Hanging Stockings

I have a busy weekend coming up with not one but two Stamp A Stacks and both ladies wanted cards with the Stitched Stockings & Stocking Tag Punch so I thought I’d make a new card to share with them.

I have seen a couple of  cards recently and I wanted to combine a couple of the elements into the one card. So this is a result of the cards I saw from Jackie Bolhuis and Belinda Tubby – thanks ladies for the inspiration!

Here is my card ….

I love how this turned out and I’m happy too as I managed to use up some of my retired Designer SEries Paper!!

How cute are those mini Brads?? They are going to be perfect for alot of new cards where the other brads were too much or too big.

I hope you like my card and now I best be off and finish the kits for the weekend … just have to cut enough cardstock to make 30 of these little cards!!

Now dont forget when you hold a workshop and your sales reach $450 then you can get this stamp set and the matching punch absolutely free!! Now dont stress – if you still want the punch & stamp set you can purchase them during the month of October :)

Item Description Price
125798 Stitched Stocking Wood-Mount Set $53.95

This is a very cute and quick card to do!

I would also like to thank all those who commented and sent me messages after yesterday’s post about my mum. They are all very much appreciated and I covet your prayers.  You dont realise just how much affect one person has on your life or on other’s lives. Mum was a school teacher and as kids we always went to the school she taught at. While at school this was such a drag as you werent you but you were Mrs Groenenboom’s daughter and this meant being picked on at times but now we are all grown up so many have said what a positive impact she was in their lives and she was! So again, I thank you all for the beautiful messages and continued support xx

Christmas Pals

I suppose you dont want me to tell you thats its just 6 months till Christmas do you??  mmm didnt think so!

I do a regular Stamp A Stack for my sister and she has at least one Christmas card each time as this way by the time Christmas comes around she’ll have a nice supply of Christmas cards and wont get the ‘Christmas Overload’ before it actually gets here!

Last week we made these two cards …

I love these cards and the simple design – makes for a lovely ‘queasy’ Christmas Card! All you need to create these lovelies is one stamp set, 3 colours in cardstock, 2 inks, one roll of ribbon and markers – too easy!

I love the funky designs in the Punch Pals stamp set and these cards are even easy enough for the kids to do too!

I love this tree!

I’ve just stamped the image in Jet Black Stazon then using my Stampin Write Markers I use the fine point and fill in the outline of the stamp. I then use my handy Aqua Painter to pull the colour to the centre of the image.

So So Easy!

Who doesnt love a cute snowman card at Christmas?

Sample clean & simple layout just change the image!

Again I’ve stamped in Jet Black Stazon and then used my Stampin’ Write markers to colour the outline of the image. I find you really cant beat Tempting Turquoise for snow!

Now when you pull the colour from the images and you find there’s not enough colour just grab your Classic Ink Pad and squish the pad before opening and then use the ink from the inside of the lid to add a little more colour with the Aqua Painter.  Be sure to water the ink down as you dont want it too dark and spoiling the subtlety of the image.

To do this just give your Aqua Painter a squeeze to let some water through and then just mix it with the ink on the lid. Now if its real watery be sure to soak up the excess water with a tissue or paper towel before closing your pad – you dont want to water down the ink pad!

I love these two cards and I havent even done a penguin one yet – bet remedy that I think!! I lurv penguins :)

I hope you like these Christmas cards and if you’d like to do these at a Workshop or Stamp A Stack then please dont hesitate to contact me to book in your date!

Jingle all the Way

Well I’ve been up since 4.30am!!  This is what happens when you feel ill and go to bed at 9.30pm – well its what happens to me.

So I decided to utilise this lovely quiet time and make a couple of cards and continued on with the Christmas Theme from yesterday. Well the Christmas Classic set was still on my desk so why waste energy getting a new set out?

I remembered the pretty sketch challenge from Stamping 411 so decided to use that for my next card.

I do love to make cards from sketches as I find when I look at a sketch I can see so many cards with it whereas if I just go and pull out a stamp set to use I can deliberate for hours on colours, papers and layout.

You should give a sketch a try – use any of the ones I’ve done or just simply do a Google search on ‘sketch challenge’ and I’m sure you’ll be amazed at how many places have these challenges every week.

Here is my card ….

jinglebreeze

Recipe:

Stamps:  Christmas Classics, Baroque Motifs
Paper:  Baja Breeze, Ridinghood Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Ski Slope DSP
Inks:  Baja Breeze
Accessories:  Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker, Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker, More Mustard Stampin’ Write Marker, 1/4″ Chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, eyelet border punch, stampin dimensionals, snail adhesive.

This is another very quick and easy card and a great one to make for christmas as you could do a few in no time at all!

Now I think I might take this aching body back to bed for a little nap and try and get over this flu.

Just Add Ribbon

I did a Christmas Stamp A Stack for my sister last weekend and she’d asked for a card using the City of David stamp set.

Knowing my sister and her love of ribbon (not) I decided to make the card fairly plain as I also knew there were some first time stampers coming.

This is the card we made – well one of the three we made.

We’ve used Always Artichoke for the base card and mat behind the stamped image. The images were also stamped in Always Artichoke onto the Naturals and sponged around the edges again using the Always Artichoke.

I’ve cut a piece of the script designer series paper from the Holiday Harmony pack in the Spring Mini Catalogue.

I did explain to the guests that the sample did not have any ribbon as the hostess has a thing aobut ribbon – dont ask me why but it does make you wonder if we are really related!! Or maybe I just got her ‘love of ribbon’ gene!

I did take along a roll of the burgundy grosgrain and the Artichoke grosgrain so if the guests wanted to they could add some ribbon.

Here are two samples of how I added the ribbon to the card.

This first one was just wrapping the Artichoke Grosgrain around the top two layers and tying a flat knot in the centre.

The second one was tying a knot in the middle of the Burgundy grosgrain then wrapping it around the top layer. This is just one simple knot which you tie just tight enough to give you a flat triangle knot in your ribbon.

Now just on the Spring Mini Catalogue I just wanted to remind you that this mini finishes on 30th November so if there is anything in that catalogue you ‘need’ to ring and order soon before it expires. Some things you might like are …

  • Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
  • Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon
  • Holiday Harmony Designer Series Papers
  • Silver Hodgepodge hardware
  • On Board Trimmings
  • Tags for All stamp set (to make all those christmas tags)
  • Summer Picnic Designer Series Papers
  • Apple Cider Designer Series Papers
  • Blooms Die cuts
  • A Perfect Day rubons
  • Eastern Elegance rubons
  • Boho Blossoms Punch
  • Always Stamp set

Remember that even though a particular item in this catalogue was very popular it doesnt guarantee it will be in the 2009 Idea Book and Catalogue. You can email, ring or post your order to me.

Have a great day.
