Fluttering Hello

Good Morning … just Fluttering in to say Hello on this Sunny Sunday!

I have another card for you today from my Ways to Use Embossing Folders class using the Fluttering Embossing Folder and the Butterflies Thinlits ..

Fluttering - Inked Embossed Folder Technique - Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator AustraliaThe technique I’ve on this card is the inked embossing folder technique.  It’s quick and easy and gives such a wow – it really makes the embossed images pop!

Fluttering - Inked Embossed Folder Technique - Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator AustraliaSimply ink the embossed folder with a brayer, pop your cardstock in and run it through the Big Shot and it’s done.  I’ve used Sweet Sugarplum ink with Sweet Sugarplum cardstock for the tone on tone contrast.

It really is that easy and you do want to use a rubber brayer and you ink up the side of the folder you want inked so for this one I inked the side that has the background raised.

Fluttering - Inked Embossed Folder Technique - Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator AustraliaMy butterfly is done in Vellum and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

I’ve used vellum with the Bold Butterfly outline die which fits perfectly behind the cut out butterfly which I’ve done in the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.

Remember when cutting out dies with our Glimmer paper to turn the Glimmer paper over so you are cutting direct into the card backing and not through the glitter on top.  This works for all dies except letters, numbers & words.

My next Ways to Use class is Saturday 1st April and it’s Ways to Use Markersclick here to RSVP or contact me to arrange your class by mail.

Stamped Emboss Woodlands

Good Afternoon!  I have another card for you today from my ‘Ways to Use – Embossing Folders’ class.  Today’s card uses the Stamped Emboss Technique ..

I love this technique and I  love how you get a different look every time!

Technique Quick Steps ..

  1. Choose an Embossing Folder that will work with a ‘background’ like Woodland.
  2.  Stamp image onto the side with the raised background – usually the side with the Sizzix logo on it.
  3.  Place cardstock onto unstamped side of folder and close. Run through Big Shot once or twice to ensure a good transfer of the stamped image/s.

For my background on this card I simply stamped the tree canopy stamp from Sheltering Tree on my folder using Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum.

I loved the look so much I did it in a landscape card as well …

You dont want to cover up all the work you’ve just done so a small simply sentiment is perfect for this card.

I hope you like my cards as much as the ladies at the class did – they were very happy with the results of this card.

Dont forget to get your orders in this month so you dont miss out on any of the free Saleabration items.  Being the last weeks of Saleabration the products are while stocks last so be sure to get those orders in before you miss out – some of the items have already run out in the USA!

Ways to use Embossing Folders – Brick Wall

Good Morning and Welcome to another edition of my new Ways to Use Classes and this month it’s Ways to Use Embossing Folders.

This class was so much fun and the ladies all loved it and it will be available as a Class To Go for you to purchase this week – or you can also get it for free so keep reading on for those details!

Brick Wall Sponging …

I loved doing this card and making the background.  I’ve used the Brick Wall embossing folder with Very Vanilla Cardstock. I then sponged with blues, browns and gray inks to  get this effect.

I wanted to emulate those plaques and metal decor items you can get for the outside entertaining areas.  I chose the pots from Gift from the Garden Stamp Set and just coloured my stamp with my Stampin’ Write Markers before stamping.  The sentiment is cut out using one of the frames from the Project Life Cards & Labels Framelit pack.

I do love the way the bricks are vertical – it’s like one of those trendy new style feature walls.

How perfect would this card be to go with a plaque or plant for a housewarming present?

Be sure to check back later this week to get all the details for my Ways to Use Embossing Folders Virtual Class!

Big on Birthdays

It’s true … at Stampin’ Up! we are Big on Birthdays and since everyone has one I think you should be celebrated on your special day!

That is why, when I opened my Occasions Catalogue for the first time, I fell in love with this set …

There are lots of cool cards you can make with this set and when Janene held her party recently she asked for one from the catalogue as one of her make and takes …

This card is quite quick and easy to put together. The trickiest part was getting the Baker’s Twine to sit correctly but a strategically placed piece of Tear n Tape and a mini glue dot and wallah – perfect.

I have a new series of classes starting this Sunday.  Each month I’ll be running my Any Occasion Card Class and each month will have a different theme – this month (Sunday) is Birthdays so be sure to let me know if you’d like to come along.   You can find all the details for the class here and as part of the kit you’ll receive one of our gorgeous Gold Stripe Card Tins!

Contact me today to reserve your seat.

Ways to Use – WaterColor Pencils

Good Afternoon!  Well it’s another hot one out there today so hope you are keeping cool.  Yesterday was my Ways to Use – Watercolor Pencils Class.

This is a new style of class I’m starting this year – classes to help you use our tools or products in different ways so you get the most of your Stampin’ Up! Products.  These classes will be in my home and available the following week as an Online Class.

Our first card was how to make a love Watercolor Rainbow Wash background with your Watercolor Pencils ….

This card is so lovely yet so easy to do and is one that was demonstrated by Shelli at On Stage Live in Brisbane last November.

The ladies in class loved how pretty it turned out yet how easy it was to make.

To finish the card we just cut the dancing dragonflies from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and popped them on with dimensionals.  We did flick some Gold Wink of Stella on our card for some extra glimmer and to give it more of an arty feel.

This card really is fun and super easy and I could bring this one along as your make and take project at your party – just contact me to book your party today!

If you are considering getting these gorgeous Watercolor Pencils be sure to order them as soon as possible as they are currrently on ‘Low Inventory’ at the Warehouse.  It seems their popularity has smashed all the forecasts by Stampin’ Up!

Medallions for You

Good Morning! I do hope you had a lovely Christmas with your family and loved ones.

I have a sweet card to share with you today and it was the last of the cards from my Paisley & Posies Class …

It’s rather quick and easy and perfect for any occasion you need!

The splatter comes from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set and the medallions are all from the Paisley and Posies Set.   This just shows you how very versatile this set is as you dont just have to make ‘paisley’ cards with it.

Today is a rest day for me … yesterday we spent the whole day travelling – I left with my oldest and one of her friends at 7.45am and arrived at my sister’s house around 8.20pm!  It was a long day of driving some 850 kilometres – which is about 530 miles for my imperial friends.

Everyone is still in bed – well except for my Brother In Law who’s been up and about for hours already – so I’m making the most of my quiet time and getting some ‘work’ done.

Brightly Blessed

Good Morning!

It’ a busy day here today with grocery shopping this morning, some blog help for a friend at lunch and then tonight it’s off to the Council Chambers for the Victor Chang Science Awards where, apparently, my youngest is receiving an award!  How cool is that?

Today’s card is one I made using the Paisleys and Posies Stamp Set …

I do love this set and this will be one of the cards we make this Saturday for my November Birthday Card Club.  For this card I went away from the ‘paisley’ and just used the ‘posies’ type stamps.

I also love the brightness of this card and how well the colours seem to go with each other – sometimes we just need something bright that tells people how blessed we are to have them in our lives.

I also love those Stitched Shape Framelits – this one uses the oval Stitched Framelits and it’s not even the largest one in the set – such wonderful value for money!

I’ve decorated my card with some Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon, Enamel Shapes and Rhinestone Jewels.

Don’t forget I’m gifting one of our Anniversary Scrap Bins with orders of $70 or more and still have a couple left to gift so be sure to get your order in so you can get yours for free!

Don’t forget to check out what’s on sale …

I hope you grab some bargains and give the gift of creativity this year for Christmas!
