Swinging into Christmas

Can you believe its less than 4 weeks to Christmas? how scary is that?

Today was my “Christmas Cards with More” class and the ladies enjoyed making the cards which is always nice. One of the cards they made was this lovely Swing Card …

swingchristmasclosed

To create this card I used the faithful Season of Joy stamp set with a little help from Christmas Classics.

I followed the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers but found their sizes would not fit in our regular C6 envelopes so I went to resizing and converting to metric. After a few alterations I came up with a card and sizing I was happy with.

This card is called a Swing card due to the centre panel swinging around as you open the card.

Here’s the open card …

I love this card – its simple enough but a nice card to send to someone special.

Dont forget Season of Joy is part of the ‘Dress Up Christmas’ promotion where when you purchase Season of Joy and the So Swirly wheel you will receive a free roll of ribbon. If you’d like to order this or any other bundle please do not hesitate to contact me – this promotion finishes 30th November so be sure to contact me before Tuesday.

I hope you like this card and if you’d like to learn how to make this card please email or ring me to book in for the “2011 Movers Card Class” which will be held in January, 2011.

How are you going with your Christmas Shopping? If youre like me you usually buy your own presents. Well how would you like to get stamps and accessories for Christmas  and still have the hubby or kids to shop & pop under the tree?

Well now you can!

Then all they have to do is to contact me and I will place the order and wrap it and have it to you in time to put it under the tree.  If you wish to take advantage of this Christmas Wish List please make sure hubby or the kids contact me by 10th December, 2010.

Jingle all the Way

Well I’ve been up since 4.30am!!  This is what happens when you feel ill and go to bed at 9.30pm – well its what happens to me.

So I decided to utilise this lovely quiet time and make a couple of cards and continued on with the Christmas Theme from yesterday. Well the Christmas Classic set was still on my desk so why waste energy getting a new set out?

I remembered the pretty sketch challenge from Stamping 411 so decided to use that for my next card.

I do love to make cards from sketches as I find when I look at a sketch I can see so many cards with it whereas if I just go and pull out a stamp set to use I can deliberate for hours on colours, papers and layout.

You should give a sketch a try – use any of the ones I’ve done or just simply do a Google search on ‘sketch challenge’ and I’m sure you’ll be amazed at how many places have these challenges every week.

Here is my card ….

Recipe:

Stamps:  Christmas Classics, Baroque Motifs
Paper:  Baja Breeze, Ridinghood Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Ski Slope DSP
Inks:  Baja Breeze
Accessories:  Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker, Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker, More Mustard Stampin’ Write Marker, 1/4″ Chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, eyelet border punch, stampin dimensionals, snail adhesive.

This is another very quick and easy card and a great one to make for christmas as you could do a few in no time at all!

Now I think I might take this aching body back to bed for a little nap and try and get over this flu.
