It’s finally the last day of School Holidays here in Sydney and the girls and I took the opportunity to go and do a little (?) shopping today. Caitlyn received some gift cards from various places for her birthday last week so we spent those and, as usual, spent a little of my money … well a little more than I wanted too anyway!!
Why is it that whenever you get a gift card – no matter how much its for – you always spend more than you get given??
I also managed to get myself a jacket which I’ll need this weekend when I attend the Stampin’ Up!® Convention in Canberra – I was a little taken back with the price though as I havent had to buy a jacket since leaving work some 10 years ago! Hopefully this one will keep the chilly Canberra winds out and I wont have to walk around Canberra wrapped in my doona! Hey it could be the start of a new trend!!
Last month I visited the very lovely Andrea Lowcock and she showed me a card she’d made – it was a crimped envelope card and I’ve been dying to make one and now that I have a couple of ‘free’ days I took the opportunity to make one last weekend.
I followed the tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and it really is quite easy and it makes such a lovely special card perfect for any occassion – I made mine for Mother’s Day and used the lovely Rose is A Rose stamp set.
The leaves and rosebuds are stamped directly onto the envelope where as the larger rose is stamped onto a piece of Whisper White and then cut out and adhered with dimensionals after crimping the envelope.
The top section where the ribbon is slides off the top of the pocket and there is a card insert as shown here.
This following image shows all the parts to the card
This is a great project to do and I would just love to show you how to make this awesome card. Its not just for mother’s day either – you can change the theme just by using different stamps.
You could make one for Father’s Day, Birthdays, New Baby, Wedding or any occasion you want someone to feel extra special.
So contact me today to book in your demonstration!
Just a reminder – I will be away from Thursday to Sunday so any emails or calls I will reply to on Monday.

This is really lovely Leonie. I’m going to pop on over and read that tutorial – I think I need to try this. Make sure you take a photo of you in either the new jacket or your doona LOL. It’s going to be cold and there is snow on those mountains. have fun.
