One for the boys ….
Posted by: | Comments
Hard to believe its been 2 weeks since our Sale A Bration Spectacular and there were so many gorgeous Make n Takes on the day I was sad I didnt get to sit down and do any. So while we were packing up I managed to grab a couple of the packs and when I got home I realised I only grabbed two so I’ll have to get onto the girls to grab the rest and make them up.
I pulled one out tonite to make and it was one from Lisa and its a card using Natures Nest. Now when I pulled it I realised I didnt have a photo of the sample card so I thought I’d pop over to her blog and alas it wasnt there.
I did follow the instructions in her kits but I did make a few alterations of my own.
I just love this card and I know Lisa wont mind me making the alterations. I love the colours in the card – very earthy and rather masculine. I even managed to christen my curly label punch! The sentiment is from the Sale A Bration Vintage Labels set.
This is a great quick and easy card and I’d love to show you how to make it so why not contact me today to arrange your demonstration. I do have a couple of spots left in March so you can still benefit from Sale A Bration.
During Sale A Bration you can earn free stamp sets! Earn a free stamp set for every $100 you purchase and if you would like to be the hostess at a demonstration then you have the opportunity to earn more free Sale A Bration sets as well as earning the free Hostess benefits you’d normally get for holding a demonstration.
Sale A Bration finishes on 31st March so ring and book in your demonstration today or place your order.

Thinking of You ….

One of the men involved with our Church has recently hurt his back and as he does so much for the Church and the community centre I wanted to send him a card to let him know he is in our thoughts and prayers.
I loved making this card!
Making cards for men is not always easy for me and I really love how this one turned out. I do love the soft muted edges that daubering gives.
Recipe:
Stamps: Sanded Background, Trendy Trees
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla
Inks: Brocade Blue, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel.
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, Silver Brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stamp-a-ma-jig
I do hope you like this card as much as I do and maybe you’d like to hold a demonstration and see how this card is made as well as many others and have the opportunity to earn free stamps while SaleABration is still happening – if so contact me today to book in your demonstration.

Party Sketch
Posted by: | CommentsWell here we are at another Saturday – at least today I’m relaxing after last weekend’s Saleabration Spectacular! Now being Saturday its time for another Divas Sketch Challenge! ![]()
Here is this week’s sketch ….
Carol was very nice to let me have last weekend off now wasnt she?? but I’m back into the sketches again and not to let the side down I’ve changed it a little – but what more could you expect from me??
I really struggled with the “least favourite colours” though … I just couldn’t work out what to do as I just love Stampin’ Up!’s colours so I went with some that I don’t use as often and hopefully that will be ok (at least I noticed the ‘extra’ in this week’s challenge this time!)
Here’s my card ….
Now not only did I use colours I don’t use often I also used a stamp set that hasn’t seen much ink!
Recipe:
Stamps: Party Hearty
Paper: Pacific Point, Gable Green, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Inks: Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Gable Green, Versamark
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Pacific Point Striped grosgrain ribbon.
I do hope you like my card and please be sure to check out the other creations by the Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge Team.

Summer Dragonfly
Posted by: | CommentsI shared on Tuesday the gorgeous Frienship Folder well tomorrow I’m doing a Stamp A Stack where the ladies asked for cards using stamp sets from the new Summer Mini Catalogue. I had a great time creating the cards last night and want to share with you one of them today.
I just love how this card turned out! Its so simple yet elegant at the same time.
I’ve started with stamping the dragonfly from Nature’s Nest in Jet Black Stazon Ink onto Watercolor Paper. I’ve coloured him in using my aqua painter and the ink from the Classic Stampin’ Ink Pads. The Happiness sentiment (from Warm Words stamp set) is stamped in Not Quite Navy ink. The dragonfly image is then layered on Bashful Blue then Not Quite Navy. I’ve layered a piece from Urban Garden Designer Series Paper and dressed it up with a lovely piece of white grosgrain ribbon. Simple hey?
Now with my share the other day I talked about the blue eggs and yes as some of you shared it was the Robin I was thinking of and originally thought the Emu to have blue eggs however on researching their eggs seem to be more of a dark Jade shade.
I did some research on the dragonfly too while doing this card last night. It seems that if you are given a dragonfly that you should then hear ‘good news’ and I do have some good news for you today!
It appears that a few of the popular products from the Spring Mini Catalogue are still available for purchase even though the sales period for the mini is now over. Now not only are they still available but these products will also be available in next year’s Idea Book & Catalogue.
Here is a list of the still-available products:
| Item # | Item | Price |
| 112534 | Jumbo brads 5/16″ Neutrals Assortment | $15.50 |
| 112533 | Jumbo brads 5/8″ Neutrals Assortment | $13.50 |
| 114889 | Scallop Oval punch | $30.95 |
| 106960 | StazOn ink pad (White pad and refill) | $22.95 |
| 109196 | StazOn Cleaner | $9.95 |
How good is that??
So if these are items you’d like to still get and didnt get a chance in the Spring Mini Catalogue then you can still order them – pretty cool huh?
Just a reminder that if you want anything ordered and to you before Christmas you will need to get your orders and payment to me by 11th December – thats this friday! Also, here’s some more good news, any orders placed and paid for this week (before 11th December) I will pay the postage & handling for you.
Also, I am taking a holiday! Yes you read it right! I will be going to visit my family in Victoria for Christmas so will be leaving here on 20th December and will return back to working on 11th January, 2010.

Diva Sketch Challenge 54
Posted by: | CommentsGood Morning .. its another sunny Saturday here in Sydney and I’m posting early today as I have a Stamp A Stack this afternoon.
I love doing these sketches!
I find that with a sketch you can do just about anything with it – youre not limited to colours or stamp sets or themes and as soon as I saw this one I knew exactly what ’stamp’ I was going to use just not what colours or papers etc.
I sorted my cards out the other day and found I’ve only made 23 Christmas cards – apart from those I carry in my work trolley to demonstrations and I probably have another 12 or so there. So I figured I’d make some more Christmas cards to show you and here is the card I made for this Sketch.
It has very little stamping on it and so quick and easy to make! I think I’ll be making a few more of these between now and December!
I’ve just used the Peace Love Joy stamp from Occassional Greetings stamp set and stamped it in Ridinghood Red and embossed it.
Now you might say “how do you emboss with the Dye/Classic Ink pads? well … you ink your stamp up in versamark first then ink again on the colour you want. Stamp your image as you normally would and cover with clear embossing powder, shake of excess and heat with your heat gun.
Inking up your stamp with versamark with not hurt your classic pad as it is a clear embossig pad and the embossing powder with cling to the versamark you’ve just used – you just need to remember to clean your stamp before doing these steps again or else you’ll end up with a red patterened versamark pad!
To choose the colours of cardstock for my card I just go buy the colours in the Designer Series Paper pack that I’ve used. With this card I’ve used the Ski Slope DSP and I just love the Baja Breeze with the Real Red! This pack finishes at the end of November as does all the other gorgeous items in the Spring Mini Catalogue so if there is anything you want or ‘need‘ then please contact me today so you dont miss out!
Hope you like this card as much as I do!

Raspberry Dreams
Posted by: | CommentsWhen I originally bought Dreams du Jour stamp set it was just for the little butterfly in the set and since then I’ve felt a tad guilty – it makes it an expensive butterfly stamp!

It IS a great set for just $33.95 as it has 4 stamps in it so when you break it down thats just $8.50 a stamp and who wouldnt pay $8.50 for any of these stamps!
So over the past week I’ve been keeping the set on my desk so I could make more cards and therefore make the stamp set worth the purchase!

I love how this card turned out! I do like the Raspberry Tart DSP but I find it a bit much at times although I do think that when you layer images over the top like on this card it all tends to blend in.
Recipe:
Stamps: Dreams du Jour
Paper: Rose Red card stock, Pretty in Pink Card stock, Raspberry Tart DSP
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Jet Black Stazon, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, Pink Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, sponge daubers, Creamy Caramel Stampin’ Write Marker.
I’ve finished my card off with a little sponging of the eyelet border with my daubers and tied a pink bow around the card – make a pretty feminine card dont you think?

Pretty Christmas Trees
Posted by: | CommentsCan you believe it is just 2 months until Christmas?? Are you organised?? Now I think I’d better start getting organised cos two months just isn’t long enough!!

The card I’m showing you today is a case of Tammy Mendiola who is on one of the Stampin’ Up! yahoogroups I’m on and as soon as I saw it I had to make it too – its so soft and pretty!
Recipe:
Stamps: Season of Joy, Snow Swirled
Paper: Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink, Going Gray, Whisper White
Inks: Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink, Going Gray
Accessories: Pretty in Pink Grosgrain ribbon, White Organdy Ribbon (retired)
This card really is very simple and if you prefer the traditional Christmas Colours then you just need to substitute the ones used here.
Now I’m going to take this opportunity to let you know about a new service I’m offering -
The Stamp-A-Latte Gift Register
If youre anything like me you always do your own Christmas and Birthday shopping! I know its the only way we get what we want but it does have a downfall being that we always know what we are going to get! So with my Stamp A Latte Gift Register at least you can be surprised when you open your gifts!
How does it work?
Well you email or ring through your Stampin’ Up! Wishlist to me and I will keep it on file and you can add to it at any time.
Then when it comes to Christmas or your Birthday or any other celebration for that matter you get your Spouse, Partner, Friends, Family or Children to contact me and all they have to do is tell me how much they want to spend and arrange payment and I will order a selection off your Wishlist and have it wrapped and to you in time for you to put under the tree or for the person to give it to you! So then all you have to do is wait for the day – well if you can!
Costs?
There are no extra costs to register your wishlist – the only other costs would be shipping & handling and postage if I have to post the package to you or the gift giver.
So email or ring me today with your Wishlist – dont forget that Christmas is only 60 days away and I will need approximately 14 days to place the order and get it to you in time.

Soft Blue Summer
Posted by: | CommentsMorning …. its a lovely sunny day here in Sydney and they’ve forecast a lovely 30° Celsius (86°F) so looks like we will be getting a little bit of summer here today!
Here’s a card that I created last week for my Aunt’s Stamp A Stack which was inspired by one of Vanessa’s blog cards she demonstrated at the recent Papercrafts Show in Sydney. Vanessa is a lovely lady and part of my Stamp A Latte team.
This is a lovely quick and easy card.
It uses the lovely Soft Summer set from the Spring Mini Catalogue. I’ve stamped the solid Dogwood flower on the bashful blue layer in Versamark just to give it a watermark effect and to take away the ‘plain’ look. The sentiment is stamped in Ballet Blue
The flower on the whisper white is stamped in Jet Black Stazon – I used Stazon so I could watercolour the leaves and flowers. The actual flowers are layered as I stamped them again on another piece of Whisper White and coloured them then cut them out. This way you can curl the edges of the petals just a little and therefore give the card a little more dimension or depth. I’ve also daubered around the edge of the whisper white piece to soften the edges.
I have used the 5/8” Brocade Blue ribbon to finish the card off and I think its turned out quite elegant and I hope you like it too!

Joyful Sketch
Posted by: | Comments
Hello and welcome to another Saturday and another Diva Sketch Challenge!
This one is a little different and it wasnt until I’d finished my card that I saw the ‘top’ bit …. oh well.
I’m sure Carol is used to me by now in rotating and changing and swapping and well just anything else and it is a challenge – lol maybe she thinks I’m her challenge??
I had to make a card using Season of Joy for a Stamp A Stack tomorrow at my sister’s house so I thought I’d combine the two and here’s my card.
I was rather happy with the way it came out and I will apologise to my sister tomorrow for the ‘extra’s’.
She did say traditional Christmas colours but I couldnt help myself – i just had to add the Ballet Blue as it just breaks it up a little. She will also hate that I put some ribbon in there too but the ribbon just lifts it a little.
Recipe:
Stamps: Season of Joy
Paper: Old Olive, Ridinghood Red, Whisper White, Brocade Blue
Inks: Old Olive, Ridinghood Red, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Eyelet Border Punch, White Grosgrain Ribbon
I hope you like this card and if you’d like to get started on your Christmas cards give me a call to book in for your Stamp A Stack!

Wishing for peace!
Posted by: | CommentsWell this blog post subject has two meanings today.
Yesterday (as you know) I went and did a Stamp A Stack for my aunt and I had to take my too girls with me – well I really should have somewhere for them to go as they musta had a double dose of the ‘lets be stupider than stupid sugar pills’ in the morning. Nothing could be said or done to convince them to just sit quietly and play with their DS machines or whatever else they had in their large bags!
The day took longer than expected as we had lots of fun in making the cards and stopped for the occasional coffee/food break! There was more food there than the 10 of could eat in a day!
So we left later than expected and we’d already arranged for one of Miss E’s friends to come for a sleepover – well what was I thinking???? With my two already crazy and this little hyper friend of Emily’s … do you think we got much sleep last night?? I was looking forward to their bed time so I could sit and relax but no they were still going on at midnight!
Then today Miss C asked if the friend could stay another night to which came the resounding reply of NO!!!
So now you can understand my wish for peace (and quiet!) and so I thought it fitting to also share this quick Christmas card using the Wish for Peace stamp set.
This is the first one I made.
Its done on Not Quite Navy cardstock. I stamped the two images in Whisper White Craft Ink and then embossed with White Embossing powder.
When the card was finished the embossing looked a bit ‘blotchy’ (that is a word right?) and even though I’d used the embossing buddy I still had a few specks.
So I got to thinking … and yes I know … thinking is bad for one’s health!
What if I stamp with Versamark and then emboss in the White Embossing powder.
So I tried it … and I found it resulted in a clearer embossed image.
Maybe the Versamark ‘holds’ the powder better than the craft ink does – who knows … maybe this will become the eighth wonder of world!
This second card is done using Night of Navy cardstock – purely because I ran out of Not Quite Navy!
I think it has turned into an elegant Christmas card so sometimes those ideas you get bumping around in your head are good to be released onto cardstock!
I hope you like it too!
