Secret Owl

Do you remember the cartoon Secret Squirrel??  I remember watching it as a kid and how much I loved it – they dont make cartoons like that anymore!  I’ve now moved on to other ‘Spy’ shows now to those like Spooks – mind you they are a little more dramatic than that of Secret Squirrel.

Last week I shared my “Owl of Happiness” and today I want to share with you my “Secret Owl”

I just love this Owl punch!

I also love spy shows so just had to combine the two – now if only I could sneak a Latte in there he’d be set and give Sir Harry or Lucas North a run for their money!

Recipe
Stamps: Cute and Curly
Paper: Woodland Park DSP, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade
Inks: Bashful Blue, Early Espresso
Accessories: Two Step Extra Large Owl Punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, scalloped circle punch, Old Olive Taffeta ribbon, crystal effects

Now for the inside of the card ….

I have used the scallop circle punch to create a cloud template and then sponged with Bashful Blue ink all over the Whisper White piece.

I placed my Secret Owl inside whilst looking through the tree hole on the front.  The Little Leaves were then slid in under the owl’s feet.

I used Crystal Effects on his eyes and heart as it just lifts the owls so much.

I do hope you like this card and it really is so much fun to make and I’d love to show you how so why not contact me to arrange your workshop

Dont forget now is the perfect time to hold a workshop as you can start on Christmas projects and earn free ribbon by purchasing Christmas Bundles or holding a qualifying workshop.

Birthday Whimsy

Today is my sweet baby girl’s 11th birthday!  Hard to believe it was 11 years ago that Miss Emily came into the world – and in a hurry too I might add!! Just over 2 hours labour – eeeeek!  It all seems like yesterday – well ok maybe not yesterday but not that long ago!

Emily has always loved the Garden Whimsy stamp set so I went straight for that set to create her card.

When I had the thought of those butterflies I thought them flying through the grass would be a nice effect and I thought what better stamp for grass than the one from Inspired by Nature.  I added a bit of sponging for the grass and added some sponged clouds using the scallop circle punch.

As I had a Stamp A Stack here yesterday I gave hubby the task of doing birthday shopping – brave I know!  He did quite well and just goes to prove he can buy birthday presents after all!

It was then my task last night to create the gift bag to fit the presents in.  I found a tutorial by the lovely Makeesha and just did some tweaking with the measurements to fit the presents in. So two sheets of Sweet Always Designer Series Paper and some ribbon later and we have a bag for the presents!

I just stamped some more butterflies, cut them out and popped them on and whallah :)

I hope she has a wonderful day today as she’s going to bed early tonight after one of her friends slept over last night … well not sure they actually slept so maybe we should call it a giggle-over!!
