Secret Stampin Sister Round 4

Its that time again – a new round of the Secret Stampin’ Sister program! I cant believe we are up to round 4 already!

I’ve received  a couple of gorgeous cards this month and I wanted to share them with you today.

How nice is this card?

These arent colours I would have put together but dont they look so very nice?? Colours used are Kraft (Crumb Cake), Baja Breeze and Elegant Eggplant.  I’m going to add this one to my Stamp A Stack Selection – I love it.

I love the touch of the Elegant Eggplant ribbon and the scrunched flower.

They have used the lovely Medallion stamp too – I thought it odd when I’d made those Medallion cards the other week and here comes one in the mail for me!

Now I received this card a couple of weeks ago and then yesterday I received the second card for the month of August.

How cool is this one?? and just in time for Father’s Day too!

This card is so neat … and I love how the tie and shirt have matching hankies in the pocket! Too cool – the Designer Series Paper used here is the Windsor Knot papers which will retire on 31st August but suit this card so well.

Now with every good suite the jacket opens up as shown below and the shirt layer opens to reveal a white background for you to pop your message onto …..

Now dont forget the Last Chance List and those items that are discounted even more than before – also I’m still offering free post on all orders up till 31st August so get on the phone or shoot me an email with your order and how you wish to pay.

Top Note Medallions

Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator has brought many wonderful people into my life and some of these just happen to be other demonstrators.  I run an online forum for demonstrators from Australia and New Zealand called ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators)  and through this group I’ve met lots of wonderful ladies and also as we share our creations online with those demonstrators we find ourselves inpired and motivated by others.

One such card that inspired these cards today was created by Julia Leece – a demonstrator from New Zealand.

Here is my card in the lovely purple tones of Elegant Eggplant and Pale Plum

medalliontopnotet

I love these colours together and will be so sad to see Pale Plum retire next week – its been one of my favourites over the four years I’ve been a Demonstrator.

I loved this card so much that I decided to make a few in different colours ….

medalliontopnoteset

The other colour combinations I’ve used here are Baja Breeze/Basic Black and Pretty in Pink/Chocolate Chip – these make a lovely Stamp A Stack card and the girls enjoyed making them here the other week. This is another versatile card that would suite any occasion just by changing the sentiment.

Now dont forget there is just one week left to order anything from the current 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue and the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue as these books both finish on 31st August.

Now as a special offer to my lovely and loyal customers from now until 31st August anyone placing an order of $100 or more I will pay the shipping and handling!  So this gives you a little more spending money right? Dont forget to check out the Last Chance List and the Availability List here.

So go grab a cuppa and have a good look through both catalogues and get your orders to me – you can email me or ring me.

Truckload of Cards

Sorry for not posting the last couple of days … I got my birthday present early and have been playing with it and configuring it and trying to work out how to get it to do what I want it to do – what is ‘it’??  It’s an iPad!  I’m not as impressed as I thought I’d be but I’m slowly working it out.

If you remember I had my lovely friend Tanya come stay for a few days at the beginning of the month and one of the projects she brought kits for us (us being my lovely friend Lisa and myself) to make is this awesome 3d Truck complete with cards!

truck

How cool is this truck? and doesnt every girl need a pink truck? I think so!!  Looking at the above image I’m thinking we could even pop on some swirls or flourishes around the fender. Now that would be cool would it not?

Here are the lovely cards we made to pop inside ….

truckcards

They are like a gate fold. Now when I was making my cards I got a bit of a serve from the girls asking why I put the presents and pets in the back. Well when you move you have to take the pets right?? and there will also be all those housewarming presents you’ll need to pick up too!! Or maybe they are all the new stamps and accessories in the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue!!

Now if you didnt want to put cards in the back of the truck you’d be able to fit in some coffee/hot chocolate sachets, chocolates, gift card, small stamp set, ribbons, brads, glimmer paints, gorgeous new sizzlits dies or some of the lovely new textured impressions embossing folders! So much to choose from!!

Now you wont fit the new Idea Book & Catalogue in the back of that truck but you can arrange your own copy from me as I have received my order of 4 boxes!

You can get yours by ….

  • paying $10 plus postage. Now if you live close by and can pick it up or I can drop it off you wont have to pay the postage. Also, you will receive a rebate of $10 on your first order from the new catalogue of $100 or more.
  • book a workshop & get it for free – its that easy!

Now if you do happen to purchase yours from me and after reading the book decide you need a workshop to earn the awesome new products for free then I will give you a voucher valued at $10 to use at your workshop.

Contact me today to arrange your workshop and get your free catalogue!

Birthday Whimsy

Today is my sweet baby girl’s 11th birthday!  Hard to believe it was 11 years ago that Miss Emily came into the world – and in a hurry too I might add!! Just over 2 hours labour – eeeeek!  It all seems like yesterday – well ok maybe not yesterday but not that long ago!

Emily has always loved the Garden Whimsy stamp set so I went straight for that set to create her card.

fluttergrass-emily11

When I had the thought of those butterflies I thought them flying through the grass would be a nice effect and I thought what better stamp for grass than the one from Inspired by Nature.  I added a bit of sponging for the grass and added some sponged clouds using the scallop circle punch.

As I had a Stamp A Stack here yesterday I gave hubby the task of doing birthday shopping – brave I know!  He did quite well and just goes to prove he can buy birthday presents after all!

It was then my task last night to create the gift bag to fit the presents in.  I found a tutorial by the lovely Makeesha and just did some tweaking with the measurements to fit the presents in. So two sheets of Sweet Always Designer Series Paper and some ribbon later and we have a bag for the presents!

giftbagcardemily

I just stamped some more butterflies, cut them out and popped them on and whallah :)

I hope she has a wonderful day today as she’s going to bed early tonight after one of her friends slept over last night … well not sure they actually slept so maybe we should call it a giggle-over!!

Christmas Bauble

Whew!  What a busy few days its been!

I’ve had three days of Stamp A Stacks and talk about busy and on the go and I must say after yesterday morning’s trip along the M5 I am so grateful I dont have to drive in peak hour traffic every day!

Here’s a Christmas card made using the lovely Season of Joy stamp set and I am happy to let you know this set will be in the new Idea Book & Catalogue

maskedbauble

This is a very easy card to make and two of my Stamp A Stack classes made it and were very pleased with their creations. They were surprised at just how easy it was to make and that always makes me happy :)   Its great when someone sees a card and thinks its really hard and the look on their face when they have re-created it is something special. You may have seen this card featured on Libby’s blog on Sunday.

You may have noticed I have a new tab up the top - Last Chance List.  If you go to this page you will find a link to the Last Chance List and also a list of the products which are low in supply and also those that have already run out.  So please check there regularly so if there is anything running low and you ‘need’ it to contact me as soon as possible so you don’t miss out.

Manhatten Thanks

Today’s post will be a short and sweet as today I have the first of three days of Stamp A Stacks!

I love my job and to be able to share my passion for card making and ‘giving’ to others its just a bonus I earn an income from doing this!

One of today’s cards is a remake of one that I did a little while ago which is a case from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue and its one the girls will be making today.

simplety

Recipe:
Stamps: Occasional Quotes (new Level 3 Hostess set)
Paper: Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Accessories: Big Shot, Manhatten Flower Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot ribbon.

This card is so very easy to do and can be used to suit any occasion by simply changing the sentiment. How easy is that??

The sentiment comes from the new Occasional Quotes stamp set which is a new Level 3 Hostess set in the upcoming 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue. Email me today to ensure you have your copy pre-ordered!

Time to double check I’ve packed all I need in my Workshop Wheelie :)

Autumn Days for Christmas

It always seems odd to me that Christmas is associated with cold wintery scenes. Being in Australia its always very hot and humid at Christmas time – well for most parts of Australia it is. So its hard to imagine the Christmas by the fire with the snow falling outside – what I’d give for a little cool at Christmas time.

Now in saying all this it doesnt mean we dont share the Christmas Joy with our friends overseas where it is winter and snowing at Christmas and this is probably why “Christmas in July” is such a fun thing here in Australia and why some of my customers have asked for ‘Christmas in July’ Stamp A Stacks.

I splurged and purchased two new Christmas stamp sets the other week – not that they are new to Australia but just new to me ;) I am sure some of my customers are over the cards I did last year with Snow Swirled, Lovely as a Tree and Wish for Peace although I still do love those sets so you might see another one or three cards made with those over the upcoming months.

If you have been a long time visitor to my blog you will know that I love to make Christmas Cards using ‘non’ Christmas stamp sets.  This past weekend I’ve been playing with the Autumn Days stamp set from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue and made a couple of simple and very easy Christmas cards.

christmassinglecone

How nice is this?? and so easy to make and quick too!  I’ve just used the Pine Cone stamp from Autumn Days and stamped on the base card in Versarmark to give it the watermark look – you could even clear emboss the base card too to give it a little extra lift.

The main image is the same Pine cone stamp coloured with the Stampin Write markers then stamped onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. I’ve then stamped the Merry Christmas from Teeny Tiny Sentiments down the bottom and tied a ribbon around it – easy as!!

christmassingleconered

Do you like the second one??

The only difference is I’ve stamped the sentiment in green and tied the Red Taffeta Ribbon around the card. Now this bow has no tying! Yep no tying at all – this is so easy you’ll wonder why you hadnt thought of it before!

I got this idea from my lovely friend and downline Andrea Lowcock. You simply hold your ribbon in the bow shape, open a brad and have it so the prongs are going up and down then wrap the brad prongs around the ribbon. Adjust your bow before tightening the prongs. See …. easy!!!

These cards are just so so easy to make and would make a great Christmas card and you could do a bundle of these in just one night – even in front of the Television if you’re into multitasking!

Jingle all the Way

Well I’ve been up since 4.30am!!  This is what happens when you feel ill and go to bed at 9.30pm – well its what happens to me.

So I decided to utilise this lovely quiet time and make a couple of cards and continued on with the Christmas Theme from yesterday. Well the Christmas Classic set was still on my desk so why waste energy getting a new set out?

I remembered the pretty sketch challenge from Stamping 411 so decided to use that for my next card.

I do love to make cards from sketches as I find when I look at a sketch I can see so many cards with it whereas if I just go and pull out a stamp set to use I can deliberate for hours on colours, papers and layout.

You should give a sketch a try – use any of the ones I’ve done or just simply do a Google search on ‘sketch challenge’ and I’m sure you’ll be amazed at how many places have these challenges every week.

Here is my card ….

jinglebreeze

Recipe:

Stamps:  Christmas Classics, Baroque Motifs
Paper:  Baja Breeze, Ridinghood Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Ski Slope DSP
Inks:  Baja Breeze
Accessories:  Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write Marker, Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker, More Mustard Stampin’ Write Marker, 1/4″ Chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, eyelet border punch, stampin dimensionals, snail adhesive.

This is another very quick and easy card and a great one to make for christmas as you could do a few in no time at all!

Now I think I might take this aching body back to bed for a little nap and try and get over this flu.

Diva Sketchy Saturday #92

Its hard to believe that I’ve been doing these sketches now for 92 weeks – wow thats nearly 2 years! How time flies ….

This week’s sketch comes from you from the lovely Carol and my sponsors this week being Nespresso, Ease a Cold (cold & flu tablets) and the makers of Ibuprofen!

Yes I’ve come down with the dreaded flu and just when the kids are due to go back to school and I have a few bookings this week so I hope I am ok to do those and not have to reschedule any.

As soon as I saw this sketch I had a few ideas running thru my head – yes it got quite noisy in there!  Now those ideas were put on the back burner as I have a “Christmas in July” stamp a stack on Monday so thought I’d go with a Christmas theme today and had to use one of my new Christmas sets – Christmas Classics … well it is new to me!

Here is my card …

dsc92

This is a simple and ‘easy to put together’ Christmas Card with minimal colouring but colouring those baubles is so easy and they turn out so nice dont they?

I still have some of the gorgeous Ski Slope Designer Series Paper from last year’s Summer Mini Catalogue and I so so love these colours together. I should just have enough for Monday’s Stamp A Stack too.

I do hope you like my little card and now its time for you to skip along to the next Sketchy Saturday Diva being the lovely Ruthie B. So pop over to Ruthie’s blog to see what she has created.

Now if you get to a blog that hasnt got their challenge card up then you can view all those in the Sketch Design Team at the Utah Divas International Blog.

Butterfly Collage

As you are aware I run an online group for all Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators called ESAD (Extra Special Australian Demonstrators). We regularly run swaps for the members as these are great ways to get new or different ideas to your own.

This month we have a swap for a Technique Book which I’m a part of.  All the participants had to choose a technique different to the other participants and make up an instruction and sample page for each participant. So I had to make 12 instructions & samples for this swap and the technique I chose was Collage Stamping.

I love doing Collage Stamping as you can make it your own and create lovely effects and it gives the look of your very own designer series paper.  Now while I was making my samples the other day one of my daughter’s friends was staying over and she asked why I was putting butterflies on the patterned paper – I then explained what I was doing and that I’d stamped all the images on the cardstock myself.  She then exclaimed “Wow how cool!!”  Now this does boost one’s self esteem to no end!

Here is the sample I made for the swap ….

After deliberating for what seemed like days on what set and style to make I decided on this gorgeous “All a Flutter” stamp as the main focus and then popped in some flower stems, leaves and script.

I really do love the final sample and I do love that butterfly!

I’ve coloured my piece using the Stampin Pastels. I love the soft muted tones you can get with the Pastels and they also blend so well!  Now to ensure that the Pastels dont keep rubbing off I’ve given them a light spray with my hairspray.  This just helps to set and protect your artwork from rubbing off.  You dont need an expensive fixative – just the  cheapest hairspray does the trick.

Now as part of the swap we also had to make one card or project using our technique so I thought I’d use my sample and do one of the challenges from the Cards and Things Challenges Blog run by the lovely Krista Driessen.

Here’s my card …

collagecard-ctsc40

I love how this turned out and I’ve added another butterfly over the top of one to give it more dimension and make it that extra little bit special.

Recipe:
Stamps: All a Flutter, Organic Grace, En Francais
Paper: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Blush Blossom
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede, Mellow Moss, Versamark
Accessories: Big Shot, Scallop Circle Die, Circle Scissor Plus, Stampin’ Pastels, Sponge Daubers, Crimper

Here’s a close up of the layered butterfly …

Starting September I will be starting new Technique Classes so if you’d like to book your spot please email me today.
