Inkspirations Colour Challenge 3

This week Makeesha set us a colour challenge and when I first saw it I thought I couldnt do this one but I am determined to make cards using colours out of my comfort zone this year and this colour challenge definitely qualified!

Although it looks pretty enough on Keesh’s picture above when I pulled out the cardstock I walked away and thought I’ll have to think on this one!

You know how these things happen dont you – you’re off doing something else and then the idea just pops into your head and you think yeah!

Well thats what happened and I couldnt sleep last night so I made this card in the wee hours of the morning! Why do all these ideas only happen in the wee hours of the morning – maybe its that peace & quiet you get when everyone else is in bed.

I’ve used the For Father Stamp set and the Sanded background stamp – love this stamp!

I’ve stamped the image in Jet Black Stazon onto Stampin’ Up! Water colour paper. I love this watercolour paper but I think you know that already! I am sure I’ve told you before just how much I love Stampin’ Up!’s Water Colour paper and I love to colour using the Aqua Painter. I know the Aqua Painter’s seem expensive from Stampin’ Up! however I have had the cheaper ones and the brushes do tend to get messy and frizzy after a while whereas the Stampin’ Up! brush I have hasnt done this yet so maybe it is really a case of  ‘you get what you pay for’!

If you look closely on the card I stamped some more apples on the Ruby Red layer to give it a bit of continuation. Here is a close up of the apples so you can see it a little better.
