Double Diagonal Pocket cards
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve been meaning to do this card since the tutorial popped onto Splitcoast Stampers but never found the time.

So I took the opportunity to demonstrate these at a recent demonstration. I’ve adjusted the size from that of the tutorial at Splitcoast Stampers so it fits on A6 card.
I’ve done one using Berry Bliss Designer Series Papers and One of a Kind stamp set and the other is using Outlaw Designer Series Papers and True Friend Stamp set. Just on those two stamp sets - as they are in the Spring Mini Catalogue you only have until the end of November to purchase them.
If you visit my blog regularly you will know that I love the Berry Bliss papers. I just love pink and brown together!
I have often said that one of the wonderful things about Stampin Up! is how all their products coordinate so well together and the Berry Bliss coordinates with the One of a Kind stamp set perfectly as it has some of the images in the papers.
It sure does make matching things up alot easier and you dont have to stand around working out which colour cardstock goes with the patterened papers as its all done for you! So that means you have more time to play and create!
The main image on the front is in three layers to give it dimension. The middle flower is in pretty in pink and cut out and stuck straight onto the larger flower. The middle flower is stamped in Purely Pomegranate and adhered with a Stampin Dimensional.
Hopefully you can see the layers in the next photo.
The second card I made was in the Outlaw Designer Series Papers and again these papers use images from the True Friend stamp set.
I’ve used the colours from the Outlaw papers to stamp my images in and the flower image on the tag was done using the markers direct to the rubber stamp and then stamping the image onto naturals ivory cardstock.
I do love these sets and will be sad to see them finish at the end of November however I did receive the new mini Summer Catalogue today and this one starts December 1 and I must say that its gorgeous! With lots of lovely new stamps, papers and accessories! The only dilemma will be what to buy first??
Have a great day and if you’d like to learn how to make these double diagonal pocket cards then contact me as soon as possible to arrange your demonstration!

Just Add Ribbon
Posted by: | CommentsI did a Christmas Stamp A Stack for my sister last weekend and she’d asked for a card using the City of David stamp set.
Knowing my sister and her love of ribbon (not) I decided to make the card fairly plain as I also knew there were some first time stampers coming.
This is the card we made - well one of the three we made.
We’ve used Always Artichoke for the base card and mat behind the stamped image. The images were also stamped in Always Artichoke onto the Naturals and sponged around the edges again using the Always Artichoke.
I’ve cut a piece of the script designer series paper from the Holiday Harmony pack in the Spring Mini Catalogue.
I did explain to the guests that the sample did not have any ribbon as the hostess has a thing aobut ribbon - dont ask me why but it does make you wonder if we are really related!! Or maybe I just got her ‘love of ribbon’ gene!
I did take along a roll of the burgundy grosgrain and the Artichoke grosgrain so if the guests wanted to they could add some ribbon.
Here are two samples of how I added the ribbon to the card.

This first one was just wrapping the Artichoke Grosgrain around the top two layers and tying a flat knot in the centre.
The second one was tying a knot in the middle of the Burgundy grosgrain then wrapping it around the top layer. This is just one simple knot which you tie just tight enough to give you a flat triangle knot in your ribbon.
Now just on the Spring Mini Catalogue I just wanted to remind you that this mini finishes on 30th November so if there is anything in that catalogue you ‘need’ to ring and order soon before it expires. Some things you might like are …
- Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
- Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon
- Holiday Harmony Designer Series Papers
- Silver Hodgepodge hardware
- On Board Trimmings
- Tags for All stamp set (to make all those christmas tags)
- Summer Picnic Designer Series Papers
- Apple Cider Designer Series Papers
- Blooms Die cuts
- A Perfect Day rubons
- Eastern Elegance rubons
- Boho Blossoms Punch
- Always Stamp set
Remember that even though a particular item in this catalogue was very popular it doesnt guarantee it will be in the 2009 Idea Book and Catalogue. You can email, ring or post your order to me.
Have a great day.

A Little Bit of Happiness
Posted by: | CommentsI loved these stamps as soon as I saw them and once I got them was lost for ideas.
While I was on holidays I visited my good friend Kerri and she showed me one of hers and I thought how nice and using the black & white gives it such an elegant look.
Kerri used just the heart stamp in hers and once I made mine I decided it was too nice not to make a whole set using this Hostess set.
I didnt colour all of the stamped image in - just 3 selections on each.I feel this gives these cards just enough colour but not too much so they look over done.
I have also used the Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the selected images and then gone over the top of just the coloured images with Crystal Effects. This just gives it a little extra to the card.
Here is a picture of the stamped images close up showing the Crystal Effects.
The photo doesnt do it justice but I think you can see the shiny raised effect the Crystal Effects give.

The greetings at the bottom right of the cards were done using the Short and Sweet stamp set that you can get at 20% off when you spend $20 during the month of October as part of the Birthday Promotion from Stampin’ Up!®.
You can see what other stamps you can get at 20% off during October click here and all you need to do to get them at 20% off is just spend $20 on any other products - how sweet is that deal?
Have a great day and treat yourself to a Latte!
Home Again ….
Posted by: | CommentsSo naturally I had to do some stamping - didnt think I’d miss my stamping so much over the holidays but I must say I have made up for lost time as I’ve had to prepare for 5 workshops with the first today and one every day till Monday. Whew! I think Tuesday I’ll fall down and not get up for a day or two lol!!
I did get home to a tower of mail and packages!
Of course I opened the packages first …. well after unpacking as hubby said I couldnt open them until the bags were unpacked. What a mean man … surely thats some form of abuse? Two of the packages were birthday presents for me … one from my dear friend Makeesha and another from a good friend in USA.
Now [much to all Aussie demo's dismay] I have to tell you I squealed when I opened the package from USA as it had their new Stampin’ Up!® Scallop Border punch!! I’m sure you all heard me squeal and I’m very happy to say that all my customers will be able to order it from the Summer Mini Catalogue which starts December 1 so start saving girls!!
The other birthday box I got was from Makeesha - this ladies just oozes talent and love! I am so blessed to know her and have her as a friend!
This project was posted on Makeesha’s blog yesterday so you’ll be able to pop over there and get the tutorial on how to make these awesome boxes.
She has used the Secret Garden Simply Scrappin’ kit to make this one and I just love the papers and colours in that pack.
The Simply Scrappin kits are full of awesome little goodies that you cant get separately in the Idea Book and Catalogue and I just love scrapping with them as it makes it so easy for you!
Now when you life the lid off you can see how the ribbon is thread through to hold the little love notes and envelopes around the side.
Mind you I did get excited when I opened mine to find not only the gorgeous love notes Makeesha made but also a little box of chocolates and several coffee bags - does this woman know me or what??
I had meant to take this box to today’s demonstration to show the ladies but I did forget to take it along - I’ll have to try and remember to take it along tomorrow!
Here are the gorgeous little love note cards that were in the box along with the lovely birthday card Makeesha made me again using the Secret Garden Simply Scrappin’ kit.

I was so blessed with alot of cards for my birthday so I want to thank everyone who sent me a card - even hubby commented on how many I got this year especially considering he forgot my birthday last year and no he hasnt lived that one down yet! Not sure he ever will
Before I go I want to share with you the layout the ladies made at the demonstration today.
Again its using the Secret Garden Simply Scrappin’ kit and it was inspired by one that Andrea (who also happens to be in my team) did last week.
I do like how this one turned out and the ladies today were impressed with how easy it was but also at how elegant it turns out.
My little girl is growing up hey???
Have a great night and if you’d like to book a demonstration to see the Simply Sent kits in action then please do as I’d love to share them with you!

Great Ocean Road
Posted by: | CommentsYesterday was such a lovely sunny day we decided to take the girls for a drive. I had suggested we drive to Ballarat for a surprise visit on my good friend Kerri and the World Card Making Day fundraiser she was holding but hubby insisted it was too far. Here begins the story so keep this point in your mind!
Those were Loch Ard Gorge, The Blowhole, 12Apostles, London bridge and finish at Princetown and have lunch at the “Top of the Town” Pub.
It started all well and good and me with my fibromyalgia usually went back to the car while hubby took the girls on the longer walks. Loch Ard Gorge was great and the family took the steps down to the beach there. This is where hubby saw the wave coming in and Caitie didnt so therefore ended up with wet jeans. Needless to say yesterday’s joke (first one) was about how Caitie wet her pants at Loch Ard gorge! We then stopped at London Bridge (or maybe it should be renamed to London ‘Gap’!) We took a few photo’s and then Caitie and hubby took one of the walks to the blowhole - little did they know it was the 3.2km walk - so glad I went back to the car as is Emily as she had a blister on her foot that needed a band aid.
Our next stop was to be the 12 Apostles however as I was viewing the photo’s he’d taken I was questioning him why he took a photo of the black helicopter and not the yellow one that was also doing scenic tours. Little did we know that as we were discussing this we passed the turn off for the 12 Apostles! We drove for a while and I suggested we had passed it and hubby was sure that it was further along than we were so we kept going … and going … and going … and going! Well we kept going all the way to Apollo Bay - some 100 kilometres!
So yes after the girls going for a run along the beach at Apollo Bay we started our way back and had no troubles finding the stop for the 12 Apostles on the way home. So after all the driving and detours it probably would have been quicker to go to Ballarat after all!
We did have a good day with all the driving and seeing all the sights and some not necessarily on the tourist map and glad we did as today the weather has been horrid with wind, rain, hail then some more rain wind and more rain - it even went horizontal at times!

Hope you all have a great week and will post again when I get back home on the weekend.
