Sisters

Hello and I do hope youre having a great week!

Its a busy one here so I wanted to get this post in before I get stuck into the kits and demonstration preparations for the two demonstrations I have this weekend.

A few weeks back in my Technique Challenge over at Soul Scrappers I ran a challenge for the ladies to create their own Designer Papers using their stamps and inks. Sometimes we spend hours or even days looking for that perfect patterned paper for our layouts when we have all the tools we need to make our own original papers. This layout – yes I did do some scrapping – was inspired by the sample in our current Autumn-Winter mini catalogue and as my sister and I both love purple well I just had to change the colours!

Due to me creating this layout on a 12×12 piece of whisper white it became very hard to photograph so if you’d like a closer view just click on the photo and it will enlarge in a separate window for you. This photo was taken in December when we had the whole family together – and this only happens every 20 years or so – it takes us all that long to recover!  Just kidding – its hard to get everyone together these days as some of us have grown up children and we are all busy in what we do – it doesnt help that we are spread across three states of Australia.

Here is a close up of the layered flower on the main photo/layer.

I’ve just stamped the two sized flowers in different inks – Rich Razzleberry (love this colour!) and Pale Plum.  I’ve then layered them and popped a half pearl from the pretties kit in the centre.

You may notice the ribbon is also ‘gathered’ which is a neat trick using sticky strip and I’d be happy to show you if you’d like to know how.

I did add a couple of extra flowers to my layout and the sentiment as well which was done using Wonderful favourites.

Its funny how close you become to your sister when you move out of home and get married yet while you were in the same house you hated each other so there is hope for my girls yet!!

I do hope you like this layout. It is very plain but I think too that it is enough :)

Secret Box of Blessings

You may remember last month I told you about the Secret Stampin’ Sister Swap that we have on our Demonstrator Group ESAD-SU.  The requirements are you send 2 cards and one small gift a month and then on the third month you receive a gift to the value of $30.

Well this is what I saw when I opened my Secret Sister Package for March.

How nice hey?? It even had a couple of butterflies in there for the girls and a note in the card to tell me to share the chocolates! Well I shared the eggs with the girls and hubby and I both had a picnic :)

You might see in the pack there was a little package with ribbons and daubers in it – in my Secret Sister’s note she also said that one can never have too many ribbons and extra daubers never go astray! Well this is so true – as crafters we all know that one can never have too many ribbons and if youre a sponger/shader like me those daubers get a good workout and I really do need to get some more!

Inside the box I also received a little pillow box with a gorgeous distressed flower on top.  How sweet is that little pillow box? and so simply decorated. It also had 3 little eggs inside. After seeing this I just had to order me the pillow box die!

Also inside the box was a little gift box with flowers and tags.

How sweet is this??

I love the little tags and I just love the flowers and the colours – I just love everything thing about this little gift and stamp sets. How did she know I love purple I wonder??

Now finally … the  card

How lovely is this card?? I love this set and the wheel and the colours and everything about this card. I am thinking that I might know my Secret Sister well as she seems to know everything I like!

I must say though that when I first saw the Very Vintage Stampin’ round I didnt realise it had a butterfly on it until I had actually stamped with it!

The stamp sets used in these items are Cottage Garden, Vintage Vogue, Very Vintage Stampin’ Round and Heard from the Heart.

Did you know that the Cottage Garden set is only available in Australia & New Zealand?? thats right its not in any of the catalogues in USA or Canada. How special is that???

Thank you so much to my Secret Sister – hopefully she reads my blog – I feel very blessed to have you as my Secret Sister!

Introducing Phillipe …

Welcome to Saturday and another Utah Divas International Sketch.

I love this sketch!

It has so many opportunites!

I’m not sure what it is about sketches but they just get my creatives juices flowing. I’ve sat here during the week (staring at my new ink pad storage unit) trying to think of ideas to create with the new stamps I received – free stamps too!

Some of you may be unaware that while you can earn free stamps during Sale A Bration we too can earn free stamps as Demonstrators. You can earn sets for signing up new demonstrators and for the total amount of Sales you do during the Sale A Bration period. This year I earned 3 free stamp set which arrived on Thursday and I’m really looking forward to putting them together and creating some more this week.

Here is what I created for todays sketch

I’ve created this card using the new Autumn Days stamp set from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

I’ve had quite a few requests for Sympathy or Thinking of You cards of late so I thought this one would fit that category.

I dont have any of the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Papers but loved the colours they used to I just used the swatch in the catalogue to choose the colours of cardstock and inks to use. I also replicated one of the patterns of the papers in the DSP pack using my stamps and inks. This is the leaf strip on my card.

I also received my Soft Suede Cardstock and Ink this week and I must say I loved working with this colour this morning and I can see its going to be a new favourite and whats even better is that it wont be retiring come September! Gotta be happy about that!

I love all the elements of this stamp set with the wheat, grass, leaves, pine cones and of course Phillipe – the very splendid pheasant!

So now that I’ve introduced you to Phillipe its time to skip along to the next blog in the Utah Divas International Sketch Design Team being the very splendid Lori Ames blog to see what she’s created this week.

Clear Mount Stamps are here!

With the introduction of the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue you now have a new option for purchasing and storing your stamps.

You can still purchase them as you have always done with the wooden blocks or now you can purchase them in the new Clear Mount system.  Just so there is no confusion – the stamps are NOT clear.  As soon as you mention unmounted stamps people think clear and they arent.

The rubber part of the stamp is still the same as that for the wood mounted stamps but they’ve been put onto a foam cushion that has a cling backing on it and Stampin’ Up! have designed their own clear acrylic blocks. They are not the same as regular acrylic blocks as they are styled like a wood block with the grip part on the sides. They are very good quality blocks but you wouldnt expect anything esle from Stampin’ Up! would you??

They come in a lovely DVD style case and each one has a sleeve with an image of all the stamps on the front and a thumbnail picture of all the images along the spine!

Clear-Mount Rubber Stamp Features

  • Nine different sizes of clear blocks available individually or as a discounted bundle.
  • Blocks have ergonomic grooves on all four sides for easy grip and traditional wood-mount feel.
  • Stamps and blocks are durable and easy to clean with your Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist.
  • Optional image labels on stamp backs let you decide if you want to see the image through the block or not.
  • Tight die-cutting for easy image positioning.
  • Large clear blocks can be used to create collages or spell words with alphabet sets.
  • Stamps store easily in standard, DVD-type cases with artwork on front and spine, making organization easy.

Not only do they have all these wonderful features but they are cheaper to buy as well – this means you can get more for you money and with less storage space needed hubby wont know how much you’ve spent ;)

Please contact me today if you would like to see these stamps in action and I will show you a neat trick on how to put them altogether!

Perfect Purse … for a blog hop!

Well welcome to the second ESAD-SU Autumn-Winter Mini Blog Hop! I hope you enjoyed the first hop last week as much as I did!

What is ESAD-SU?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australasian (Australia and New Zealand) Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin’ Up!®.

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when its needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now you should have come here from Kristine Thompson’s blog but if you havent you can click on her name and start there as she was the first blog in the hop or you can just keep hopping to the next blog until you get back to me – either way its all good :)

Now you’d better go grab yourself a cuppa as you’ll be hopping for a while!

I have been admiring the Cottage Wall Designer Series Papers ever since they were released in USA/Canada and when I opened the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue for the first time and saw them in there my heart just about leapt out of my tshirt!

I wanted to make something a little special so I put on my thinking cap and came across these little Haute Tote’s on Creations with AR – Adela is a sweet lady from USA who I’ve come to know through Stampin Up!

Just how sweet are these bags???

I thought I’d make two to highlight the gorgeousness (yes that IS a word!) of these papers. All the papers used in these two projects are all from The Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper Pack.

The first set I’ll show you is the darker Razzleberry set.

The set includes a covered post-it notes block, covered mechanical pencil and a couple of very scrummy Wicked Scents melts – and how clever is Miss Kerri to make them in a colour to match the papers???

The bag was quite easy to make and I would love to have come make one at a class – I will have details of that class up soon.

The bag also has a little pocket inside – just like a real bag for popping in a gift voucher or gift card like the iTunes card shown here.

These bags make an awesome gift bag for a girl of any age and I’m sure the younger girls will love carrying it around and showing it off – bit like the bigger girls too!

Now on the front  you might see the little pocket on the handle.

It actually opens up to reveal a little ‘to and from’ tag

Makes an awesome little gift dont you think?? and for a lady of any age!

Now onto the other bag ….

This time I’ve gone for a set of cards inside the bag.

Since starting with Stampin’ Up! and doing classes I’ve found out that people love to give a gift of cards in a set and others also love to get them given to them as gifts.

This set has three cards with envelopes and the bag. This leaves room for some chocolates or something small – like maybe a gift voucher or gift card.

I’ve used the Cottage Garden stamp set to make these cards as it was designed to match the Cottage Wall Designer Series Papers. The set is extra special as its only in Australia and New Zealand markets right now – its not even in the upcoming Mini Catalogue being released in USA in May.  How special is that??

I love making these little 10×10 (cm) cards as they are quick and easy and great for making into sets like this and giving as gift cards.

You might see on the above photo a little tag hanging from the handle of the bag.

I’ve made a tag using the Large Oval Punch and the Scalloped Oval Punch and the sentiment ‘just for you’ from Teeny Tiny Sentiments which happens to be obscured by the beaded dangly I attached so I apologise for that.

I do hope you like these little bags and the gift sets I’ve made for today’s blog hop.

Now if you do make it around all 26 of the blogs and leave comments on all of them you are then in the running for some Blog Candy!  Yes we have blog candy!  There will be two winners – one from New Zealand and one from Australia. All you have to do is to visit and comment on each of the blogs in todays blog hop and then send an email to the lovely Sharlene Torres and advise that you have commented on all the blogs and give her your name, email and location.  Its that easy!  I will be donating one of my gift bags as the blog candy!

Now for you to continue on your journey you need to hop along to Linda Craven’s awesome blog – Linda is a dear friend and a very talented stamper and you will just love what she’s made – no I havent seen it but she always makes great stuff.

Have fun hopping around all the blogs today – and dont over-do it – we dont want you hurting anything! So look left and right and then left again before you leap! OK so I’ve had too much chocolate today ;)

It’s Here!!

It’s what we’ve all been waiting for now for a month and now we can share it with you and I am sure you will understand our excitement!

Its the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue!

just click on the catalogue above to view online

How beautiful is it??

In addition to the many exciting new stamp sets and accessories found in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue, I am very excited to introduce three new innovative products:

You are just going to love it all and the new product lines also open up a whole new world to add to your scrapbooking and cardmaking!

Now is a wonderful time to join STampin’ Up! because not only do you get such great value in your kit but you can now select stamp sets from the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue as part of your kit! How cool is that?? So if you would like to get more information on becoming a Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrator and joining my “Stamp A Latte” team then please feel free to email or ring me.  There is no obligation to join – I am just happy to answer any questions you might have.

Do you want to see and touch all the new products but dont want to join? That’s not a problem – I can bring the goodies to you so you and your friends can see them up close and personal. You can have a play and we will even make some projects for you and your friends to take home – just ring or email me to arrange your demonstration.

If you would like your very own copy of the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue please contact me and I will deliver or post one to you.

You may remember last week and the Technique Challenge I did for the Soul Scrappers forum well here is the second layout I created.

I’ve created this layout using Washington Apple Designer Series Paper and the cute little Fox and Friends stamp set which is now available in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue.

This set is so much fun to create with as those little critters are just so darned cute! I can see it being used for baby cards and gifts, birthdays, baby announcements and of course layouts remembering trips to Wildlife Parks and Zoo’s as I’ve done here.

Now that you can purchase this set in the regular wood mount (as we’ve always had) or you can now purchase it in Clear Mount which comes in a gorgeous DVD style cover for easy storage and now you’ll be able to fit so many more stamp sets in a small space so hubby will think you’re not spending as much – well I wont tell him if you don’t ;)

Now in celebration of the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue we’ve arranged a couple of blog hops again with the Extra Special Australian Demonstrators group and you can start by visiting Andrea Buckland’s blog. Now when you’ve done the blog hop and visited and commented on each blog you then need to email Sharlene to advise her your contact details just in case you happen to be the lucky winner of the blog candy!  Now dont fret that I’m not involved in the hop this time as we will have another on 7th April which I will have something very purty to share with you!

Sneaky Divas Sketch

Yes its Saturday and time for another Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge! So here’s the sketch and Carol has given us an extra challenge and that is to use the Pretties Kit … I do so love my Pretties Kit and I was worried there wouldnt be enough ‘left’ to use on the card!

Now you may also ask … why is it a sneaky sketch?

Wellllllllllllll … I’ve snuck in a sneak peek for the upcoming Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue which starts on 1st April.

I just looooove this set!

I have loved just about everything I’ve seen created with it in USA as they’ve had it for a few months now and when I saw it was in the upcoming Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue I just about had a heart infarction!  I was so so happy – even it was the only set in the mini then I would have been happy!

I am very happy to say that there are many more gorgeous stamps in the new Mini plus some awesome new products so get on the phone or shoot me an email to book your demonstration in during April and be one of the first to see and feel the gorgeous new stuff!

The set I’ve used is the Vintage Vogue stamp set and I’ve also used the Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel on the background.  The colours I’ve used are Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Creamy Caramel. I opted to put in the Pretties flowers in place of the vertical strip – hope Carol doesnt mind too much.

I do hope you like this card as I enjoyed making it so very much.

Now you can do the ‘Diva Skip’ and skip onto Lorie’s lovely blog and if you want to check the others out you can start at the Utah Divas International Blog.

Have a great ‘rest of the weekend’!
