Rooted in Nature … Case

Do you ever get stuck for ideas?  Want to make something with a particular stamp set or paper but nothing is coming to mind?  Then maybe you need to Case something and the best place to start is our Annual Catalogue!

Here’s a card I’ve Cased using Rooted in Nature …

The Case for Casing

The word ‘Case’ has nothing to do with law in this instance but simply means “Copy and Share Everything”  It really is why we share projects – so people will want to copy what we have made and by doing so create something of their own to feel proud about and give to others.

I love to share my projects here on my blog and if they inspire you, or anyone else, to create something then that makes my heart happy.  It could be that my project is copied or it has inspired you to create something similar or it may just spark an idea of your own!  Either way, you are creating something with your heart and hands and that is a good thing!  When you give that created piece to someone you make a difference … to them … and to you!

Today’s card is cased from the card in the Annual Catalogue on page 144.

While I didnt have the background paper they used I replicated it by using the Hardwood Background stamp. I also added a Tranquil Tide Card base.  I also changed a couple of the colours and opted to use a Baker’s Twine Bow rather than the ruffled ribbon.

The Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies is a cool set.  Not only does it include dies to cut out your trees and images it also has dies that cut and emboss like the leaves on this card ..

The sentiment is the one stamp which I’ve cut up after stamping and adhered separately.  So with this sentiment you can use all three like I have or just one or two – the choice is yours.

Case Etiquette

So as you can see by Casing a Card you can change it up to make it your own.  Rarely do cased cards turn out exactly the same as the original.

One rule with casing is when you do case a card you give the creator you cased from credit.  It could be that they also cased it from elsewhere but you just need to cover yourself.
