Window Flowers

Last week I did another recessed window class and decided to make a new card for it.recessedblooms

I thought the Hydrangeas in a vase from Bloomin with Beauty would be perfect framed and I couldnt go past the purple and green colour combination.

Recipe:
Stamps: Tres Chic, Bloomin with Beauty
Paper: Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Enchante DSP (2008 Idea Book & Catalogue)
Inks: Versamark, Pale Plum, Perfect Plum.
Accessories: Watercolour Wonder Crayons, Aqua Painter, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon, Bone Folder, Ruler, craft knife.

You may notice that the lighter ribbon is not quite ‘white’. I actually dyed it using the Pale Plum reinker. I just put some water – not a lot just a bit to soak into the ribbon – and then dropped some of the Pale Plum reinker into the water. I popped a length of ribbon in (about a metre) and made sure it was all wet and the colour even. I left it in probably 5 to 10 minutes then took it out and hung it up to dry. You can do this with any reinker colour and white grosgrain so now you know how to make any colour ribbon to coordinate with your projects.

Here is the opened card.

I’ve placed a panel over the ‘recessed’ part and on the right placed a piece of pale plum which can be written on and has the lovely poppy flower stamped in versamark on the right for continuation.

Hope you like this card and if you would like me to show you how to make this card then give me a call to arrange your demonstration today.

Thanks for stoppin by

Watercolour Bloom

I had such a wonderful day today!

I love Stampin’ Up! and love being a demonstrator! I have now been a demonstrator for just over 2 1/2 years and its only getting better! I love this job!!

I went to a friend’s house today to do a demonstration for her and shared some of the new products and colours starting tomorrow in the new 2009-2010 Idea Book & Catalogue – it seems we’ve been waiting for ever for this day to come and its just one more sleep!

Anyway Caz invited some her friends – most of which have now become my friends over the past 12 months or so doing demonstrations or workshops for them. These ladies are wonderful and just love to get together and make cards and such and I love spending time with them and getting to know them better.

Today I showed them a card using the Blooming with Beauty stamp set. This set was originally in the Spring Mini Catalogue and I am happy to say its been added to the new Idea Book & Catalogue. Why is this good? well I do love the set but I didnt actually ink it up at all while it was in the Spring Mini – ooooo I can hear all those shocked expressions!

When I pulled this set out yesterday I remembered the Mojo Monday Sketch 79 that I really liked the layout of and thought it would be great with this set.

So here’s the sketch – each Monday Julee puts up a new sketch and  I love the simplicity of them as they really do get your creative juices flowing.

I also wanted to use the new In Colours so immediately a blue flower came to mind and here is the card I came up with.pacificbloom

As I was colouring this flower my mum came to mind – her favourite colour is blue and she loves the old fashioned cottage flowers so since its her birthday tomorrow I might just have to make her some of these and pop them into a box for her present.

The ladies today loved the richness of the Pacific Point and I know I said I struggled with it before but it is growing on me and I do love it with Night of Navy and Bashful Blue as it is in this card.

I do hope the ladies enjoyed themselves today as I know I did! but then I DO love my job!!

If you would like some more information on becoming a demonstrator or the benefits to you should you become a demonstrator then please feel free to contact me – you can either ring or email me and my contact details can be found on my contact page.

Have a wonderful night and I’ll see you bright & early tomorrow with a brand new Idea Book & Catalogue!
