Good Morning – I hope you’ve been have a wonderful week and yay …it’s nearly the weekend! Today’s card was one I did for a recent private class using the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set.
The ladies wanted to do cards learning new techniques. This card has the Spritzed Block Background Technique and they really loved how their backgrounds all came out so differently yet used the same colours and products.
Sprizted Block Background Technique
This is a fun technique to do and you’ve probably got all the tools you need to do it yourself. You just need an acrylic block, Stampin’ Write Markers and a Stampin’ Spritzer with water.
Simply colour direct onto your acrylic block with your markers randomly and then spritz finely with the water. Stamp your block onto your cardstock and give it a good press all over. Then lift and dab any excess water or use your Heat Tool to dry your piece off. Then stamp and create your card. You will want to make sure your card layer is dry before stamping on it or it may run.
I’ve stamped my flourish stamp in pool party and then using the Flourish Framelits cut one out of Copper Foil to adhere over the top.
I’ve also coloured my pearls with a bronze metallic sharpie pen for a more metallic look to the card. Finish it off with some of our gorgeous Copper Trim and you have one classy card.
I hope you like today’s card and should you wish to learn some techniques with your friends or just get together and stamp some cards contact me and we’ll arrange your own private class.
Today’s class is going to be lots of fun!
We will be using the lovely and elegant Year Of Cheer Suite from the Holiday Catalogue
We’ll make a boxed set of 5 cards & envelopes – it will be perfect for a gift or use the cards and just use the Gift Box for a gift!

Good Afternoon – It’s Friday and we’ve made it through another week – go us!! Today I have a wonderful technique to share with you – Ink Smooshing!
Ink Smooshing Technique
This is a really fun technique to do although it can be a little messy so you’ll need to make sure you have your table or work area cleared and protected. Now I dont mean a huge 6′ drop sheet – just a 12×12 worksheet is sufficient. I used one of the backing boards from our Foil cardstock to work on.
If you search online you’ll see a few different ways to do this technique and I opted to do mine using a ziploc bag with my hand inside to do the ‘smooshing’. Now I’m not sure when the word ‘smooshing’ became a real word but we’ll go with it as that’s what you do – you smoosh the ink onto the watercolor paper!
I used the colours Lemon Lime Twist, Tempting Turquoise and Island Indigo on my piece and this is what it looked like before adding the stamping, die cuts & embellishments.
Want step by step instructions for the Ink Smooshing Technique?
I do hope you have lots of fun with this tutorial and be sure to share what you make!
Hello and welcome 🙂 Today I have a sweet project for you using the Merry Little Labels Bundle and the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper pack.
Merry Little Labels Tags …
These tags really were heaps of fun to create and all you need is the Merry Little Tags Bundle, Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, a couple of ink pads and a couple of markers!
Having the punch in the Bundle make these tags quick and easy and while I was making the tags I thought how easy it would be to turn the tags into cards!
Merry Little Labels Cards
I converted two of my tags into cards using the gorgeous Note Cards from Stampin’ Up!
I love this little tag stamp with the trees and the deer. Now I know Christmas in Australia does not include snow but that stamp is just so pretty! When choosing the patterned paper for this one I opted for the tree design and it’s like a continuation of the trees in the image.
I am loving this one! I love the wreath behind the tag! Those wreaths are so much fun as they have wire in them so they are easy to manipulate and shape to whatever you want them to be!
These were so quick and fun I made them in this week’s Project Video …
I do hope you enjoy the video – I know it goes for over 10 minutes but I show you how to create a couple of tags and the cards plus I’ve included a couple of stamping tips for you!
If you like the look of these little tags and cards why not join me on 5th November for my Merry Little Labels class? We’ll start at 2pm and have some fun created some gorgeous tags and cards for Christmas! Click the button below to register!
