Easter Gift Class

With the new year (yeah I know we are now in March) I have decided to run more classes from my home – you can find all my upcoming events by clicking on my Demonstrator Website picture over on the right or by clicking on “Events” in the menu above.

Each month I’ll be holding two ‘gift’ classes – one will be themed (this month its Easter) and the other will be just a general Gift class where you will make a gift item.

The idea of these classes is that you will have a themed gift for a special day or holiday and the general gift class is so that by the time Christmas comes around you should have 9 or 10 gifts ready to go and therefore saving you a little stress at the peak of the ‘silly season’ or you can choose to use it for someone’s birthday or a ‘just because’ gift.

Should you not be able to attend  I will make available the instructions and kits for you to purchase.  However if you are local and just cant make it on the day let me know and I’ll schedule a 2nd class if I get the numbers.

Easter Gift Class

This class will be held at my house on 25th March at 10.30am and here is what we’ll be making ….

How cool would it be to not have to go and buy all those little gift bags and such that add so much money to what we spend at Easter.

In this class you’ll make

  • Treat Basket (two are shown here in the picture one using Sweet and Sour Specialty DSP and the other smaller one in Blueberry Crisp DSP)
  • Bronwen’s gorgeous little Egg basket
  • My little Lop Bunny Box

These are the two Treat Baskets I’ve made – you will be making the smaller one. Looks can be decieving as they hold so many eggs!  You will get instructions for both sizes to recreate at home

This is a gorgeous little egg basket designed by my lovely friend Bronwen Cornish who so graciously shared the project with me.  Yes I’ll teach you how to make those roses – they are divine and easy to do!

Last but not least  …..

This is my little Lop Bunny Box – isnt she just cute and she’s made using our punches! I thought the Lop was a nice alternative to the regular Easter Bunnies that are made this time of year.

Friends Gift Set

I was going back through some photo’s I had taken today and came across a set I’d made for the Secret Sister program on ESAD.

This set was made using the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper and the Friends never Fade stamp set.

This set consists of a Card, Gift box of Gift Cards and a box for some chocolates, toffees or other goodies.

The card …

I just love this card. The pear pizzazz layer is done using the flower decal from the Friends never Fade set and stamped in a diagonal pattern so it looks just like patterned paper – so easy to do :)

For the main image I coloured the flower with my Stampin Write markers and then stamped off on a scrap piece first and then onto the Vanilla piece. I then stamped the greeting from Occasional Greetings over the top of the flower in Early Espresso.

I adhered a single piece of white organza ribbon around the pear pizzazz layer and then used one of the ‘no tie’ bows which I attached using Glue Dots.

Gift Box  …

This sweet little box was made using the Scalloped Enveloped die and the Big Shot.

I’ve just wrapped a piece of Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper around the outside and used the Large Oval Punch to create the handles.

Then you just pop in chocolates, toffees or whatever and tie it up – easy!

The Box of Gift Cards …

The little box is created exactly the same way as the box for the chocolates – you just simply stick the flaps down.

I’ve then placed a punched out flower – remember when I made the card I stamped off first?  You punch out this image for this box – see no wastage :) How frugal am I??

Then I just made up four little gift cards – and used the papers from the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Papers and Images from Friends Never Fade and Occasional Quotes for the cards.

Contempo Gift Set

Just a few weeks ago I did a demonstration for a lovely lady who had asked for a Christmas theme to their workshop.  These were all new ladies to me so I wasnt sure of their stamping abilities so I knew I had to make it simple but effective.  So I went with Contempo Christmas, Jolly Holiday DSP and the Christmas Bauble punch – these just work so well together and make Christmas gift giving and cards so easy!

This is the set the girls made and they loved them both!

One of the greatest high’s I get from being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is when someone thinks there is no way they could make the project I have designed and yet they do make it and they are so proud of themselves!

contempobaubles This card is one of the easiest cards you can make and uses a couple of different Techniques.

Using your punches – we simply stamped the bauble once in cherry cobbler and then again in old olive and punched both of these images out.

Using your markers – markers are not just for colouring in – they have so many more uses! We took the Merry Christmas stamp from Contempo Christmas and coloured it using our cherry cobbler and old olive markers.  Once coloured you simply ‘huff’ on the stamp – the warmth from your breathe will remoisten the ink and you just stamp it on your piece of cardstock and wallah – instant coloured greeting!

Now onto the Box in a Bag ….

contempobaginabox I love making these bags!  They are just so pretty and so easy to do – you can find the tutorial here

To make this one I’ve used the lovely patterns from Jolly Holiday DSP and used my scallop border punch and my round tab punch to finish it off.  I’ve also popped on a tag made using the bauble stamp and punch.

To create the tag i’ve taken a long piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamped the bauble at the bottom. Once the image is stamped I have folded the piece of cardstock in half across the top of the bauble. You will need to use your scorer on this fold so its a nice clean crisp fold to ensure it will go into the bauble punch easily.

Slide you folded piece into your punch and have the fold just below the top of the punch area. Punch your image and you should end up with a folded tag – you can then write your greeting inside or just pop in to/from as I have done here.

The To/From stamp I’ve used is from the Punch Pals stamp set.

ESAD Christmas Blog Hop

Well can you believe its just 9 weeks till Christmas – yes thats just 63 days! Oh dear – I think I better do me some organising and lists!!

Now to help you with some gift ideas and gift wrapping and such a few of the girls from ESAD (Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators) have got together to showcase some ideas for you – how nice are we??

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin’ Up!®

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when its needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now it doesnt matter where you start the blog hop – you just keep going until you’ve visited all 15 blogs – if you’ve started here with me then just keep going until you get back to me!  I can assure you that you wont be disappointed as the girls are so talented and come up with the bestest ideas!

The first project I wanted to share with you today is this awesome organiser – now didnt I say earlier I needed to get some organising done? Its just as well I now have one of these!

How cute is that Santa jacket??

As soon as I saw this on Becky Roberts blog I had to make me one!  There’s a note pad there to make those lists we all need to make and the ribbon is latticed on the left side so you can slide in notes, photo”s,  gift cards and reminders. I’ve blinged the ribbon lattice with our new self adhesive diamontes.

The three images across the top are actually attached to magnets and I’ve covered a metal ruler with the red and white polka dot dsp so the magnets will stay on. I couldnt help myself – I had to add the Penguin!  They are my favouritest animal and I do have a small collection of them and yes one of my favourite places to visit is Phillip Island in Australia.

they are just too cute – and how wonderful is that new Extra Large Ornament Punch??  The one here has one of our new self adhesive diamontes in the centre.

Now not only do you need to get yourself organised for Christmas but you also need somehting to put all your lovely little gifts in so here is a selection of bags and boxes to give you a few ideas.  I will be scheduling a Boxes, Bags n Tags class next month so stay tuned for details on that.

Here we have …..

  • A Large Gift Bag which could be used for books, dvd’s, clear mount stamp sets,wood mount stamp sets, video games and lots of chocolates
  • Box in a Bag which could be used for ribbons, brads, embellishments, watch, jewellry, cup, candles and lots of chocolates
  • tall gift box (centre) could be used for pens, markers, smooch spritz, small punches, ribbons, brads, jewellry, pandora beads, pandora bracelet and lots of chocolates
  • Triangle Boxes (shown here in 3 sizes) can be used for jewellry, watches, gift cards, gift voucher, a la carte stamp, beads, pandora, locket, diamond ring and lots of chocolates

I hope that I have given you a few ideas for getting organised for Christmas and something to pop your pressies in. I’ve had a wonderful time creating these lovelies  to inspire and motivate you!

Secret Box of Blessings

You may remember last month I told you about the Secret Stampin’ Sister Swap that we have on our Demonstrator Group ESAD-SU.  The requirements are you send 2 cards and one small gift a month and then on the third month you receive a gift to the value of $30.

Well this is what I saw when I opened my Secret Sister Package for March.

How nice hey?? It even had a couple of butterflies in there for the girls and a note in the card to tell me to share the chocolates! Well I shared the eggs with the girls and hubby and I both had a picnic :)

You might see in the pack there was a little package with ribbons and daubers in it – in my Secret Sister’s note she also said that one can never have too many ribbons and extra daubers never go astray! Well this is so true – as crafters we all know that one can never have too many ribbons and if youre a sponger/shader like me those daubers get a good workout and I really do need to get some more!

Inside the box I also received a little pillow box with a gorgeous distressed flower on top.  How sweet is that little pillow box? and so simply decorated. It also had 3 little eggs inside. After seeing this I just had to order me the pillow box die!

Also inside the box was a little gift box with flowers and tags.

How sweet is this??

I love the little tags and I just love the flowers and the colours – I just love everything thing about this little gift and stamp sets. How did she know I love purple I wonder??

Now finally … the  card

How lovely is this card?? I love this set and the wheel and the colours and everything about this card. I am thinking that I might know my Secret Sister well as she seems to know everything I like!

I must say though that when I first saw the Very Vintage Stampin’ round I didnt realise it had a butterfly on it until I had actually stamped with it!

The stamp sets used in these items are Cottage Garden, Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage Stampin’ Round and Heard from the Heart.

Did you know that the Cottage Garden set is only available in Australia & New Zealand?? thats right its not in any of the catalogues in USA or Canada. How special is that???

Love Owl-ways

4x4minimagholderYesterday I showed you these very cute little Mini Magazine Holders I made.

I have scheduled a class for these on 25th February so if you’d like to come and make these beauties then please email or ring me to book your seat.

You will make the mini magazine holder and 4 little cards to go inside.

I’m including 3 of the cards here that you will make and they are all done using the “Love Owl-ways” set from the Summer Mini Catalogue.

These cards are all quick and easy to make and you’ll also learn how to watercolour using the ink from your inkpads and your aqua painter.  I promise you these cards are not hard at all.

What’s in the Box??

OOooooh … What’s in the box??

Well the box contains all the cards we will be making tomorrow at my eScape Card Crop – I have had a lovely time creating them and I know the ladies coming tomorrow will just love them!

So as not to spoil their surprise I wont show you the cards until after theirs are all done – sorry.

This page will highlight the different events I have happening or booked in. You will see all the things I have in my diary like …
