Traditional Christmas

With Christmas less than 11 weeks away it is probably time to start pumping out some Christmas Cards.  Some love to get cards using new and non Traditional colours but I also have many friends and family who love the Traditional Christmas themes and colours.

Here’s my card for today …

Traditional Christmas with All is Bright Suite from Stampin' Up! by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

I’ve gone with the Traditional Christmas Colours of Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Gold.  The All is Bright Designer Series Paper was perfect for this card  – it even has they shiny Christmas Lights in the paper!

I embossed my sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder – it’s Christmas so it needs to be special right?

As I was layering my Spruce Banner on the card I thought it might look nice with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  I was right – but how cool does it look with a bit of sanding on that banner to give it more texture?

The layout for this card was inspired by the challenge over at the Fab Friday Challenge Blog

It was a fun and easy card to do.  I loved stepping it up with the sanded banner, glimmer paper branches and the Gold Embossed Sentiment.  Click on the sketch above and see the other wonderful creations.

Freshly Brewed Blog Hop …

The girls have made some wonderful projects for you again this week havent they?  Be sure to leave them a comment and let them know how much you love their project!

Lots of Happy Project Kit – Alternative Projects

I’ve got a couple of alternative projects to share with you too ….

Lots Of Happy Card Kit Projects by Leonie Schroder Indpendent Stampin' Up! demonstrator Australia

This sweet card was quick and easy with the help of the Window Box Thinlits.  I coloured one of the flower die cuts in the kit using the Watercolor Pencils.  Then fussy cut the two flower posies to separate them and make them two.  I also coloured two of the single flowers.

Using the Big Shot and the WIndow Box Thinlits I cut out the striped piece and layered that onto Vanilla Cardstock to make it resemble a garden box.  This was layered onto my 4×4 card base with dimensionals.  I positioned my flower posies and popped them on with Dimensionals as well.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set and it was punched out with the Classic Label punch and affixed to my card with Glue Dots.  The little bow just sets it off perfectly!

Next project I used the Big Shot to cut out the pieces to make the Window Box in Sahara Sand.  Using the printed panel for the Hexagon Card I cut it to the size of the box and popped it on top after colouring and blending the flowers.
Lots Of Happy Card Kit Projects by Leonie Schroder Indpendent Stampin' Up! demonstrator Australia

It makes a wonderful little gift box that can be used for many different things!  It would be a great disguise for giving a Gift Card and you could fill it up with sweets, chocolates or just tissue paper.  If you are one that give jewellry or smaller, thoughtful gifts it would also be the perfect box for that!

I’m thinking I might give it to my friends’ Son and Partner with some little booties inside for their brand new baby!

I am thinking that I may just make this a weekly feature as I had a lot of fun and it was a great way to finish off the week!

Petal Palette Notecards for World Card Making Day

Good Afternoon!  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Well it’s the official World Card Making Day and I have a couple of Petal Palette Notecards to share with you today ..

Petal Palette Cards for World Card Making Day by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

This past week I’ve been doing extra Facebook Live sessions on my Stamp A Latte Facebook Page in celebration of World Card Making Day.  I’ve been sharing projects using some of the products discounted in our World Card Making Day Sale!

The Petal Palette Stamp Set is such a sweet set to have in your supply.  Now it does have a coordinating Framelits set but when you watch the Facebook Live video you will see you don’t ‘need’ them to use this Stamp Set but they do add to the Stamps if you can afford them.

Check out the video here …

Petal Palette Notecards

Here’s the first card I made …

Petal Palette Cards for World Card Making Day by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator AustraliaI love that little bird! He’s so sweet.

I stamped the leaves on the base card first in Soft Sea Foam using my oval piece (upsidedown) as a guide.  After applying snail adhesive to the back of my oval I popped the Rose Metallic Thread behind and popped it on my card.  Did you notice I stamped the sentiment on that oval ‘after’ applying dimensionals and putting it on my card?  It was easy to fix the parts that didn’t stamp due to the dimensionals with a Stampin’ Write marker.

My bird was stamped in Soft Suede and I then used a Blender Pen to drag some of the ink colour in to give him a little more dimension and character.

Petal Palette Cards for World Card Making Day by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator AustraliaI also added Wink of Stella to the little Pool Party heart for a little glimmer.

My second card is this sweet one with the roses ..

Petal Palette Cards for World Card Making Day by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator AustraliaI used my Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover Stampin’ Write Markers to colour my stamp and then stamped onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. The Blender Pen was used again to pull the ink and colour the flower.

I thought the card base was a little plain so I stamped the rose in the Soft Sea Foam on the card base then popped the Oval over the top with Dimensionals. The Clear Wink of Stella over the roses and added some rhinestones for some shimmer & bling.

Did you see how I applied those Rhinestones?  After a tip from my sweet friend Jamie from Getting Crafty I used the Take Your Pick Tool with the putty end and lifted the Rhinestones with the Tool and easily placed them with it too!  Be sure to check the video to see how easy this is!

As you can see it’s quite quick and easy to create sweet cards with this set!  I love all the different sentiments in the set so just have this set you’d be good for just about any occasion you need a card for.

Notes of Kindness Project Kit

Good Morning!  Today I have for you some sweet projects made quickly and easily with the Notes of Kindness Project Kit

Notes of Kindess Alternate Projects from Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

These two cards were lots of fun and super easy to make using the Notes of Kindness Project Kit.  I did use sentiments from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set for these cards as I wanted a different sentiment to the ‘thank you’ theme of the set.

Notes of Kindness

Notes of Kindness Project Kit - purchase from Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

The Notes of Kindness Project Kit is a great kit that comes with everything you need to make 20 sweet cards.  There’s enough supplies to make 5 of each of the 4 designs above.

The Notes of Kindness Project Kit Includes:
* Set of 6 photopolymer stamps
* Clear stamp block
* 20 printed card bases and coordinating printed envelopes
* Giftable kraft box
* Die-cut stickers and accents
* Archival Basic Black Ink Stampin’ Spot
* Baker’s Twine
* Stampin’ Dimensionals
* Adhesive-backed pearls

You will need are a pair of Paper Snips and either some Multipurpose Glue or a Snail Adhesive in addition to your kit.

Notes of Kindness Card ideas …

Here are my cards in detail ..

Notes of Kindess Alternate Projects from Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

I love how easy Stampin’ Up! make their card kits!

The label and the succulent are die cuts you simply press out of the sheet. I did add some stamped leaves on the card base to give it a little more depth.  The leaves were stamped in Soft Sea Foam.  The label I stamped the background strip in Petal Pink then the sentiment in Blackberry Bliss.

I’ve also added some Rose Metallic Thread, Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon and the pearls to add some elegance to the card.

Notes of Kindess Alternate Projects from Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

I popped my banner onto my card using dimensionals.  Now as the back of the banner is covered in adhesive I patted the back with my embossing buddy to remove the adhesive after applying my Dimensionals.  This means the banner will stay layered with dimensionals and not stick down flat where it’s not supposed to.

I’ve used the Gold Twine from the kit behind my flower and added some pearls.  The little hello is stamped on the label and I’ve snipped one side to create the flag type edge.

Do you love this kit? Did you know it’s on sale this week with the World Card Making Day specials?  It would make an awesome Christmas Gift – either made up or for the recipient to make up!  No reason you cant start your Christmas Shopping now – after all its only 12 weeks away!

Techniques to Try – Die Cut Masking

Good Morning and welcome to another Stamping Techniques to Try International Blog Hop!  This month we are sharing the Die Cut Masking Technique.

Staming Techniques to Try with Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

Die Cut Masking Technique

Now, I will admit, that when I first chose this technique I’d never seen it done but it is quite easy and quite fun to do!

If you are a facebook user you’ve no doubt seen the video going around about using sparklers and cut outs to create a home décor piece.  Now if I was to try that here I’d probably set the house alight!  It’s this idea that I’ve base my card today on.

Dashing Deer Diecut Masking - Stamping Techniques to Try with Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

I’ve used the deers from the Dashing Deer Framelits and the Winter Woods Stamp set to create my card.

Click here to download your Diecut Masking Tutorial

It’s lots of fun and I think you’d like it! Give it a go and share with me what you created.

Here’s another card we made using the same technique at my Technique Club Class ..

Ribbon of Courage - Diecut Masking for Stamping Techniques to Try by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

This card uses the lovely Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set that was designed by my lovely friend Patty Bennett in celebration of her $1 Million Sales Award.

It was created with a sweet friend in mind who has recently had a double Mastectomy after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer for the third time.  My prayer is that the surgeon’s got all that cancer and she will have a complete & full recovery.

I do hope you like what the Stamping Techniques to Try Design Team have created for you today. Please be sure you leave them some comment love to let them know you visited.

Salted Water Colour Trees

Good Afternoon!  Today I have my Salted Water Colour Trees card for you

Salted Water Colour

Today’s card uses the gorgeous new Rooted in Nature Stamp Set.  This was a fun and easy techique I taught recently at my Technique Club Class I run on a Wednesday.

We first created our background.  Using Watercolour Paper we did and Water Colour Wash using Blueberry Bushel.  Can you see the pink and purple tones in the background?  I love how this gorgeous blue can result in the other hues as well!

Salted Water Colour Background steps …

  1. Cut your Water Colour Paper to size and prepare your piece by painting water over the piece with your Aqua Painter to wet it.
  2. Using your Aqua Painter pick up some Blueberry Bushel ink.  I found placing a couple of drops from an Ink Refill in a plastic lid made it easier to pick up.  Paint all over your Water Colour Paper piece.  Add more water if required to get the different hues.
  3. Sprinkle Salt on your card while wet. Experiment with different types of salt.  I used Rock Salt and ground Rock Salt.
  4. Leave Paper to dry or dry with your Heat Tool.  Brush off salt when dry.
  5. Stamp Images as required and assemble card.  Ensure your paper is completely dry if stamping with Classic Ink.

This is a fun technique and it’s cool to watch the background react to the Salt.  You can see it’s result from the spots on the background.

My images are stamped in Night of Navy.  Remember, your water colour paper needs to be completely dry before before Stamping.

Make sure you pop back tomorrow for all the details and specials for World Card Making Day (week)!

Thanks for stopping by and see you latte …
