Bayou Stems

Most of you know how much I love being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and how I love to share what I do with you and through my workshops and demonstrations. One aspect that has really blessed me is the friendship and support I receive from other demonstrators and not just ones in my team – I am blessed with many friends worldwide and being a part of Utah Diva’s International has blessed me in this regard.

UDI Sketch

The girls at UDI started a group blog last year and it was my privilege to be a weekly contributor which I did from the beginning to around October.

Alicia asked me recently if I’d join the Sketchy Saturday team and I accepted. I love doing sketches as they are open to so many possibilities and no two cards from the same sketch are ever the same.

This is this weeks sketch and although it looks rather plain there is just so much you can do with it!

The past three weeks I havent had any demonstrations as I needed a little break which has been great for me as I’ve had the time to make up some new samples for my Stamp A Stacks. I started with my first Stamp A Stack of 2009 just yesterday and had a great time with the ladies there and again today with another group of ladies.

This is the card I designed using the sketch and it was a huge hit with both Stamp A Stacks. Its very simple and easy to do yet it turns out very elegant at the same time.

I just love using Blue Bayou and Soft Sky together and will be very sorry when they retire at the end of March (remember you need to stock up on everything that comes in the ‘In Colours’ as soon as possible so you wont miss out as these stocks usually run out very quickly.

The caramel sponging just sets it and gives it that aged look. The leaves stamp is from the Embrace Life stamp set and the sentiment is from the For Father stamp set – both in the Summer Mini Catalogue. The card was finished off with some Kraft Taffeta Ribbon – love this stuff!
