I lurv Happy Mail
How many times do you walk to the letter box and your whole being drops when you see all those window faced envelopes (aka Bills)??
Being a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up! I make many sample cards to share at demonstrations or with my loyal blog readers like yourself. I have quite a few more cards than I need so its nice to throw one in the mail and send to someone ‘just cos I can’ and its always lovely to get one back – how excited do we get when we see an envelope in our letter box that does NOT have a window??
I know I get very excited as do the girls – they want to know who its from and why they sent it to me.
Now being that I’ve been with Stampin’ Up! now for nearly 4 years – ooo its my Stampin Up! Anniversary next month! I’ve met many lovely people and many of them have become friends. One of these ladies is the lovely Leonie Newman – who also happens to be in my awesome downline – well she’d have to be great with a name like Leonie wouldnt she??
To my surprise Leonie sent me a little gift last week – she had told me during one our online chats that I should keep an eye on my letter box.
This is what I received ….
Leonie did tell me that she saw this Coffee Sleeve and thought of me immediately — not sure where she gets the idea I’m powered by coffee?!?! I do appreciate the thought as how often have you bought a coffee from a take away and its too hot to hold??
Now the card ….
I love the colours and paper Leonie has used.
This type of card is called a ‘swing’ card as the top swings up to reveal the message or greeting as shown below.
If you would like to learn how to make one of these swing cards then contact me today to arrange your demonstration or class
To Leonie – thank you for blessing me with your friendship and your gorgeous gift!

A Subtle Silhouette
Have I told you recently how much I love Stampin’ Up! Notecards and envelopes? Well not for at least a month! These notecards make the quickest and easiest of gifts to make and give and who doesnt like to receive presents?
The previous sets I’ve made were the one’s done for our Sale A Bration Spectacular and ESAD Blog Hop with the Rose is a Rose stamp set which can be found here. I also made some very quick and easy notecards using the Thoughts and Prayers set which you can see here.
Now just recently I participated in the ESAD Secret Stampin Sister Swap and I thought about what to make and one of my sister’s friends said she loves the Pocket Silhouettes and didnt have that set. So in the last month in the Swap you send 2 cards, a handmade gift and a gift to the value of $30 so I ordered the Pocket Silhouettes set for her. Then I wanted to make something using Pocket Silhouettes (my set not her new one!) so then my mind drifted off to the Notecards and I thought why not. I also thought I’d give some of our retiring subtle colours a bit of a last ‘hurrah’ so to speak.
This is the box I designed to pop the notecards into. Its funny where you get inspiration from as the inspiration for this box came from and skin care sampler kit. One of those lightbulb moments! The paper I’ve used on the box is from Bella Rose Designer Series Paper pack.
These are the cards and envelopes that I made to put in the box … there were 6 in total with envelopes.
I love the Pocket Silhouettes stamp set as it has 4 different flower/leaf stamps plus two greetings and all for just $33.95 so it makes a very cost effect purchase and you can use this set for masculine, arty or feminine cards. As my good friend Libby says … Your creativeness is only limited by your imagination.
Special Offer #1
Now as a special offer to all my lovely friends who read my blog if you purchase the Pocket Silhouettes and the Notecards from me before 31st July I will also give you the template for this gift box.
Special Offer #2

**Retiring stamp sets!
I love Stampin’ Up!’s promotions and I try to show you various projects in relation to the promotion and yesterday I had a play with the Playful Petals Stamp Set.
Now this set is actually retiring at the end of August so if you want it you better get it now – especially since its over $10 off the regular price!
I love this flower stamp – actually I love all the flowers in this set! Maybe because I get to colour them in all purty colours.
I havent actually used the Tea Party DSP (it is designed from this stamp set) but I have used the colours from that pack to colour my flowers and for the cardstock and inks I used.
I have also specifically used the colours that are staying after the Colour Renovation happens. I’ve even reorganised my inks, markers, reinkers and cardstock to the new colour families and I must say I do like the colours that have been grouped together even if I do now have a few holes here and there!
I also wanted to show you a close up of the flower on the bottom left as its all ‘dimensionalised’.
Is that even a word? well it is now! I’m sorry its not so ‘clear’ as my camera isnt as flash as some and close ups arent one of its strong points! I think you can still see the dimension it has though.
Have a wonderful Friday – I’m off for a Coffee and some toast – late breakfasts here during School Holidays!

Subtle Flowers
Its currently school holidays here at the moment so things are not going according to my routine as they usually do. I had a lazy day today so thought I’d give my blog a little makeover – what do you think?
You might remember in my last post the card I cased from the lovely Lynda Shrimpton – well Lynda is such a lovely friend she let me case a couple more cards – aint she sweet. Most of my cards are my own creations and as I do many Stamp A Stacks I like to give my customers a few different choices when choosing what cards they wish to make so sometimes its nice to not have to think too hard – especially during school holidays!
Here are a couple of very easy cards using the Vintage Vogue stamp set.
How pretty and delicate is this card?
The flowers just trail down the card a bit like Jasmine on a fence or anything that stood still too long and too close!
This has to be one of the easiest cards I’ve made and the ladies on Sunday enjoyed making it too. It is one of those cards that could be used for any occasion.
Recipe
Stamps: On Your birthday, Vintage Vogue
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, Whisper White
Inks: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Mellow Moss Stampin Write Marker, Pretty in Pink Stampin Write Marker, Large Oval Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch, Stampin Dimensionals.
Now for the second card – another lovely soft card but in blue ….
This card is the same layout and design as the other just in the landscape orientation. I’ve also added a row of the lovely leafy edge image at the top and bottom of the panel in versamark. The top and bottom of the white piece is daubered in Bashful Blue and a simple little sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.
Dont you just love the Soft Subtle range? well if you answered yes and your a regular Stampin’ Up! customer you will know that many of the the Soft Subtle colours are retiring at the end of August. However we have had a few colours start to run out already so if you’d like to grab some soft subtles before they are all gone I’d suggest you get your order in sooner rather than later.
If the single colours sell out dont forget you can still buy them in the mixed family packs!
Would you like to make these cards?
I still have a couple of places available for my Stamp A Stack here on Saturday 10th July so if you’d like to come contact me today to reserve your spot. Its just $20 for 9 cards – oh and some very yummy coffee … and I’ll even make you a cup in my new coffee cups!

A Little Baroque
This past week I’ve been busy getting my emails and Google reader up to date – cant believe I had over 700 posts I hadnt read! Can you believe its now down to 3?
In my ‘reading’ I did find some gorgeous cards and projects to inspire and case. Now when you do case a card or something you’ve found online the ‘proper’ thing to do is to give credit to the person who inspired you. In today’s case this card is one I cased from the very lovely Lynda Shrimpton. Lynda is an avid blog reader – I know this cos not only does she frequent my blog but those of my demonstrator friends and she always leaves the best comments! Thanks Lynda
Now I did change the colours somewhat as I wanted to use this as one of the cards for today’s Stamp A Stack.
Recipe
Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Weathered background, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Inks: Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa
Papers: Close to Cocoa, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Stampamajig, Sponge Daubers, Stampin Dimensionals
Technique – Shadow Stamping
If you look closely at the card you can see a faint shadow on the swirl. This is done by using the two inks – one light and one darker and you definitely need to use the Stampamajig to place the second stamping.
If you love this effect and would like to see how it is done why not book in for my Technique Class or have me come show you at a Workshop in your home.
Now I have some sad news …..
As you know we have the colour renovation happening when the new Idea Book & Catalogue comes out in September (not long now) and some of our beloved colours are being discontinued. Now while Stampin Up! have tried to keep up with the demand some of the colours will be gone early due to demand and everyone ordering and the first item to go is Close to Cocoa A4 Cardstock. So while the full packs are no longer available you can get it in the mixed Earth Elements pack but again this is only while stocks last.
So please if there is any other retiring colour cardstock, inks, markers or refills you ‘need’ get it early before its too late!
Have a totally blessed Sunday!

Soft Roses
Its a chilly Saturday here in Sydney and I’ve had a nice morning of shopping with the hubby and even managed to get me more things than the rest of the family – which doesnt happen very often.
I even got some new coffee cups I’ve been after for a while so a good morning in all.
As its Saturday its time for another Utah Divas Sketch Challenge from the lovely Carol.
Now when I first saw this one I thought ‘hmmm ok’ but then it dawned on me what I could do and what sort of a challenge would it be if I didnt change it any?
So me being me gave it a good old rotation and this is what I came up with ….
I really do love this Rose is a Rose set and will be sorry to see it retire in 2 months however if you dont have this set and would like to get it before it goes then you can and if you buy it before 31st July then you can get it at 20% off! Pretty good deal huh?
Now I did hear from the lovely Max today and she said she cant participate in this week’s sketch – something to do with her mother visiting from England and leaving on Monday and wanting to spend every waking minute with her. Max I hope you have a wonderful few days and Mum has a lovely trip back home. So this week the next stop on the Utah Diva Sketch Hop is the lovely Ruthie Burkey.
So skip on over toRuthie‘s blog and see what she’s created for this sketch.

Cheep Talk on 2 step stamps
With the beginning on a new month we have a new promotion from Stampin’ Up!® and as always – its a good one!
From 1-31st July you can purchase selected 2 step stamping sets at 20% off! What a huge saving!
One of the sets included in this sale is the very cute Cheep Talk stamp set. Its a set of 11 stamps and at the sale price works out at less than $3.50 per stamp – now where else can you get 11 stamps for less than $40??
With this great promotion I set to work on a couple of cards using the Cheep Talk stamp set.
How cute is this card? I’ve had the Scalloped Circle die for a while and havent had a chance to use it so I ‘borrowed’ it back from Lisa and made these cards today.
The first one is done in Old Olive and Perfect Plum. I chose these colours as they are two of my favourites and two that will remain after the Colour Renovation happens with the new Idea Book and Catalogue in September.
Here is the inside of the card.
One thing you will ‘need’ to have when you embark on 2 step stamping is the Stampamajig so you will have perfect placing every time.
While I love this card I also wanted to make another that was bright – for the ‘young at heart’ girls.
Again I wanted to use colours that would remain after the Colour Renovation and nothing says ‘girly’ like pink and orange!
This card uses Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie. While I have always loved Pumpkin Pie its taken some time for the Melon Mambo to grow on me. Mind you I received my new Mastercard debit card today and guess what – its Melon Mambo!
I love how this card turned out – so bright and funky!
Here’s the inside – the thinking of you sentiment comes from the ‘On Your Birthday’ set. All other stamps used in these two cards are all from the Cheep Talk Stamp Set.
Now for the details of the July ’2 step’ Promotion …
- purchase any of the selected Stamp Sets at 20% off
- no minimum purchase
- no limit on how many you can purchase

Trendy Gifts
In March we started a new round of Secret Sister on our Aussie Demonstrator group – ESAD. As you shared in the wonderful gifts I recieved I was unable to share the gifts I sent just in case my Secret Sister was a visitor to my blog.
Now that this round is over I can share with you the gifts I sent and here is the first lot I sent …
I went with a Raspberry Tart theme for the first month. At the back is a small diary that cover 16 months that I pick up from The Warehouse each year – they are just $1 and I just pop in some Designer Series Paper so make it their own.
Next we have the organiser.
It is simply an Easel Card with a drawer put on the bottom – very easy to do.
I’ve popped a small calendar on the top of the drawer and then in the drawer I have note paper and a small mechanical pencil.
Then the card I sent …
Again using the Raspberry Tart papers and matching the trees to the pinks and reds of the paper. I quite like the pink trees and I know I have some friends who will just love them too!
Now see the little bird on the card? I have a RAK for the first person to tell me what set the bird came from – so go grab your catalogues and start searching!
Now dont forget …..
- Deals of the Week finishes tonight so you’ll need to ring me if you want anything
- Special Starter Kit price of $259 is good until 31st July,2010 – you can even sign up online you just need a credit card and an Australian Business Number.
Feel free to ring or email me if you have any questions regarding either of these specials or would just like to sign up for my newsletter.

Mellow Bird .. and a special offer
Well its another very (very) chilly day here in Sydney. I really do not like winter although spending the day in bed is rather nice but it doesnt get things done.
It was nice to receive a phone call this morning from the lovely Lisa to advise me that it actually just got to 10C!! She is such a sweetie and so thoughtful!
Today’s card is one that I cased however now I cant find where it was that I cased it from – I’ve changed computers so if you do recognise this as your design please let me know so I can give credit where it is due.
Recipe:
Stamps: En Francais, Baroque Motifs
Paper: Mellow Moss, Very Vanilla, Basic Gray
Inks: Sahara Sand, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Extra Large 2 step bird punch, Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, sponge daubers, Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals.
Now when I made this card I wanted the dots from the Textured Impressions Folder to stand out so I just used my sponge dauber with the sahara sand and gently rubbed over the top just to make them ‘pop’ a little – it doesnt need much just a light touch.
Although it looks involved it is surprisingly simple. Its been a very popular card in my Stamp A Stack classes too. Its also another good card to show that everyone really needs to have that Extra Large 2 step bird punch in their supply.
Now for my special offer ….
As its the end of the financial year here in Australia and I’m just shy of a sales target I am offering free postage on all orders received today and tomorrow! So until the end of June (tomorrow) any orders placed will be processed with free shipping.
Dont forget about the Deal of the Week as it also finishes tomorrow. Selected rhinestone brads and ribbons on sale ….
| Item | Page | Description | Regular Price | Sale Price |
| 109113 | 149 | Square Ice Rhinestone brads | $19.95 | $11.97 |
| 109111 | 149 | Circle Ice Rhinestone brads | $19.95 | $11.97 |
| 109112 | 149 | Square Fire Rhinestone brads | $19.95 | $11.97 |
| 111848 | 150 | Bashful Blue 1″ double-stitched grosgrain ribbon | $19.95 | $10.97 |
| 109050 | 151 | Certainly Celery 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon | $14.95 | $8.97 |
So contact me now with your order – you can email, ring or send that courier pigeon – but make sure he has some Red Bull first so he gets here in time!

Sketchy Saturdee 89
Hello! I do hope you are having a lovely weekend and if you live in the same country as I do are keeping warm! It was a rather chilly Saturday today!
Firstly my apologies for being so late with my cards today (hope Carol forgives me but I did make two!)
Here is this week’s sketch – a bit of a doozy and I do think Carol had one of those “this will fix them” moments!
I really struggled with this at first and started working on a card and then half way through it decided to scrap that one and go another direction. So I do hope you like what I’ve come up with today.
This is the first card I came up with …
I wanted to make a card that would fit in with next month’s promotion but I’m not telling you what the promotion is so maybe you can work it out from my card – and maybe not!! You’ll just have to wait till Thursday to see if you are right
Its that diagonal bit that threw me with the sketch so once I got over that I was fine.
I do love the Cottage Wall Designer Series Papers and the Cottage Garden stamp set. We are so blessed to be the only ones to have the Cottage Garden Stamp set as it is only available in Australia and New Zealand – so we really are the lucky country are we not?
Now as I was making this above card my mind was wondering and drifted over to the lovely Bella Bleu papers and the Echoes of Kindness Hostess set and this is what I came up with …
I do love the saying in this stamp set – and I just love the colours in the Bella Bleu Papers – I am so going to miss them when they retire at the end of August.
I do hope you like my cards today and its not time to pop along to the next Designing Diva and today its the lovely Tammy Fite
