Inked Embossing Folders

I love this technique as it’s fun to do, easy and gives you more ways to use your Embossing Folders! Now for today I’m doing a slight twist on this technique.  Instead of using our classic inks I’m using Brusho to ‘ink up’ my embossing folder and here’s what I created …

Brusho Ink Embossing Folder Card by Leonie Schroder Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Australia

Oh my gosh I love how this turned out!  It all started with a “I wonder if I can use Brusho with Embossing Folders”  and apparently you can!

The first card uses the Brilliant Red, Gamboge, and Yellow powders.

For my second card (cos we gotta try it more than once) I used Prussian Blue, Mossy Green and Yellow …

Brusho is actually watercolour ink crystals and they just burst to life when you spritz or apply water.

This last card I used Prussian Blue, Yellow and Brilliant Red.  I love how each time you use these crystals you get a different look.  For best results you’ll need to use Watercolour Paper.

Brusho Embossing Folder Video Tutorial

This technique is so fun and easy I’ve done a video for you …

I do need to warn you that once you get your Brusho you will become addicted to it and all the gorgeous things you can create with it.

Now it’s time to head over and see what Libby has done for you today with the Inked Embossing Folder Technique ..

  1. i saw a video about foil embossing using the Cuttlebug and or Big Shot. I tried the technique but it did not work for me. Now I can’t find the video to review it. Have you seen this video or know of this technique.

  2. I tried the technique and loved the results. After following your directions I noticed there was still quite a lot of powder on the embossing folder so I spritzed it with water and added another piece of watercolour paper and embossed that! Worked beautifully. Thanks for the instructions

    1. If you watch the video it shows you how I did it. Lay your watercolour paper in your embossing folder carefully after sprinkling on some powder then run through the Big Shot and spritz after embossing 🙂 Case away 😉 and thank your for your kind words
