Stampin’ Techniques 101 – Add a Ribbon

A new month already?  Must be time for another Stamping Techniques 101 Blog Hop!

StampTech101

I love these blog hops as they are designed for the new stamper to learn some quick and easy techniques to add to your stamping knowledge and know how.

Today’s technique is “Adding a ribbon”.

Now I know that this doesnt sound like a technique but it is a way to add to your cards.  Just by adding that bow or knot to a card can take it from nice to nooooice!

Here’s a couple to show you the difference it can make …

Here I’ve used the very lovely Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack and the Thinking of You comes from the Time of Year set which is a set available to Hostesses only.  While the card on the left is nice the one on the right, with the addition of the ribbon and bow,  is lovely and just that little bit special.

FearNot FearNotTwinebow

For these two I’ve again used the Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper Stack but this time I’ve stamped the verse from Isaiah (Rose Wonder Stamp Set) then cut it out and the layers with the Layered Squares Thinlits – this made this card super quick and easy.

Now I’d run out of the Burlap Ribbon I wanted to use so ’emulated’ it by using strands of Linen Thread and popped on a Linen Thread bow.  I think this one is my favourite as I love the look of the Linen thread, two patterned papers from the one pack and of course, the verse from Isaiah 41.

I do hope you’ve liked my cards today and I’ve shown you that by adding a ribbon or some twine and maybe a bow it steps a card up so much that anyone who receives the card will love it.

Now dont forget to pop around and see what all the other ladies have created this month – I’ve no doubt you’ll be amazed.

Your next stop is with Erna so enjoy your trip to the Netherlands and see what she’s created ..
