Sweeeeeeeeet September Specials!
Posted by: | CommentsCan you believe its the end of August already and tomorrow is the first day of Spring! So for the new season I thought I’d share a ’springtime’ card featuring these lovely 2 step butterflies from the Sweet Shapes stamp set. I just love how this card turned out and its very simple to make too when using the Stamp-a-majig!

I have used a whisper white base. First layer is Almost Amethyst and stamped the asterisk in Whisper White craft ink pad. The middle section has the butterflies stamped on Whisper White in Apricot Appeal, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Almost Amethyst then using the paper piercing tool from the Tool Kit I have pierced holes to give the affect of where the butterflies have flown. I then layered onto pretty in pink strip. I’ve then tied the white organdy ribbon around the layers before attaching to the base card.
Its a very simple but effective card - I tell my workshop guests that I only do ’simple’ as sometimes those cards with lots of layers, embellishments and techniques sometimes are just too much. Simple cards also show that anyone can make them and they dont overwhelm people or make them think they cant do it - anyone can make a card and an elegant one at that!
If you would like me to show you how to make this card email or ring me today to book in your workshop.
Poppin’ Petals
Posted by: | CommentsI did some playing the other day in preparation for my first workshop for August.
I do try to have my workshops tie in with the monthly special from Stampin’ Up! and this month is no different.
I have used the Versamark to stamp the petals onto whisper white cardstock then used the pastels with my daubers to ‘pop’ the flowers out. I then stamped the leaves in Mellow Moss (love this colour) then layered on Mellow Moss & Pretty in Pink and tying the pale pink grosgrain around the top layer and you have a lovely soft/muted feminine card.
The ladies at my workshop loved it and I find the Petal Prints set so versatile as it has stamps that you can use in 2 step stamping and three different flowers so it can give you many different looks as well!
If you would like to learn how to do the Poppin Pastels technique give me a call or send me an email and I’d love to come and show you and some of your friends how to do this very easy technique.
