Builder Sketch

Well hello and welcome to another Utah Diva Sketch Challenge albeit a little late.

Here is this week’s sketch ….

Diva Sketch Challenge 126

This week’s sketch really had me stumped for a while and I’d seen so many cards lately with the swirly plant image from the Sweet Summer Sale•A•Bration set that I wanted to use it before Sale•A•Bration is over!

This past week I received my Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue pre-order and I thought I’d sneak the two gorgeous Builder Wheels I got in my pre-order into this card.

That is one of the best things about being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is that not only do you get the catalogues one month before release but you can also place a pre-order from that catalogue so you have plenty of time to make lots of delish samples to show your blog readers and customers.

I will have lots of more samples to come over the upcoming weeks but for now here is today’s card …

Builder Bliss

Now after making the card I shared on Thursday I had to use my Itty Bitty Shapes Punches again and thought this time I’d team them up with the Bitty Buttons.  I saw this colour combination on Gretchen Barron’s site this past week and immediately fell in love so saved it for my memory bank so to speak.

From the photo you cant see the buttons so well but they really do make the card pop.

The strips I stamped with the Builder Wheels are Delight in Gladness in Melon Mambo and Butterfly Bliss in Peach Parfait. I just added some strips in Old Olive and Melon Mambo which I ran through the Crimper.

The more I look at this card I do like it more and more!

Now the next person in the Diva Sketch Challenge list is the lovely Ruthie B so be sure to pop by her blog and see what lovely creation she has made this week!

Fifth Avenue Lilies

The Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set has to be one of the favourites at the moment – I just love it and I love everything I’ve seen made with it.

TollLilliesBajaBlackI had some time to play the other day while my girls were at the School Holiday program at church. I pulled out the Fifth Avenue Floral set as I really havent used it much since getting it in April.

I saw this layout for a card somewhere in the last week or so (if its a case of yours please email me so I can link to you and give credit where credit is due!)

Its a lovely simple layout and makes such an elegant card.

The actual Lily is ‘paper toled’ in that there are three levels to the flower to give it more dimension. I’ve stamped it three times onto Whisper White using Basic Black Classic Ink and just lightly sponged the baja breeze ink using the sponge daubers (one of my recommended ‘must haves’) and layered the top two layers using stampin dimensionals.

The patterened paper is from the Baja Breeze Patterns Designer Series Papers which I’ve just used the eyelet border punch on. The Kiwi Kiss patterned paper is from the Urban Oasis Designer Series Papers.

I’ve used the black grosgrain ribbon and attached a button from the Button Bouquet Designer Buttons and the sentiment comes from the On Your Birthday stamp set which is a great set full of different birthday greetings.

As I was making this card I checked this week’s challenge on Stampin Up! Late Night Stampers yahoogroup which was to create a card in Black and Pink so I used this same design but using  just Pink and Black.

Here is my card for this challenge – as you can see its the same card in pink tones.

It makes a lovely elegant card in either colour dont you think?  I must say that I do think that a combination of any colour and black makes it a lovely elegant card.

Now we have a cyberstamp weekend for our ESAD group – thats our group for Extra Special Australian (Stmapin Up!) Demonstrators and we’ve had our first challenge set by the lovely Mel Sharp so I’m off to create a card for that and my Diva Sketch Challenge due on Saturday.

Have a great night and dont forget to make some time for YOU! If you dont know how to have fun with paper then give me a call and I’ll show you just how much fun it is!
