Something Borrowed, Something Blue

What a hectic week its been!

Last Saturday we ventured down the hill (Mt Ousley) and travelled to lovely Kiama for the wedding of friends James & Emma.  It was a beautiful wedding although a wee bit chilly once the sun moved away from our spot!

Here is the Wedding Card I made for the lovely couple …

I used the title Something Borrowed, Something Blue for this post as I ‘borrowed’ my design of the previous wedding card although after sealing the envelope realised I’d forgotten to slice the embossed layer and the ‘Something Blue’ for the greeting and ribbon. I’d made the invitations, wedding favours and place cards for Emma so I knew ‘blue’ would fit right in!

I love making this card – its so easy and turns out so elegant dont you think??

Paper Party …

Dont forget the Paper Party is happening all through May and this is how we celebrate …

  • Buy 3 packs of Designer Series Paper and get one free!
  • Join my Team with the new Starter Kit and receive a free pack of Designer Series Paper every month for the rest of the Year!

Come and celebrate with me!!

Tulip Season

There is one thing I love about the colder wintery weather and thats the blooming of all the bulb flowers – and the one I love the most is the Tulips!  They are my favourite flower and it also helps that I’m of Dutch heritage as well – but please dont ask me to speak it!

Here is a card I made recently which has been a huge hit with my Stamp A Stack ladies …

Birthday Tulips

Recipe
Stamps: Bright Blossoms, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Inks: Concord Crush, Old Olive
Paper: Concord Crush, Whisper White
Accessories: Concord Crush Stampin’ Write Marker, Old Olive Stampin’ Write marker, Stampin Dimensionals

I just love this card and its so so queasy!!

Bright Blossoms is a cute little Stamp Set in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue and so fun to play with and what a bargain – where else can you get 8 stamps for under $30??

Now there is still time to get Mum something for Mother’s Day without having to face the crowds at the shops!!  You could get her this gorgeous set or try these great gift ideas from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue for under $50 ….

  • Bright Blossoms & Notecards (20)
  • Loving Thoughts Stamp Set
  • Framelits Labels Collection
  • Rue Des Fleur Stamp Set
  • Tea Shoppe Stamp Set
  • Edgelits Dies and Adorning Accents Embossing Folders

Or why not grab her a Simply Sent Kit and matching Stamp Sets (pp 136-137 Idea Book & Catalogue) for under $50??

Simply Sent Great Day

These sets are great as you can mix n match the Simply Sent Stamps with the kits and the kits come with 8 cards and envelopes, gift tags/adhesive die cuts and a couple of them include ribbons and buttons or pearls.  So enough supplies to make 8 lovely cards!

What a great gift idea!!

Cant decide?? then contact me to arrange a Gift Certificate and then Mum can do her own shopping!

White (Shimmery) Wedding

I often get asked if I sell my cards or kits and the quick answer to that question is Yes!!

The other week my sister asked for a Wedding Card and this is what I created …

Recipe
Stamps: Curly Cute
Paper: Shimmery White Cardstock
Ink:  Bashful Blue
Accessories: Paper Daisies, Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper, Adorning Accents Edgelits, White Shimmer Paint, Aqua Painters, Antique Brads, White Taffeta Ribbon

I love how this card turned out and the ‘all white’ tones.

The card and embossed layer was done in the gorgeous Shimmery White Cardstock and I simply painted the White Shimmer Paint with the Aqua Painters onto the Paper daisies and layered then secured with an Antique Brad. It’s all finished off with the lovely White Taffeta Ribbon for a very quick and easy card.  The Scalloped edge on the embossed layer was done with the new Adorning Accents Edgelits.

If you ever see anything here on my blog or on my Facebook page that you’d either like a kit for or made for you please feel free to contact me.

Even if you see something elsewhere and would like a kit or one made send me the link and I will do what I can to help. I also make customised or items to order so if ever you need anything please let me know – I’ve done Christmas Cards, Party Invitations, Wedding Invitations & packages, and albums. I’m currently working on a little Baby Record Album and a Recipe stand.

Birthday Foliage

As I said last month I’ll be doing a Technique Class each month – last month we did collage stamping and this month it will be Masking.

I love masking as you dont see the final result until the ‘masks’ are removed and it always gets a ‘wow’ from all creating.

Here’s a card I made recently using a masking technique – I suppose it could be referred to as ‘block masking’. If anyone knows the correct term please let me know!

Birthday Foliage

Recipe …
Stamps: French Foliage, Happiest Birthday Wishes
Paper: Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede

I love this card and how it turned out … its a great one for the guys and just change a couple of the ink colours for masking and it would be suitable for the girls as well!

Bloomin Birthday

I do hope you’ve had a wonderful Easter weekend.  What a wonderful time of year to celebrate our risen Lord!!

I’ve been a wee bit occupied this last week as my Dad has been visiting from Victoria and we’ve been over to see his sisters/my aunt’s and also the old gang at the Reformed Church in Blacktown where we used to go – its been great seeing everyone there again and wonderful to see they’ve been blessed with a new Pastor who I’ve enjoyed listening to these last couple of weeks.

Last Wednesday night I took Hubby to a concert at Hillsong Church last week – Ernie Haase & the Signature Sound, Michael W Smith & Mercy Me – wow what a night that was!!  I hadnt heard Ernie Haase & the Signature Sound before and they were fantastic!! Loved them!! What can you say about Michael W Smith and Mercy Me that hasnt already been said – both amazingly blessed artists and so good to see them here in Australia – I hope they come back very soon!

Enough about me … on with the card!!

Last week I shared the little gift set featuring the the Mixed Bunch set and the Blossom punch well today I want to share a very simple card again using Mixed Blooms and the Blossom Punch and also using the new Edgelits die from Stampin’ Up!

Recipe
Stamps: Curly Cute, Mixed Bunch, Bordering on Romance
Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue
Ink: Marina Mist, Night of Navy
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Adorning Accents – Edgelits, Glimmer Brad, White Satin Organza ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals

How divinely simply is this card yet so elegant?  So so easy to make to … oh and using the new simply Scoring Board to score the centre line on the card gives it a lovely crisp fold too!  Remember when you purchase one of these boards in an order during April I am giving you free shipping/postage!

This will be one of this Saturday’s Stamp A Stack cards so if you’d like to make a couple of these plus 4 more cards be sure to book your spot today as places are limited.  You’ll get to see and use the new Simply Score and the Edgelits! It will be a great time for you to get your free copy of the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue as well! Remember if you cant make the class you can still purchase the Stamp A Stack kits or simply place an order of $100 or more and receive the kit at half price!

Now I best be off and make a Wedding Card my sister ordered as she needs to pick it up tonite!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another of Saturday’s Stamp A Stack cards!

There are so many lovely new products in the new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue you will simply fall in love with every page!  If you dont have a copy please feel free to contact me to arrange your own copy.

Today I’m sharing a project using the gorgeous Mixed Bunch Stamp set and the new Blossoms Punch.

This is a sweet little folder made simply from two of our C6 envelopes stuck together. I’ve stamped the bold flower from the Mixed Bunch on the front then simply tied a Pink Taffeta Ribbon around the folder to hold it closed and popped a pretty daisy punched flower on the front .

The white daisy is just two flowers punched with the Blossoms Punch and then snipped to the centre to make the ‘daisy’ petals. I’ve then added a button for the centre with a little white Baker’s Twine bow in the centre.

For the cards I’ve used our Stampin’ Up! Notecards and Envelopes – I love these to pieces!

I’ve used the same bold flower stamp I used on the front and just did them in three different colours – So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Pool Party.

Daisy Notecards & envelopes

The two C6 Envelopes together have created a lovely little folder to present these cute cards in and I’ve popped the three cards in one side and three envelopes in the other.

Daisy Set

This would make a lovely gift for anyone and if you are a Hostess for a demonstration or workshop with me during April you will receive one of these as a Hostess gift.  This little set would make a perfect for Mother’s Day!

Do you love this little set?? well you too can view the video Tutorial done by my bestie Cristena – she does the loveliest things and if you’re looking for some online classes be sure to check out her Gettin Crafty Online Classes!
