning I now have a whole heap of ideas to try!

I do hope you like the little treats I made and I’m sure the family will too!

Here’s just one little Valentine thought I’d like to leave with you ….

God Bless!

Topsy-Turvy Sketch

Good Morning … and what a lovely Saturday it is – blue skies!! Yes you read that right!!

Its Saturday and that means another Utah Divas Sketch Challenge and here is this week’s sketch …

Sketch #174

I really didnt want to do hearts or valentines and I wanted to use some stamps that I earned for free from the recent Bookathon Demonstrators took part in and this is what I came up with …

Topsy-Turvy Birthday

Recipe
Stamps: Topsy-Turvy Celebrations (Summer Mini)
Paper:  Peach Parfait, Whisper White, Regal Rose, Flirtatious DSP
Ink: Peach Parfait, Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight
Accessories:  Stampamajig, Stampin Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.

I just love this cake!! It’s a wee bit funky isnt it??

It makes for a very cute card and it must be ok as my nearly 15yo daughter gave it her ‘squeal of approval‘!

This card is fun and quite easy to make and I’d love to show you how at your workshop – all you need is a few friends and the desire to have a lot of fun!  Contact me today to book your workshop in and start earning free stamps with Sale•a•bration and more when you have a qualifying workshop!

Be sure to check out the Utah Divas Blog for all the other gorgeous creations created by the Saturday Sketch Challenge Design team!

Kindness Mini Album

Wow is all I can say and thank you so much for all the gorgeous comments about my Enchanted Album I shared for the ESAD Sale•a•bration Blog Hop.

Recently we ran a Secret Stampin Sister swap within our ESAD group and I made that same album for my sister using Beau Chateau Designer Series Papers and the Kindness Matters Stamp set

Kindness Album

Those little butterflies from the Kindness Matters fit perfectly into the frame on the Beau Chateau Designer paper dont you think?

I am so in-love with these papers and the colour combinations and the ‘vintage-ness’ of the papers.  The greeting on this little pocket is from the Happiness Shared stamp set – sorry its hard to see.

The blue and soft suede seem to go so well together as well … not sure if you can see them in the photo but I have staggered those tiny pearls within the image stamped on the base page.  The flourish image comes from the Creative Elements stamp set.

I have had such a dilemma using these two pieces of paper but they seem to fit well with this double page spread.  Roosters and wire and the flowers in the rooster paper are on the memories paper but larger so they were perfect to cut out and layer on here with the ‘Memories’ word cut out.  A nice pocket for putting in some journalling or thoughts. Or maybe pop a journalling box on the left page and slot a few photo’s into the pocket – you decide!

Border with 'Pearls and Lace'

I love the simplicity of this page! The design is busy enough and if you added too much more it would be too much. So a simply border using the Lace Ribbon Border punch and some of our gorgeous adhesive pearl jewels.  So feminine and so very vintage.

I do hope you like this version of my little album and I do so hope that my sister liked it too!  I will be making a tutorial for this album so stay tuned for that!

Falling Hearts

Firstly, let me wish you all a very Happy New Year!!

My prayer is that you have a blessed and prosperous 2012 and may it bring you more joy than you’ve ever known!

I know its been a while since I posted and I did consider posting earlier however I also needed a break so I took a little me time and have started de-cluttering the house and my body – well that’s the plan at least!

Now I know I’m running really late for the Utah Divas Sketch Challenge from Saturday but I’ve made the card and its been a bugger to photograph but I wanted to share it anyways.

Here is the latest sketch ….

I was going to do something other than hearts but I do have an anniversary to make a card for and Valentine’s Day is coming up in just a few weeks so decided to go back to the hearts and this is what I came up with ….

Falling Hearts

Now I had real trouble trying to get a good picture of this card due to how I’ve made it -  the hearts are actually in an open section strung on some bakers twine.  You will see what I mean by the following picture.

Its not a very good photo but I think you can see how the card works.  Its just a little bit different to your regular card!  Now the trick will be to write inside the card without it showing behind those hearts and open section!

I hope you like my little card and be sure to check out the Utah Divas Sketch Challenge Blog and see what delicacies the other Designing Divas came up with!

Now this week I will be scheduling classes, workshops and clubs for 2012 so if there is something you’d like to learn, a technique you’d like to try or a project you wish to make then please contact me so I can schedule it for you.

Dont forget Sale•a•Bration starts next week so if you havent got your Sale•a•Bration brochure yet contact me and I’ll pop one in the post to you!  You may wish to book your workshop in when you contact me so you too can earn free Sale•a•Bration stamps!
