Parisian Love

Well after Tuesday stinkin hot 40C day Wednesday’s 20C was a nice relief and now today its raining – this is a good thing for the gardens and the fish pond out the front as the water level was going down with that very hot Tuesday we had.

ParisianLoveWhat better way to spend a rainy day than stamping! Well I cant hang the washing out can I??

Here is the last card I made last week with my Dreams du Jour stamp set.

With the Spring Mini finishing at the end of this month I thought I’d better use some more of the very yummy Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This card is very easy to make and the colouring is easy too and its sooo therapeutic.

I’ve just used the Pretty in Pink in the centre of the flower and butterflies, then used Baja Breeze then Close to Cocoa on the edges of the butterfly wings.

If you would like to see the recipe for this card then just click on the image and it will take you to the project information on my Stampin Up! Demonstrator Website.

So if there is still something in the Spring Mini Catalogue that you dont have and ‘need’ to have email or ring me today to place your order!

Raspberry Dreams

When I originally bought Dreams du Jour stamp set it was just for the little butterfly in the set and since then I’ve felt a tad guilty – it makes it an expensive butterfly stamp!

StampSetDreamsduJour

It IS a great set for just $33.95 as it has 4 stamps in it so when you break it down thats just $8.50 a stamp and who wouldnt pay $8.50 for any of these stamps!

So over the past week I’ve been keeping the set on my desk so I could make more cards and therefore make the stamp set worth the purchase!

RaspberryDreams

I love how this card turned out! I do like the Raspberry Tart DSP but I find it a bit much at times although I do think that when you layer images over the top like on this card it all tends to blend in.

Recipe:
Stamps: Dreams du Jour
Paper: Rose Red card stock, Pretty in Pink Card stock, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Jet Black Stazon, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, sponge daubers, Creamy Caramel Stampin’ Write Marker.

I’ve finished my card off with a little sponging of the eyelet border with my daubers and tied a pink bow around the card – make a pretty feminine card dont you think?

Urban Dreams

Good Morning!!

Its a cool Spring morning here in Campbelltown and thought I’d best start the day sharing a card with you!

UrbanDreams1

This is a card I actually made last week but havent had a chance to post till now and was actually one that inspired my Diva Sketch Challenge last Saturday.

I love the colours in the Urban Garden Designer Series Paper pack so I just used the same colours in cardstock and inks to colour and stamp the Dream du Jour image.

If you look in your 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue on page 132 you will see all the lovely Designer Series Papers you can get and if you look closer you will notice that with each pack Stampin’ Up! have included a colour swatch of what colours they used for each pack! How cool is that?? sure helps me to choose colours for my creations – it takes the hours of guess work out of  ‘will this colour cardstock match this paper??’

I do hope you are proud of me as I actually used the Blender Pens on this card to colour the flowers of the stamped image! I do struggle with these pens as I find that the paper pills when I try to do larger images so maybe I just havent worked out the ‘knack’ of using them right yet. I tend to go to my aqua painter as I do love that brush!

UrbanDreams2Something different I tried for this card was the centre of the flower.

This second image shows the layering of the card and image. Now if you look a little closer you might see what I’ve used for the centre of the flower.

Look closer ….

I’ve actually used one of the tiny silver spacer beads you get in the Pretties Kit – I’ve put a drop of Crystal Effects on the centre of the flower then dropped the bead on and on its side so it looks round from the front.  It was one of those “oooo I like that” moments!

I do hope you like this card as much as I do – really do love how this turned out and it will be going to someone special too!

Well best be off and get tidied before the cleaning ladies get here!

Diva Sketch Challenge 53

Its that time of the week again – Saturday – so another Utah Divas Sketch Challenge!

I love this sketch!

To start with this card I first chose the stamp set I wanted to use which was Dreams du Jour as I’ve had it for some time and havent used it much at all. Then I decided on which pack of Designer Series Paper I wanted to use and went with Bella Rose DSP as I wanted to make a feminine card.

I find if I’m using DSP on a card then if I use the colours that is in that pack and the card comes together quite well. However in saying this I did change the colours about 4 times before getting a combination I was happy with!

Here’s my card …

DSC53I am rather happy with the final card and the taffeta ribbon is a must.

I did make a similar card to this one the other day and will share that during the week so when I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I wanted to do!

I do love this little Dreams du Jour set but have struggled with what to do with it and think this has shown that you dont need a huge stamp set to create a nice card – you can do that with just one stamp!

The dreams image has dimensionals behind it and I’ve layered the flower at the top for more dimension.

DSC53flowerNow for the centre of the layered flower I have used a spacer bead – but I’ve put it on its side. I first put a dot of Crystal Effects on the centre of the flower and then dropped the bead in on its side so it looks like a tiny silver ball in the centre of the flower.

Hopefully you can see what I mean in the picture – mind you its hard to get a good ‘up close’ picture of something so small without having the “top of the line Canon Camera”!

Just before I go I wanted to let you know that I now have a lovely Stampin Up!® Demonstrator Business Website. It has all things ‘businessy’ there and you can view projects there from both myself and Stampin Up! You can also view my Calendar to see what events and classes I have coming up and also sign up online to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and part of my team.

Its all pretty cool and its purple too!! If you would like to have a look you can find it at www.leonieschroder.stampinup.net and I’ll be popping a link in my sidebar soon too. So go have a look and let me know what you think ;)

Diva Sketch Challenge 33

Wow can you believe we are up to #33 already? and can you believe I’ve done two posts within 24 hours?? well wonders never cease do they!!

Here is this week’s sketch.

When Alicia first sent me this sketch I did have that “what on earth do I do with that??” thought but then I got to thinking and yes I do know that can be very dangerous!

dsc33I had just mounted my Dreams du Jour set and its such a gorgeous set and this is the card I came up with and yes it seems those naughty Cherished Teddies have snuck into another photo! They can be so cheeky sometimes. (OK yes I’m tired – I’ve spent the past 24 hours on a friends blog and have had very little sleep)

Recipe:

Stamps: Dreams du Jour
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Very Vanilla, Bella Rose DSP
Inks: Basic Black Classic Ink, Ridinghood Red
Accessories:  Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, Scalloped Square Punch, Nestabilities, Big Shot, Dimensionals, Watercolour Pencils.

This too was a very quick and easy card to make so hope you like this one too.

Now it really is time for bed – I did tell Kerri that I was going to bed nearly 2 hours ago so just dont tell her ok? If you’d like to check out Kerri’s new blog you can see it here and while you’re at it dont forget to check out the Utah Divas Blog too as they have a new header as well!

Someone really has been busy this week ;)

Till next time
