Stylish Blog Award

How special is this!

Last week I received this award from the loverly Tammy Fite – a fellow Utah Diva and Stampin Up Demonstrator from USA and then a few days ago I got the same award from the loverly Nikki Stalker – a long time stamping friend and fellow Aussie Stampin Up Demonstrator.

I am always humbled when I get these awards and especially when they come from fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators.

Now as part of this award I need to share 8 things about me and to pass this award onto 8 bloggers and let them know they too have been awarded with this very prestigious award.

So ……..

8 Things about me ….

  1. I am a Christian and think I’d be in a very dark place if I didnt have my faith.
  2. I love coffee (you didnt know that did you??)
  3. I love to Stamp (didnt know this either did you?)
  4. I have a Cichlid Fishtank – and my fav fish is ‘Jack’ my Frontosa who is 15cm long & 7cm high (6″ x 2 3/4″)
  5. I was born on my Aunt’s birthday and share my birthday also with my Brother in Law (the one who makes my storage units)
  6. I cant wait till Stampin’ Up! Convention in May

Owl of Happiness

Happy Sunday to you all!

I had my monthly Stamp A Stack here yesterday and I was very happy that the house was back in some form of order after last weekend’s reshuffle!  The ladies even noticed my loverly new cupboards!

Last month the girls asked for a card using the lovely new Owl Punch from Stampin’ Up!® so what’s a girl to do??

I love this punch and it is just so much fun to play with so therefore it shall now be known as “the Owl of Happiness”!!

Here’s the Owl card we made yesterday ….

HappinessOwl

Recipe:

Stamps: Woodgrain Background, Just Believe, Heard from the Heart
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze, River Rock, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Inks: Cajun Craze, River Rock, Early Espresso
Accessories: Two Step Owl Extra large punch, Little Leave Sizzlets, Big Shot, Crystal Effects

How cute is this card??

It’s also suitable to give to anyone for just about any occasion – just by changing the sentiment!

I’ve also found that when assembling your owly it is best to use the Tombox glue with the fine nozzle and a pair of tweezers.  I find that if you add Crystal Effects to Owly’s eyes and the heart and it just makes such a difference.

I just love this little punch and its rather versatile as you can create other items with it – not just owls!

This was the first time I’d actually inked up my Woodgrain Background Stamp – its one I received as part of an award from Stampin’ Up! at convention in May. It makes a great background and I can see it being used quite a bit in the future!

If you would like to make this card then contact me today to book in your free demonstration!

What an honour

I am always amazed at not only how many people visit my blog but those that tell me my blog inspires them!  What an absolute honour it is to know that some I admire also get inspired by my work.

Today I was visiting Bev Mantle’s blog and found that she had awarded me a “Fabulous Blog” award. To say that I was thrilled is an understatement especially with the other blogs she’s listed me with!

FabBlogAward

Now the rules for this award are simple and that I share 5 things I am addicted to and then pass the award onto 5 other lovely blogs.

So for my addictions here goes ….

  1. Stampin Up! (that surprised you didnt it??)
  2. Coffee
  3. Bejewelled Blitz on Facebook
  4. Latte’s
  5. Coffee

Now for the blogs – these are the blogs that inspire me the most. They may not be my closest friends but they do inspire me with their ideas and projects and they are not listed in any particular order.

Thanks so much to Bev for this wonderful award and the blessing of calling her friend!

Stampin’ Up!® Convention

Well what an awesome weekend it was in Canberra, Australia this past weekend. I think I’m still coming back down to earth!

This was the third Stampin’ Up!® Convention held in Australia and I’ve been to each one and I must say they just keep getting better and better! Stampin’ Up! is such a giving company and to have the founder of the Company make the trip here and be so gracious and happy to talk to anyone who wants to still amazes me – there arent many Company owners that would do that.

leonieshelliShelli Gardner is such an amazing woman and one so full of grace – much like those described in Proverbs and one who is not afraid to show her emotions whether she’s with one or two or four hundred. I have nothing but admiration for her.

Here I am with Shelli after the dinner and awards night.

It was an amazing night with a lot of women being awarded for their hard work and dedication. awardpins

I was very surprised to find that when I checked in on Friday morning that I was receiving not one but two awards!  How sweet is that!!

Here are the pins that I received when I checked in. The celebrate pin is just for those attending convention as this was the theme this year.

The 20K  pin is for those who sold between $20,000 and $30,000 – I was very close to getting the 30K pin but just could justify the extra spending to get there – besides there is always next year!

The Leadership pin is for having promotions in my first level of downline. This is the one I didnt realise I was getting and was very blessed to receive it. I do have a lovely team of girls and am blessed to also call them friends.

Another highlight of Convention was catching up with friends.  A couple of demo’s that have become close friends over the past 12 months are the gorgeous Nicki Tidbold and Stephanie Pike – and here we are after the awards night.stephleonienicki

Its with these two gorgeous ladies and Makeesha Byl that the ESAD-SU Demonstrator group was started and with all our members at convention I was totally blessed by all who came up to me to say hello. We also organised a brunch on the Sunday morning for the ESAD members and with some 40 crazy women stampers the staff at Tossolini’s in Canberra really do need to be congratulated – the food was lovely and the coffee even better!

If you have been thinking about joining Stampin’ Up! now is the perfect time. To celebrate Scrapbooking month Stampin’ Up! have brought out a Scrapping Starter Kit so you can join for just $150.00! How cool is that? to purchase your own business for just $150.00 and to run it when it suites you is pretty cool. Stampin’ Up! has given me the opportunity to work when it suites me and my family and allows me to be home when the kids get home from school. Something that is very important and also something that doesnt happen much these days.

Being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator means you can do as little or as much as you like and when you like. If you dont want to do demonstrations then that is fine – you can be a hobby demonstrator and buy for you and your friends if thats all you want to do. There are no penalties and no annual fees to pay each year.

The Scrapbooking Starter Kit contains the following:

Item Code Description Retail Value
112231 Schoolbook Serif Alphabet stamp set* $77.95
113059 Simply Scrappin’ Petal Party $36.95
108697 Earth Elements Assorted textured card stock (12″ x 12″) $21.95
105216 Pumpkin Pie Classic Stampin’ Pad $11.95
103179 Craft & Rubber Scissors $37.95

*Substitutable for any stamp set up to $77.95 value.

Please note: Each of the products listed above may be substituted for like items.  Please see the Scrapbooking Starter Kit Order Form for details.

The Scrapbooking Starter Kit also contains all the business supplies contained in the standard Starter Kit:

  • Getting Started DVD
  • Getting Started Guide
  • Guest Invitation Postcard (100)
  • Idea Book & Catalogue (8)
  • To My Hostess Envelope (10)
  • Project Sample Sheet
  • Recruit Brochures (20)
  • Hostess Brochure (20)

Heart Blog Award

I’ve been awarded another blog award by my lovely friend Libby from Libby’s Crafty Scraps – Libby and I met online quite a few years ago and have since become good friends and she is a great collector of Stampin’ Up! products and of course I’m more than happy to help her ‘collection’ along!blog_has_a_heart2

Thank you Libby for this gorgeous award and thank you too for supporting me both with my business and your friendship over the years.

Now to pass this award onto five blogs with heart …

  1. Makeesha Byl – this lady is so talented and amazes me with all the ideas she comes up with and I am blessed to call her friend
  2. Stephanie Pike – this lady is also very talented and knows just about every technique there is to know! I am also blessed to have her as a friend
  3. Patty Bennett – I love checking in on Patty to see what she’s been up to – she has awesome projects on her blog and always happy to share her ideas with others
  4. Andrea Lowcock – Andrea has fantastic ideas and there is always something new on her blog – except for when she’s holidaying in Queensland – she too loves Casting Crowns so she’s gotta be ok hey??
  5. Kerri Hunter – Kerri is a wonderful friend and stamper. We met through being in the same Stampin’ Up! team and it was worth it just to find this friendship! I love Kerri’s work and blessed to have her as one of my best friends.

Now girls you all have to pass it on to another five of your favourite blogs with heart ♥

Be sure to check out the blogs of the ladies I’ve nominated – you wont be sorry!

Dont forget to pop back later to see some collage cards I’ve made.

Another Award

Well after saying the other day I dont pass these awards on for ages I am now turning over a new leaf and sending this new award on the day I got it! Must be the new 2009 me ;)

blog-award-butterfly_thumb3The lovely Brenda Weaver who I met through Utah Diva’s International kindly awarded me this award and I’m very touched to receive it. I am very touched she regards my blog as a cool blog!

Utah Diva’s International is a group which was originally formed for the downline of Maxine Conrad and since then she opened it to other USA demonstrators and now its open to all demonstrators worldwide. I have met some awesome ladies who I now call friends through this group and we all encourage and support each other with our Stampin’ Up! businesses. They do swaps and send through tutorials and all sorts of things so if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and think you’d like to join then drop me a line and I’ll arrange a referral for you as this group is by invitation only.

I just love the butterfly on this award – she’s a bit funky hey??

Now I need to pass this award onto ten other bloggers so today I’m going to try and nominate those I didnt nominate yesterday … so here goes ….

  1. Jayne Mercer
  2. Angela Sargeant
  3. Marelle Taylor
  4. Tracey Eaton
  5. Dannies Designs
  6. Paula Goff
  7. Dianna Gibbs
  8. Dawn Griffiths
  9. Gretchen Barron
  10. Sharlene Meyer

Now why these blogs?

Well the first four are blogs of friends here in Australia who have been a big influence in my business and through Stampin Up! we have become better and closer friends.

Blogs five to eight are blogs I frequent alot and get inspiration and ideas from. They regularly have tutorials to share and their projects are amazing!

Gretchen is a fellow Utah Diva and has some great projects on her blog and she always inspires me with her work.

Sharlene is a demonstrator from New Zealand. Nikki Stalker recommended her blog to me and I am ever so thankful she did! Hopefully I’ll be able to meet Sharlene at Convention in May.

I hope you find some inspiration when you visit these blogs and dont forget to say hi to them as all bloggers love comments!

Have a great Satursinglelattesigday!

An Award … or three

I am really bad at accepting these awards and passing them on … after the initial shock of recieving them I think ‘yup I’ll do that & pass it on shortly’ then as usual one gets distracted with updating their blog, changing colours, stamping or that other thing called ‘real life’! So firstly my apologies for replying to those lovely ladies that have given me these awards and thank you soooo much for considering my blog worthy of such awards.

yoshida4a_as_blog_awardFor our first award we have the Sparkling Blogger Award from the lovely Stacey in Texas. Now this is a super special award as its one that Stacey created herself so I’m rather touched to receive this one!

Now she wanted me to pass on my favourite christmas or winter recipe but since we have our Christmas in Summer we normally have alot of cold meats and salads and our favourite is Caesar Salad with any type of meat. So not much in the way of recipes needed for those.

So thanks so much Stacey and hope you have a totally blessed 2009 and no more headaches or illness!

kreativ_blogger_awardI had this awarded to me yesterday by the very talented and very lovely Steph. I had also received this award from the very lovely Libby.

Libby is a wonderful friend and great promoter of my Stampin’ Up! business – not to mention a wonderful customer and forever friend. We’ve gone through a lot of trials during our friendship and always there for each other when needed.

lovely-blog-award

Libby has also sent me these other two awards  ….

It is always a huge thrill to have people read and leave comments on my blog let alone give me these awards and I love each and every one of them!

Now to pass these awards on – I should be passing them on to five blogs but since there is more than one award I’ll award them to my top 10 blogs I love to visit and get inspiration from – now these are in no particular order – I just love them all ….

  1. Makeesha Byl
  2. Beate Johns
  3. Patty Bennett
  4. Kerri Hunter
  5. Andrea Lowcock
  6. Andrea Walford
  7. Nicole Stalker
  8. Libby Dyson
  9. Stacey Aannestaad
  10. Stephanie Pike

Now I know youre not supposed to give them back but Libby, Stacey and Steph really do have awesome blogs and are very talented with what they do and all the ladies in that list are very special friends and its a blessing to know them and have them as my friends.

I did make a card today but I’ll save that for tomorrow’s post.

Go grab yourself a latte and put your feet up …. until next time.

Now its my turn to bestow this award on blogs that I love to visit and always find inspiration from … so many to choose from …. drum roll please …..

Kerri Hunter

Kerri is a great friend and her work is so inspiring

Pat’s work is also great and she produces the bi-monthly Technique Junkies newsletter which is worth every penny!

Jayne Mercer

Jayne is a lovely lady and a special friend – her work is inspiring and its no surprise she is published often

Tracey Eaton

Tracey is my lovely upline with Stampin Up and she regularly encourages me and she’s just got herself a new home on the web so check her out!

Creations by AR

I found Adela thru Beate’s yahoogroup and I must say she is such an inspiration and always ready to help and give tips where needed – she has some awesome projects on her blog and tutorials as well!

There are many blogs that inspire and motivate me and it would take forever to name them all so I’ve just chosen a few here to highlight.

I love to blog and I love to read other blogs too and have found that it is a lot of fun and it has also improved by Stampin’ Up! business and I feel through blogging I have grown and my work has improved as well. Its a great habit to get into to share your work and create more!

Spread the Love award

Wow … I cant believe it … Kelly (Sisterhood8 of the Blogging Stampers) has awarded me the “Spread the Love” award – what an honour!

spread the love award

I always see the various awards on other people’s sites but this is the very first time I’ve been awarded one and I’m very deeply touched to say the least!

This award is to spread blog love to others through support, comments and really all-around blog love. I love so many blogs and I do try to keep up with most of them but I have so many bookmarked now its hard to keep up! But what a great award to not only receive but to empart on other blogs of like-minded stampers!

So in the true spirit of Blog awards I would now like to ‘share the love’ and send this award to ……

  • Kerri Hunter – a fellow Aussie Stampin Up demonstrator and since join Stampin Up I have made many many new friends and some closer than others but share a strong friendship with Kerri (and its NOT cos she works for Mars Confectionery) – she is a special lady and a dear friend.
  • Beate Johns – she is one very awesomely talented lady! A Stampin Up demo from Florida and does a lot of work on splitcoaststampers and another good friend. I love everything she creates and when I grow up I want to stamp like her!
  • Sharon Davis – this lovely lady has the same upline as me and we have become good friends since joining Stampin Up! Her work is amazing and I dont know how she finds the time to do all she does with a full time job, Stampin Up and all those kids!!
  • Marelle Taylor – this ladies’ work is truly amazing and I just love visiting her blog to catch up with what she is up to and what she has been doing. She is so very talented and I am blessed to call her a friend too!
  • UDI Blog – now this is only a new blog but they have ladies that post daily here it originated from a group set up specifically for Stampin Up demonstrators to share, learn and encourage each other. The founder Maxine Conrad is a wonderful lady who has started all this up and I can see the blog becoming an awesome tool for creativity and inspiration. I am honoured to be one of the regular contributors and if you think you’d like to be a part of the demonstrator forum let me know and I’ll send you the details.

So girls enjoy the award and pass it on!!
