    share a little love

Well with just one week till Valentines I thought I’d make this little gift set to share with you – how make sure you send a link to this post to your spouse, partner, or boyfriend to remind them!

    valentine set

This little set of goodies are very easy to make and could be made in a 2 hour class so contact me quickly if you’d like to make this set in time for Valentine’s Day – or if you would like to purchase a kit to make these then email me for details today!

valentine clip calendarI’ve used papers from the “Loves Me” Designer Series Paper pack – well there was nothing better for Valentine’s day! The set consists of a Coaster Gift Box, ‘Gluggie’ (Sour Cream Container) and a Clip stand Calender which I adapted from several I saw on Split Coast Stampers. You can find the tutorials for the gift box and sour cream container at Split Coast Stampers Projects page.

    Supplies I used:

Stamp set: Lots of Thoughts (Sale-a-bration set), Wonderful Words
Paper: Loves Me Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip cardstock
Accessories: Coasters, On-board Chipboard, ribbon, silver cord, Pretty in Pink Brads, scissors, scalloped circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, Crop-a-dile, sticky strip, Crystal Effects, Paper Piercing Mat, Anywhere Glue Stick, Large Paper Clip, paper trimmer, sanding block and pencil

    valentine gluggie

Now remember I called the ‘sour cream container’ a ‘Gluggie‘??

Well I’ll tell you why …. when I went to school (now we are talking just a few years here … well maybe a couple more than that!) we had these frozen ice blocks in containers that exact shape and they were called Glugs (cola flavour), Razz (Raspberry flavour) and Sunny Boys (orange flavour). These were the things I bought the most from the canteen at school – well from what I can remember anyways – surely you remember these too?

Little does my hubby know that this is his Valentine gift … tho I might change the bear for some chocolates & coffee beans! I suppose I’ll find out now if he reads my posts or not!

Have a great day and dont forget to take some time out for YOU!!

    LoveHearts4x4

No No I’m not talking about a plank of wood but small and addictive little cards!Friends4x4

They are quick to make and you can get 3 out of an A4 sheet or 4 out of a 12×12 sheet of cardstock.

These ones here are all using stamps or papers from the Summer Mini Catalogue. They can be cute and quirky (yes its a word) like these two cards using the Love Matters set.

    4x4lovedots

Here is one just using one greeting stamp from Love Matters and using the printed paper from the Loves Me Designer Series Paper pack.

I also used the Carte Postale and a couple of offcuts from the Enchante Designer Series paper pack to make these two elegant cards. It doesnt matter what you do with the Carte Postale set – they all turn out elegant!

I originally wasnt going to buy this set but then I saw so many nice things with it and there are 11 stamps in the set so it works out to be very good value how could one say no??

I hope you like these little cards and I am considering having a monthly card kit for sale each month and no doubt you will see a few of these cards in those packs – email me for more details for signing up for these card kits.

    Criss Cross Card

Plum Criss CrossI have admired these cards since I saw the first one on SplitCoast Stampers and I followed the tutorial by the very talented Beate Johns!

This was the first one I made and I do like how it turned out – if I do say so myself!

There was talk on one of my yahoogroups I’m on about making cards and then not wanting to part with them and I must say this one falls into that category!Criss Cross showing Insert

I just love the colours in the Enchante Designer Series Paper pack which is available from our Summer Mini – but only until 31st March. I have also used a couple of other products from the summer mini being Very Vanilla wide grosgrain ribbon, French Flair Background and Carte Postale.

The birthday sentiments are from the “It’s your Birthday” stamp set. I have also popped a glue dot into the centre of the flower and then pressed that into the Dazzling Diamonds to give it a bit of bling.

This one was made for my friend Karen who has her 40th birthday on Saturday and I as said before I am having trouble parting with it and I know Karen’s favourite colours are reds and burgundy so I made another!

Burgundy Criss CrossThis time using the Recollections papers form the Idea Book and Catalogue.

I did use the French Flair background again – love the swirls on this stamp! I again used the Carte Postale set again for the flowers and leaves embellishments. Also, had to add some dazzling diamonds for the bling – I do hope she will like her card.

These cards are very easy to make to so if your interested in learning how contact me to arrange a workshop or class.

    Baroque Birthday

I did also make another card using the Baroque Motifs set. I received this set as a gift from a friend in USA and have really been wanting to play with it and thought this was the perfect opportunity and made acherishflapfoldbluegreen flap fold card with it in Old Olive, Night of Navy and Bordering Blue.

I think these colours go so nicely together – especially for a man. Even my hubby said he’d like it as a card for him so its gotta be ok!

The flap is held closed by sliding the corner in under the flower accent.

    flapfoldopenshowingflap
It then opens up and to see the full message inside you need to just lift the flap.

I’ve stamped the flourish in Versamark on Old Olive Cardstock and used the word window punch to create the tabs at the side and affixed them with brads. Cherish is stamped in Night of Navy over the image.

I dont usually use card inserts but I did with this one. I again used the flourish stamp and Sahara Sand ink and stamped off the side and the corners. I used a stamp from Love Matters in Old Olive for the top greeting on the insert and the “Happy Birthday” is from the “It’s your Birthday” stamp set and again is stamped in Old Olive.flapfoldallopen

You can see here how the card looks when its totally opened. I am quite happy with how it has turned out and a bit sad we dont have this set in our Catalogue so I can share this with my customers.

I hope that Matt will like whatever card his wife chooses to give him and I pray he has a great day and a totally blessed 40th year!

I did make another of these cards … actually this one was my first attempt and the blue/olive was my ‘refined’ second card.

    pumpkin baroque

I made this one for a a friend and I do hope she will like it when I eventually part with it and post it off with her gift.

    Happy 40th to Matt

A friend asked me to make a card for her husband’s 40th birthday – I happily said I would and then later I thought …. ohhhhh a masculine card? I so struggle with male/masculine cards so I’m wondering if these fit the bill?

MonAmie Now I did say I struggle with male cards didnt I?? Another friend of ours was pouring through the Summer Mini catalogue when she came across the Carte Postale set and suggested I use that – its a great set of 11 stamps (yes 11) and can be used for all occassions.

I decided to check out the gallery at SCS and managed to find a few to case. As you know when you case a card it never turns out the same as you always add your own little touch but its a great website to get your creative juices flowing.

This is a plain and simple one using the Carte Postale set and my new linen background. I think it turned out to be quite an elegant card – maybe not a ‘man card’. I used Sahara Sand, Vintage Violet and Basic Black Cardstock. I stamped the images in Versamark and Vintage Violet. simpledamask

This second one is using the CartePostale set again and using some of the patterned papers from the Enchante Designer Series Papers (love that paper!) I love this combo of green and purple and it only needs an embellishment and maybe some ribbon to make it a feminine card.

This one was very simple and enables the sender of the card give it for any occassion.

    masculinemonogramwflower

Now this last one has to be my favourite!

Now I’m not sure if you can see it – but on the main image I have first stamped in Sahara Sand after stamping off first and then stamped over in Vintage Violet. I did this to give like an embossed or drop shadow effect -maybe the smaller close up of the image shows this a little better?

    masculinemonogramwflowershowingshadow

I have used the green paper from the Enchante Designer Series Pack again with Basic Black, Whisper White, Vintage Violet and Mellow Moss Cardstock. I have cut the flower out and lifted it with Stampin’ Dimensionalsâ„¢ and layered it on whisper white and basic black – I used the Marvy Scalloped Circle punch here as well.

I think I’m going to have to make another as I really like it and dont want to part with it! I think its ok to give a man – dont you?

    Card Keeper Tin

This is what I made for my sister for Christmas.

    CardTin4Jo

She had seen my tin that i kept my cards in when I was visiting her in October and asked for one for Christmas.

I covered with the papers from Enchante Designer Series Paper pack from the Summer Mini Catalogue and i just love the perfect plum, mellow moss, pale plum and chocolate chip all together. I also used the wide chocolate chip grosgrain also from the Summer Mini and the standard brown grosgrain.

I used the Simon Lower chipboard letters to do the ‘Jo’ which i covered in the green leafy paper and then covered that in Crystal Effects and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds all over … makes a very feminine tin with a bit of Bling added. I also made 6 dividers for inside her tin for her different types of cards.

I find it is so much nicer to make gifts for people rather than going out and buying one – they know that you have put more effort into their gift than just buying something from a shop to wrap – it also means their gift is unique and no one else will have one like it!

If you would like to make one of these tins I am more than happy to come and do a class with you and some of your friends – email me for more details.

    Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers

    SBS 8 badge brown

My good friend Kerri told me about this Sisterhood 8 of the Blogging Stampers so of course I had to join!

The Sisterhood of the Blogging Stampers is a group of like-minded stampers who encourage and support each other in their craft, business and blogging and will participate in swaps, challenges and raks. I know its going to be a lot of fun and one cant have enough stamping friends can they? just like one can never have enough stamps!

I am now meant to introduce myself so I’ll just put a short blurb here and you can read more about me on my ‘Introducing Leonie’ page.

I am Leonie and I have been stamping for over 8 years and scrapping for just a couple of years or so. I love to create cards and give them as raks or send them as a note of encouragement to anyone who needs it – and who doesn’t want an unexpected card in their letterbox to encourage and acknowledge them as a special person? I also love to create and decorate off the page items to give as gifts or little pick me ups!

I joined Stampin’ Up!® in August 2006 and i have loved every moment and every time i think I have all the stamps I need they go and bring out more! They continually surprise me with their freshness and new products and their product and business standards are so high they never cease to amaze me with their quality and service. I have no doubts in recommending anyone to use their products or to start demonstrating as its just so much fun and meet and make so many new friends – not just locally but world wide!

I look forward to getting to know my new ‘sisters’ and sharing and encouraging them in our creative journeys.

    Stem Silhouettes

I broke loose the other day and decided to spend some time creating something ‘not’ Christmas!

    Olive Stems

This is what I came up with and I must say I am really happy with how it turned out!

The Vintage Violet and Old Olive (my new favourite green) go so nicely together don’t you think? I then added in some bashful blue, night of Navy and Creamy Caramel. I even managed to use my Cuttlebug (who really feels rather neglected!)

I used the Stem Silhouettes set which is in the new Summer Mini Catalogue and the French Script.

Considering its less than a week till Christmas I should really write in some Christmas cards and get them in the post – have a great day!

    A Pocket full o’ Christmas

I did my last demonstration the other week and wanted to make it a bit special and the hostess had asked for a Christmas card so I ventured into Splitcoast Stampers resources to have a browse for some ideas and came across Beate’s Pocket Card

Holiday Thyme Pocket Card You can see the glitter on the tree if you look closely.

I was a little worried that the ladies wouldn’t like the card but they all loved it – even my hostesses 83 year old mum! We all had a good time talking and chatting and sharing stories that we didn’t realise how late we went – my poor hubby rang and asked what to do for dinner and it was 7.30pm and i thought it was about 5pm! So yes time flies when your having fun!

I followed the tutorial that Beate wrote I just adjusted the sizing a bit so I could get 3 cards from a 12×12 sheet. I used paper from the Holiday Thyme Designer Series Pack which is only available till tomorrow so if you want some you better be quick! The stamps I used are from Riveting (Hostess set), Lovely as a Tree and Wishing You (Spring Mini). I also used the round tab punch and the circle punches. Christmas Pocket from Sharon

I went to a Christmas Dinner with my up-line and some of our team and I got one of these lovely pocket cards from the lovely Sharon Davis

Sharon used the very cute Festive Favourites and Snow Flurries sets and paper from the Four Seasons Designer Series Paper. She’s even added some dazzling diamonds for the snow – I just love these snowmen – so cute!

Thanks Sharon for the lovely card – we sure did have a good time last night and the food was great – shame the staff wanted to go home!!
